They stopped production in August 2025 :( The Long Version: My first introduction to Yves Veggie Cuisine was back in university. I was at a friend's house and she made us some sandwiches for a snack. Since my friend was vegetarian I expected the sandwiches to be just cheese and vegetables. I had never heard of vegetarian deli meat before so I was shocked when I looked at the sandwich and it looked to contain turkey deli meat. The sandwich was simple, just white bread (I think it was Wonder Bread), thinly sliced cucumbers, mayonnaise, and this imitation turkey deli meat from Yves Veggie Cuisine, but it was delicious. I had to ask my friend what this mysterious vegetarian deli meat thing was, lol. She told me it was from Yves Veggie Cuisine and showed me the package. I was intrigued and the next time I was at the grocery store I checked out their products. At the time they mostly had mock deli meat (in turkey, ham and pepperoni), vegetarian hot dogs, imitation ground meat, and vegetarian burgers. They later expanded their line and have Falafel balls, and other products. Over the years I tried many of their products. I liked their mock ham slices the most of all their products. Their ground "meat" made from soy wasn't bad either. My complaints with their products is that everything was very salty, at least for my taste. Nonetheless, they offered products that not many other businesses do, such as "meatless" deli meat, so overall, I was a fan. I recently learned the company went out of business in August 2025 due to declining sales, which is really too bad :( For those looking for a substitute for their products I recommend Gusto Foods. They are a Canadian company from Montreal and their mock deli meats are pretty good too. Review #18 (2026)

They come in different sizes and flavours. Their spicy Italian veggie sausages are my favourite although there is some goop between the sausages that needs to be wiped off before microwaving. Their burgers are not big. They are packaged with a small, square piece of paper between them to help separate them. This is not totally effective. The edges of the burgers don't separate cleanly since the paper separator is too small. Recipes are available on their website as well as FAQs. The products don't contain MSG, nitrites or preservatives. You can find them at most grocery stores and are often on sale at Food Basics.

I get home & open the boxes containing the tarts and to my surprise, the tarts are literally ROTTEN and have green spots on them. Thank God i have checked them before eating them myself or giving them to my kid. Food should be no joke & These tarts (containing eggs) should be kept in adequate temperature and NEVER be sold days after they're baked (they cannot get rotten in a day so God knows how long they have been sitting there for).
