My brother and I spent a few hours at the Alliance range on Wednesday 6/24 -- we rented a private suite, so that we could take our time with several firearms, draw from the hip, shoot rapidfire, etc. All of those aspects went off fine. The only compliant, granted a very significant one, was that their Air Conditioning in the private suites was NOT WORKING. There was NO mention of this when we signed in online. Further, NO ONE at the counter mentioned this to either of us when we checked in -- perhaps they thought we might -- somehow‍, not notice, that it was over 100° inside of the private suites/indoors?? When we checked out, I said to my brother "I'm guessing they'll likely 'comp us' for half or maybe all of the range fee (as we bought ammo, targets and supplies too) because of the hours long sweating in the un air-conditioned private suites?" ...But NO, no such accommodation was made. I have to say, THAT was an EXTREMELY POOR CHOICE for Shoot Smart to make. I have been going to that range for many years -- and yes, they knew it at the time. However, I may very well NOT be going back. read more

Things have started changing at this facility with the employees. They are inconsistent in treatment of customers. One example is when I was there yesterday, looking to purchase a gun which I have purchased many guns there, as I was looking at it and the young lady that was helping me ask me to make sure I keep the gun pointed down, OK I get it but it's empty and has the plastic piece in it and then the next guy as I'm sitting there is also looking to purchase a gun and he has it pointed at her and all over the place for several minutesand doesn't say a word to him! Also with our membership, we get 5% off gun purchases and on my last purchase, I asked them what they could do on a used gun I was looking at just to see if they could come down on price and they gave me a price acting like it was a great deal but shorted me $14 of even the 5% that I'm supposed to get on the gun. These are employee issues and not facility, as far as the facility is concerned I've had no issues. read more

My granddaughter and I arrived ready for a fun learning experience. She's still a beginner, I'm more experienced but had not been shooting in the last three years. Sherri was very patient with my granddaughter while showing her how to load and unload a Glock weapon that was new to her and very kind to review my AR-15 with me. Her knowledge and patience was very much appreciated. I would have loved a much longer rifle range, nonetheless we had a wonderfully positive experience! This is our favorite place to have a date! Shooting at this range has helped us bond not only to each other since it is an activity we both enjoy, but also to our weapons. You have to know your piece and be comfortable with it, and Shoot Smart gives you that opportunity. We normally buy our ammo (price varies depending on what you need) and target ($2) when we get here. We've tried both the private lanes and the normal lanes. If you use the normal lane ($15.99/person is the weekday rate, I believe. Weekend rate is a little higher) your company who isn't shooting can watch you safely from behind the glass, but you will hear others shooting as well, if that bothers you. HORRIBLE!!!!! IF YOU'RE A SEASONED SHOOTER, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!! I left in the middle of my session cause I was asked to slow down my shooting. I was not shooting fast at all! It was constant shoots with an 18 round 9mm handgun. No rapid fire involved. Just straight one second bursts. They came and asked me to slow down or upgrade to a "Suit" lane. Their reasoning is that I'm intimidating other shooters. I packed my remaining ammo and left. Jess was nice checking in. Only reason for one star. Range is sub par with better options around. "Traditional" suits only have about a 15 yard max shooting range while others are 25 to fine tune. read more

The people in their gunsmith shop are absolutely terrific. The people working the gun range are NOT terrific. After my visit to their gunsmith, I went into the range shop to ask if they sold sand bags to prop up rifles and the guy at the counter smirked and in a very condescending tone said "no, we don't sell that stuff here". I won't be back. The gunsmiths need to teach the range staff some things about grace and customer service. read more

