I ordered one of my first wedding GOBOS from GOBO Man a little over a month ago. They have SO MANY choices to choose from when it comes to wedding and party designs. It takes a little bit of time for things to be made HOWEVER, I prefer it that way, because the design comes out much crisper and beautiful. My bride and groom were extremely satisfied and overjoyed that they got to keep their specially made GOBO at the end of the night. Used them for many years and we had so many great experiences but also some very BAD ones. Many times we would get misspelled designs or shipping didn't come in time! When these things happened I had to refund the client a partial amount of the contract since we do package deals. The brides were LIT when their names were misspelled or didn't arrive in time! When I contacted them about this which was often them always back peddled and began to blame it on the shipper like UPS or whoever they used! One year we spent over $1800. On just this site for gobos. The customer service was NONE I dealt with a "Rebel" whom I tried many times to clarify issues and he/she never picked up! When I was in a pinch I offered for me to do a will call which I got no response. Some of the errors they did refund me the amount of the purchase but that didn't cover the amount I had to refund the clients. So because of on going problems, lack of customer service and overall operations of this company we dropped them and will NEVER use this company ever! Now we use high output projectors with ease. I don't recommend this company or thier lack of customer service, with all the errors we experienced it's not worth it Update: the response from the owner/business rep. Here's my responses-look I had Many issues with you guys and because of that I moved away from using this dinosaur type of service. I recommend to button up your operations and hire extra staff who will do the things you won't or can't handle. 1st time hobo buyer and had trouble figuring out how to place an order. I reached out but still was met with complications. now "when" not "if" there are complications, goboman only communicates via email, I would have paid the 20 dollar difference for other alternatives like Rosco or goboplus, much difference response at those companies. STAY AWAY!!! This company absolutely sucks when it comes to customer service. They drag their feet with production/shipping, even when you pay for expedited shipping. They never answer the phone and are cavemen to email inquiries. I would recommend Goboman to anyone looking for a gobo. I needed a gobo for my wedding and Goboman did a great job from start to finish. The service was friendly and prompt and I couldn't be happier with the finished product. With the help of Rebel, the design process was easy and straight forward. Rebel was easy to get in touch with and quickly responded to my email questions about the process. Rebel was very helpful in helping me review the proof of my design and tweak it to get it just right. The result was a beautiful custom gobo that used the calligraphy from my wedding invitation. I was clueless as to what was needed to project the gobo, so thankfully Rebel gave me specific questions to ask my wedding DJ (who would be projecting the gobo) to ensure I ordered the correct size gobo and to ensure the DJ had the correct equipment. This was super helpful and gave me peace of mind in knowing that my gobo would look great on my wedding day. read more

DO NOT BUY FROM THEM! After ordering a projector and a custom colored gobo, and paying another 100$ for expedited shipping, they contacted me and asked for more money!!!! Saying that their website has an error and you need to add more money for shipping. After that, it became the worst back and forth ever! They are rude, ignored me, didn't help when needed and didn't even deliver everything I ordered. It's a shame that's how they treat customers especially when they spend over 1,500$ on their site. Response to Goboman: I haven't received everything! I paid for a proof for the colored gobo which I never received or confirmed. Also, the gobo holder you sent me is the wrong size for the colored gobo or the steel one. I tried talking with you about this but still haven't got a response. I was helping out a friend with her event. I did a rush order from this company for a $249 gobo. I asked if they could ship overnight Fedex or I could send a messenger? They said they would only ship UPS... you can guess what happened next. UPS lost my package and I spent 4 hours of my event install time on the phone and trying to piece together a custom gobo when I was supposed to be managing a large crew. Shit happens. However, as of today, I have not received a credit as promised, a returned phone call or email. And the event was 17 days ago. I will have disputed the charges with VISA at this point. read more

If I had written this review last year, it would have been a different story. I have been a customer of Goboman for two years now. I've purchased 8 different gobos. As long as my orders have not needed any response or support from staff, my experience has been fine and I would have recommended them. Now, that I have been asking for their help in tracking down a receipt so I can bill the total amount I spent on gobos to a client, my requests have been met with rude, short responses, pissy attitudes and staff who act like I have no right to request a receipt for my order. I'm in the business for lighting... I order gobo's from many sources however these guys advertise being $10.00 cheaper than most vendors so I decided to give them a shot. I placed an order on their website for a gobo and even uploaded the artwork online on their website. Two weeks later they let me know that they still don't have my artwork like I failed to fulfill my end of the contract. I then emailed them the artwork and they did not respond and I decided to call customer service and spoke with Rebel and she said they didn't receive my artwork so my order still hasn't been processed. At this point I'm frustrated however I take a deep breathe and keep my calm. I ask her over the phone and say "I'm emailing it again right now, can you stay on the phone with me for a minute and let me know if you receive the artwork"... She replies "No I'm not near a computer". I called your office line right? No wonder you didn't get my artwork there's no computer to be found near your office to download my artwork. I swear in a service business that especially caters to weddings they should learn something about customer service and talking to people. If you want gobos you should contact Rosco directly or another local lighting vendor. I would have paid $100 bucks extra to avoid dealing with these people. UPDATE: 9/8/15 I am pleased to say that the folks at Goboman reached out to me via yelp.com and offered to make things right and offered me a gobo so that I can see how they have improved. I must say that things have drastically improved. The response time was much more to what I would expect from a professional service. I am not saying any of this because the gobo was free, that was just a bonus. It really was much better service. In addition I put the pressure on because this particular Gobo was not just for any wedding, it was for my own upcoming wedding. The Gobo was ordered, a confirmation received and they quickly produced my Gobo without any issues. It arrived in 8 days after I ordered it. I will be giving them another chance in hopes that they will keep up the good work from here on out. I'm glad I found out early on how absolutely painfully bad their customer service is. Rude, inattentive and completely unfeeling individuals run this show. So much yes! Fist off cheapest custom gobo I could find with a quick search, but also they rock. My client surprised me with last minute gobo requests and they not only cranked them out in record time but they emailed me with an error that they caught with no help from me whatsoever. HORRIBLE customer service... From the day we placed our custom gobo plate order, to the day we received the faulty plate, our experience was not good. If you're looking to get any answers from this company... why you never received a requested proof, updates on the order progress, a receipt for your order, why your order was not functioning properly, what to do with your non-functional plate... Whether it is via phone or email, good luck! Rebel Hoffman was quite the rebel when it came time to servicing her customer. Not only did she offer a refund for the faulty plate, but when it came time to following through, it was a repeated answer of "custom gobo plates are not refundable." The best part of our experience was when they sent a used tube of glue, a bezel (which was missing from our plate, causing it to not be functional), and a post-it note of instructions on how to adhere the bezel to our plate. In the end, we spent $469.90 for a custom gobo plate that we had to assemble ourselves! This is not acceptable in our eyes. Again, good luck working with this company. read more
