FEMALE - NEW TO GUNS I had never held a gun or shot a gun before my day at Go Strapped with Huard Briscoe Harral. I walked into the building feeling terrified of the firearm inside of my backpack, and walked out of the building feeling like the firearm was an extension of myself. Huard gave me unprecedented comfort and confidence with my firearm. I also crushed it at the range and achieved an almost perfect score on my target qualification in major part to Huard's guidance and the Combo Class. THE COMBO CLASS I would highly recommend taking the "Introduction to Handguns and LTC/CHL Combo Class" for both beginners and anyone looking to refresh their skills. I was blown away by how easy-to-understand the information was, and it honestly didn't feel like I was there for 10hrs. What to Expect: ALL THE THINGS Get ready to learn about self-defense, the law, safety, storing, cleaning, handling, shooting, stance, grip, mechanics, and my favorite part: ALL THE SCENARIOS! Obviously you can't cover ALL the scenarios in a day, HOWEVER I felt like I walked away from this training with total confidence and awareness of what to do and how to act in daily activities and situations that I will likely find myself in or could find myself in. Just left my LTC class today. HUARD HARRAL was out instructor and a very good one. The class may seem long (it is) but they keep it interesting so neither party is dreading it. You get a break every hour or so. Bring snacks and water if you might get hungry, they also have self serve coffee and snacks for purchase. (Chips, cookies, things to get you by) Total classroom hour is about 4 hours and then you take the test IMMEDIATELY. So I hope you were paying attention! They have their range test at Winchester Gallery. - The class overall: Our class was pretty full I would say. We had roughly 21 or so people. Don't feel discouraged or anything because they're really there to teach you, and you're really there to learn. They recommend you bring a pen. I recommend you bring a pen and paper(s). Taking notes helped a lot. Their way of teaching really helps you understand. That is the point right? No one wants failing students, and we ourselves DONT want to fail either. But if you pay attention it's an easy 100! - The instructor(s): HUARD was our main instructor, he taught everything you needed to know for the class. He had two guys to help manage things along the way. Which was great especially when it came to the range. Because Lord knows I kept making their time difficult. - The range: Indoor range, not too far from the learning building. Maybe 3 minutes. 5 tops if you get caught at all the red lights. Def. bring some ear and eye protection. But they do offer ear plugs for forgetful beings like me. I'm blind in one eye but it's okay because I still passed! 225/250 (If you're worried about the range part, do practice a few times before taking your tests.) or wing it like me and hope for the best. (Still do your best to aim though) I'm partially blinded in my right eye so all of my shots were mainly to one side. Disappointing. I know. - But overall experience is a 5/5. It was a great class. Some ppl new each other already in there but no worries I never felt uncomfortable or anything. Though I did get anxiety the night before which kept me up the whole night and I couldn't sleep because I, for some reason, was really nervous. 5 Stars because I didn't fall asleep! Kidding aside, I attended a Beginner's/CHL class which was from 8am - 6pm and my biggest concern beforehand was sitting through an all day lecture. The class with Jason Hosaka was awesome!! It was informative and engaging with some humor thrown in. He KNOWS his stuff!! It was an equally welcoming environment for men & women. The chairs were comfortable and the short breaks timely. I am very grateful for a company who uses their deep knowledge and experience to better equip average law-abiding citizens, like me. I attended the "Girls Night Out" - Women's LTC course at Go Strapped and I had a great experience. I decided to do the women's course because, I'll admit, I was a little nervous about shooting at the range with men. Let me assure you, Bryan is awesome and did a great job of answering questions, repeating instructions and guiding everyone through what he was needing/asking us to do. Had this been a co-ed class, I wouldn't have even noticed my peers. For the classroom portion, Bryan taught the class in a manner that kept everyone engaged and interested in the information being presented. He broke down the laws, interpreting and understanding the laws/legislation and also opened the floor for questions and conversation - we were able to learn from each other as well. My husband and I recently attended the beginner's gun course and the LTC class. We want to purchase a gun for our home but wanted to feel more knowledgeable first. Bryan was an awesome instructor and took the time to give me personalized feedback. He answered all questions confidently and I never once felt like I was attending a "dude's" gun class. I took the all day basic gun class with Erin Rodriguez and her husband. They do a great job at making a novice feel very comfortable in their class. Their instruction is informative while they insert a bit of humor. They are very passionate about teaching people how to use their gun safely. I took my LTC course with Huard Harral as the instructor and was very impressed. I spent a long time checking out all the different offerings for LTC in the metroplex and eventually decided on this even though it was a decent drive. Their reviews were 5 stars across Google, Facebook, and Yelp and this cannot be said for the other training facilities I came across. The facilities were nice and well kept and we were in a comfortable room for the didactic portion of the course. Mr. Harral took his time reviewing the topics and encouraged a discussion type atmosphere the whole time which I feel helped make everyone feel welcome and comfortable to ask any questions they had. At the end we had a representative from Texas Law Shield push their product. It wasn't very high pressure. We took the standardized TX LTC test and then went to the range. The only downside (if you could call it that) is that you had to drive to a separate range for qualification. This was explained and run well. I just felt like $18 was quite a bit to ask for range fees for a few minutes of shooting. But Go Strapped didn't set this fee so I won't ding them for it. Long story short this is an excellently put together course and am very happy with my choice. Thank you Mr. Harral for a great class. read more