When an employee messes up their own handbook says they first get a one on one verbal warning. Second time a letter and the 3rd time you're gone. So when something was done that by the way wasn't covered in the handbook and the supervisor of the day didn't say something to the person shortly after the incident... it confirmed my suspension that they were looking for anything to let the person go. Probably because they did not want to wait for the person to recover from a surgery. Funny how that works... he was only trying to help a customer get what he wanted that shoot smart didn't have on hand. So next time I was there I was released... no 1st or 2nd warnings like in the employee handbook says... no on the spot correction. Nothing to point out in the handbook showing the violation. Very good place to hone your skills. $20 for a lane and helpful staff. People are friendly and it is not intimidating for the new person to come and learn. Suggest you bring your own ammo as the reloads they sell are expensive vs the brass practice stuff you buy elsewhere. But the do have ammo and gun rentals which are nice if you want to shoot before you buy. read more

Great range - good people working there. Its close to the house, very convenient. I've been going there off and on taking my cousins to go shooting here. I have not used their gunsmith services, but plan on it soon. If Lanes are small but comfortable. We had up to 4 people in their suites. They have lots of variety in rentals too if you want to try it before you buy it. I would go more often if I had the time. read more

I prefer outdoor ranges, but this is a nice indoor range. The lanes are narrow, but there is a long guard between each lane, so you can't see the shooter in the next lane or get popped up side the head by her/his empty shell casings. That's a plus for me because I hate getting popped up side d'a head by used shell casings. The targets are on an automatic (smart retriever) line, so everyone doesn't have to stop to set targets. It's also nice that since we are only using one lane, they charge one shooter full price and 1/2 for the second shooter. They also have Happy Hour prices M-Th during certain hours (see on the site). We were greeted nicely upon arrival and given the sheet of rules to sign. There are also classes here that I may check out. The parking lot is small, so I'm sure this place fills up quickly over the weekend. read more

Great range and prices are decent. Haven't tried the public option but we did a private suite which was decent and roomy especially for more than one person looking to shoot. Gave me a quick loader for my gun to use which saved me a lot of time loading them into the magazine. The waiting lounge is also nice and roomy so you aren't standing around waiting for your time. I've been promising my girlfriend that I would take her to the range with me at some point. She's not really into guns or the gun culture and I wanted to try and show her what it's all about, why I do enjoy it, and the joys of marksmanship. I wish I could say that I did due diligence, researched the best place, and chose Shoot Smart for it's wonderful staff and facilities, but in truth it was perfectly positions halfway between my home in Fort Worth and her home in Denton, so we decided to come here. But, while that may not sound like a ringing endorsement I actually did really like their services. I plan to return to Shoot Smart and I also want to try their new Benbrook location as it is nearer to me and also close to my cousin who has gone shooting with me before. The staff were welcoming and friendly here, the facilities were great, and they even have a lounge for those who have to wait for their lane or as happened with us, for when my girlfriend was tired of the whole thing but I still had two mags left to shoot. She had a comfortable place to go wait while I finished up. They also offer private lanes, they have memberships that allow for wait-free lanes and call-ins so you can skip the queue. There's a lot to like about Shoot Smart. Ultimately, I don't know if I changed my girlfriends mind about guns. I doubt it. But I admire her for being willing to step into a place where she probably wasn't comfortable and give it a try. That's all we can ask. It was great to have such a large selection of guns to choose from in addition to fully automatic....naturally my sons first choice was a fully automatic rifle. I rented a private lane to teach my girlfriend how to shoot my AR-15, and I brought my own ammo. About half-way through the session, the range safety staff member came into the private suite with his full-auto AR-15 and a bandolier of mags. He asked if we wanted to try out full-auto, and I quote, "The ammo is on me." I clarified, "Well, if the ammo is on you, then sure!" He asked how many mags we wanted, and I said 4 total, 2 for me, 2 for my girlfriend. At no point was there any mention of cost, dollars, or money in general. Before shooting, I again clarified, "Well, since you're providing the ammo, of course I wouldn't turn it down." We finish with our session, and I expected to pay around $40 for the lane, and about $10 of targets. They ring me up, and it's over $170. I explain how the staff member never mentioned anything about cost, and even stated that the ammo is "on me" and that he will "provide the ammo." If a staff member offers anything to you, just say no; they'll probably charge you an arm and a leg for it without your permission. read more

