The GPS is a combination of turn-by-turn directions and a personal tour guide explaining local attractions.

We did a 2 hour rental and had a fabulous time exploring. Instructions were on point and the audio tour was informative. Check in and check out were easy. Def glad we did it in Monterey and could def see it would be a little intimating in a larger city.

Super fun little go cart to rent for a couple hours. Would recommend the 2 hour tour and driving up the coast. Car worked fine and the audio tour was decent. Fun random thing to do on a summer day- bring a jacket!

    Enjoyed our drive.

Really enjoyed renting the slingshot. The employee (Alex) was super helpful, friendly and provided a great experience for us. I highly recommend GoCar Tours!

    Car

When we got there Alex had a current customer walk back and say their car wouldn't turn back on. Alex politely asked us to wait outside so he could run help them get fixed up. He returned 10 minutes later and got us all situated. He gave us extra time because of the inconvenience. Super helpful and the overall experience was great. And the cars are super fun to drive and man are they easy to park.

We did the GoCar Tour in Monterey in June 2025 and had an amazing time! It was such a fun and unique way to explore the area. The customer service was incredible. The route was beautiful--full of scenic stops and coastal views. We were able to pull over at multiple spots to take pictures, enjoy the ocean breeze, and just take in the beauty of Monterey and Pacific Grove. The GPS-guided narration made the drive super easy to follow, and it felt like a mix of sightseeing and a little adventure. We had zero issues with the car or the route, and the whole process--from check-in to return--was smooth and well organized. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a memorable, open-air way to see the coast. A perfect activity for couples or anyone who wants to do something a little different than the typical tour!

Always an amazing time, have done it twice!!! Got a group of 10+ cars together and ran around monterey and carmel. Will come back for years ahead.

Make sure your helmets are on the whole time you're in the car ;)

I booked a Sea Car Tour for my husband and I on a Sunday and it was such a fun experience. I called a week in advance and booked over the phone. We arrived about 45 minutes early to make sure we didn't lose any time because you do need to fill out paperwork and present proof of car insurance and your drivers license. 21+ are eligible to drive. We were able to start our tour a few mins early which was great. I reserved the E-Coupe which is a newer car and the staff considers it a "motorcycle". The views throughout the tour were stunning and in the E-Coupe we could hear the guide from the tablet perfectly. We did a 2 hour tour and that was plenty of time to see great views of the ocean, stop at the lighthouse and stop multiple other places to take a few pictures. It was an awesome experience!

If I could drop 1.5 stars, this review would be 3.5. But I'm going to leave it at 3. August 2021: I'm disappointed that they gave my parents a wrecked/ ugly car. (See photos) It's kind of funny to me that they didn't even give my parents the cars next to my rental sea car? I wonder why tbh. We even tried asking for a nicer looking car but with no hesitation, the broken car was supposedly one of "best working cars" lol yet there was one right next to ours and when we came back after strolling the wharf, cars in the second row were gone. It was my parents first time and it was pretty obvious, so of course, as their child, I would want them to have a full-almost-perfect experience; especially with something "fun" like this. Except nope, let's just give some oldies a jacked up car. Another thing that was different with this second time around was, I guess, they don't pull the sea cars outside the lot anymore (which is inconvenient because it could get backed up in the parking lot). Other than the above, we still made the most out of this experience.

My boyfriend and I took a trip to Monterey to for some out of town fun. We reserved a couple of sea cars to fill out itinerary. This was so fun and really made our trip a great one! We reserved two scoot coupes (1 for each of us) for a one hour tour. The cars were easy to use and worked great. We traveled around Monterey and the views were absolutely breath taking. The tour had really cool facts and information for us. I would absolutely do this again! I would love to try the 3 hour tour next time.

He made us feel completely safe throughout. We were blessed enough to spot a few whales, which made the views even more exciting. We were celebrating my boyfriend's 30th birthday, so we had an impromptu photo shoot. Christian captured beautiful photos of us that we cherish! He allowed us to connect our playlist to the speakers, or choose one on his Spotify, and enjoy. While he gave us plenty of private time to soak in the breathtaking scenery, we also loved chatting with him and hearing about his life during the tailend of the trip. This was an incredible experience, and we can't wait to sail with Christian again when we're back in the area. Don't hesitate to book this adventure--you won't regret it!