I, my wife, and my father-in-law attended the combo training session in mid-June (morning intro and afternoon LTC). We are not experienced gun users and needed some extra help to get up to speed. Huard was our instructor. He did a fine job throughout the day. The class was interesting and informative, he was very patient with us, and all our questions were answered clearly. He also did a great job working with us at the gun range and helping us feel comfortable. I only have one small negative: I wasn't too keen about the Texas Law Shield sales pitch that was thrown in to the class. This was done by a separate TLS salesman who came in, made his pitch, and left. I felt like I was being pressured to buy it right then. I don't like being surprised with a strong sales pitch when I'm not told in advance that it would be part of the class. This may read as a bad aspect, but it was really no big deal. If you don't want it right then, then don't get it. All in all, I was extremely pleased with the class, the facilities, the format, and especially the instructor, Huard. I'm confident you'll be pleased with Go Strapped. read more

Huard, the instructor was excellent. I would have easily given this 5 stars but I believe it was exceptionally inappropriate for Go Strapped to bring in a SALESMAN for Texas Law Shield and push their product on us. It was fine that the instructor mentioned Texas Law Shield but when the SALESMAN came in and consumed 45 minutes of the class time selling this policy, I took offense to it. I felt that my time or intelligence was not being respected. The SALESMAN wasn't even trying to be professional; eating snacks while hoovering to see if you were going to complete your application. To the owners, my guess is that your class is partially sponsored by Texas Law Shield. If this is the case, you should give your participants the option to sit through the "pitch" and not monopolize our time. read more

I took their LTC class, and I was amazed how interesting it was. I was expecting a dry uptight class, but instead it was real world informative and interactive. Bryan, The instructor / owner, was very knowledgeable and asked if there were any questions after each slide. He encouraged to err on the side of caution and be courteous and respectful to others around you. Great videos in between slides that made the class fly by. Highly recommend Go Strapped! I had a CHL several years ago and let it expire. After reading several favorable reviews of Go Strapped, I chose them this time around. I took the additional morning class that taught basic handguns, types, pro's/con's of various models. Glad I did...Picked up on several things that helped me....In the afternoon, we Bryan (the owner) conducted the LTC portion of the class in a way that kept everyone engaged and interested. As a ex-military and police officer, he offered numerous insights from his years of experience. The exam was a breeze and the shooting exam (at the indoor range) was as well, thanks to his instruction (one person in the class had never even held a handgun before and I believe she ended up with the highest or second highest shooting score.