Love this location. Staff is super friendly, knowledgeable and most importantly for me, extremely safety conscious. Their rates are very reasonable and if you are looking for a new firearm, they do a one time fee for unlimited rentals so you can test out a variety of guns to see what suits your feel and budget best. They also have a nice selection of guns and accessories for sale. I highly recommended renting the full auto AR-15 because who doesn't have that on their bucket list? I have a variety of ranges I could go to, but always come here because I've never had a bad experience. I suggest the private suite. It's not that much more and everyone needs to mag dump their gun at least once. I'm far from rich and have always left there with a reasonable tab. They offer LTC classes as well as many other training classes. If you are going to own a gun and carry it, I believe it is neglectful to not be as proficient with your firearm as possible. I almost didn't want to leave a review so I can keep any wait times down even though they aren't usually bad at all if there is even a wait but these guys deserve some accolades for how smooth everything runs. Husband just bought a 9 mm and wanted to try it out. This was the first range we've been to since we moved to FW. We were greeted when we walked in by the woman behind the desk. She was very knowledgeable and friendly! She sold us a few targets and sent us to the waiting room. We were greeted again for a safety briefing, short, sweet and to the point. We brought our own hearing and eye protection but I saw there was plenty for sale or maybe for rent. The ranges were pretty tight but to where you may have to dodge the casings flying back every now and again, but overall it was a fantastic experience. We didn't use 2 of our targets and were able to sell them back to the counter. They offer military discount as well. Not charged per hour either! We will be returning! read more

Andrew Bailey taught my new shooter safety class. He is awesome. I highly recommend. Andrew was able to calm my nerves about shooting a gun. He taught me the ends and outs of the equipment in pieces and parts of the gun. He ensured the safety of all guests on the range. He checked each thing he told us to do to make sure each person was handling the firearm correctly. I actually am a fairly good shot is what I learned at the class. I like that you can place yourself in line for the private suites by signing up for it with your mobile number, and you get updates when it is closer to a suite being available. Shoot smart is a great place to come and just relieve some stress, have fun and just practice. Place is clean, nice people, cleaning stations and restrooms along with snacks. They also sell ammo, guns etc here also. They have memberships for those that see themselves coming here very often which if you do, would be worth it. I believe pricing for the suites could be better when two people want to be in one, but that is just my preference. Can get pricy if you come every week or couple of times a week. read more

There is literally no end to the good things I can say about Shoot Smart Alliance. I originally went there due to a Groupon deal and am incredibly glad I did. The facilities are clean, well managed, and provide everything you need. The staff, though, is where they really shine. I've been to a few ranges in DFW trying to find one that felt right. The people hear are knowledgeable, friendly, and incredibly helpful. If you're at all a fan of shooting, or looking to learn, I highly suggest it. As a side note - their on site gunsmith provides great value. Compared to other ranges I've been to the labor rate is a steal. read more

Had a problem with my rifle jamming and had to go talk to the gunsmith and the employee wanted to charge for firing 1 full magazine and half a magazine and a total of 8mins and 20mins talking to the gunsmith who was very welcoming and friendly and help me find the problem with the rifle and the range employee was very chill and friendly but the guy behind the Register was a dickhead and rube. How are you going to give a sorry ass Excuse we had to hold the line and people were waiting on it when only 2 people were waiting on the line and I didn't even ask anyone to hold the lane for us. I wouldn't recommend this gun range if you are looking to check out some firearms to get a feel for because the Selection is very small And most of the guns I fired kept jamming but if you are bringing your own rifle or teaching your kids or friends how to shoot this place is alright. read more

I truly love Shoot Smart. Their prices are excellent, their staff is great, and their facilities are pristine. They have an online check in system that allows you to put your name in line ahead of your arrival and provides you updates on how much longer you need to wait. They have a nice lobby & waiting room as snacks and drinks for purchase. Their lanes are very clean and very well ventilated. You never feel like you're being choked by gun powder. After you're done, they have a few stations with de leading soap which is a nice touch so you don't leave powder all over your stuff.
