Jacob saved our holiday season! We had a full room lose power despite the breaker being fine. Another electrician spent an entire day investigating the problem and charged us $500 despite not solving the problem. Totally fair to have to pay for a person's time, but it really felt like a waste when Jacob was able to diagnose the issue in a couple of hours during a free consultation and return a few days later to fix it quickly. I hired Jacob to install a ceiling fan (with a new dimmer switch) and Ring floodlight in locations without wiring and he exceeded all expectations. Jacob arrived on time (he called me and asked if he could arrive early in fact). He was extremely friendly when he arrived, came into my home and I showed him where I would like the lights installed and then he got to work. Jacob was extremely professional. He asked a few questions about the install (my preferences) and then had the fan together in less than 10 minutes. Shortly after that, he had it on the ceiling. He then attached the floodlight to the house, ran wiring from the fan to the new switch and the floodlight. He then climbed in the attic and ran power to the new appliances. He did all of this in under 3 hours. When Jacob left he made sure he left no trace of his presence. He had laid plastic floor and furniture covers over the area he was working to catch any debris that may arise from the installations. The only downside is that since these guys are THE BEST, they were booked solid for weeks, so we had to schedule pretty far in advance. I had a difficult job to move and install two chandeliers. One was large and heavy and was to attach to a 19 ft ceiling. Jacob had several good ideas that made the job doable instead of almost impossible. He obviously had a lot of experience. I just had a great experience with this electrician. I had some nagging, minor electrical work that needed to be addressed. I found Jacob on Yelp and he had some great reviews. He's really busy (because he's good), but he set the appointment for 5 days after my call. He's really good-natured, and great with my dogs (who aren't barkers, anyway). He went about diagnosing and changing light fixtures, replacing doorbells and a few other things I need done. He worked on his own, ran for parts needed, all while informing me as to what he was doing and why. He's a real contractor, so no money was needed up front. I apologize to Jacob for such a late posting. My work was completed on Jan 4. I totally agree with all the "Yelpers" who posted before me. Goch and Sons Electric is every 5 star comment as stated before mine. Jacob is 100% awesome. Super professional, reasonable, honorable and stays true to his quote. His work is nothing but top notch. It was such a pleasure to have him and his brother Bob in my home working on several electrical projects. Before the work began, Jacob came by to provide a reasonable estimate. He explained how the work was going to be performed and provided several time periods when he was available. During the day of the job, Jacob and his brother arrived promptly and worked diligently the entire day on all the projects we agreed on. In fact, I had additional work that kept him over by several hours. Instead of rescheduling, he touched base with other clients and was able to work me in the rest of the day. Both he and his brother worked into the dark evening hours to complete the work. The different projects consisted of both exterior and interior wiring for security lights, surveillance cameras, outlets, drop pendant lights and a holiday lighting receptacle with a breaker and timer. The working conditions that day was by far perfect. It was raining steadily and I offered to have his truck parked inside the garage, but he declined. There was also a lot of time spent in our home's tight attic space to fish wiring throughout the house. I also had several trade people come by throughout the day to address other homeowner issues which didn't phase Jacob the least bit. Both he and Bob simply worked around everything. An important note: If there were questions, it was asked consistently by Jacob and Bob before any work was performed by assumption. I was so confident that I just went about doing other things and just checked in from time to time. Always getting a "we're good" from Jacob and his brother Bob....also a certified licensed electrician coming from Antioch in his own work van! We had hired Jacob a couple of times since 2015 and now wanted an estimate for wiring an induction range in our new home. SMUD is currently offering a $750 gas to induction rebate so it seemed a good idea. Unfortunately the install was very complex and the cost of copper has skyrocketed making the estimate out of our budget. New plan, install a new range hood. Again Jacob delivered!
