Updating my review to reflect how things were ultimately resolved. I chose Solir Electric based on their strong Yelp reviews. They were friendly upfront and quoted me for installing a Tesla Universal Wall Connector at 40A with a permit included, with a fallback if the City rejected. The physical installation itself was completed and looks fine. Unfortunately, the permit process became a major issue. I later learned the permit was being rejected due to load calculation problems, and despite multiple attempts, it was never finalized. After going back and forth, it became clear that neither the original 40A plan nor the fallback plan would be approved on my existing 100A panel. In the end, they chose to step away from the permit process rather than pursue additional solutions. To their credit, they did make a good-faith effort to resolve the situation financially and refunded me $800. I ultimately paid about $1,200 for the installation. The charger works, but I will need to handle permitting and final compliance on my own moving forward. Overall, I think they do solid installation work, but the planning and permit side fell short. What service! I reached out to the company late Monday evening and they replied within 5-10 minutes. They quoted the lowest out of everyone that replied. I got an appointment scheduled for the next day, estimated between 12-2. The technician showed up at 12:10. He wore coverings for his shoes, and laid out a ground cloth before working. The fluorescent ceiling light in my kitchen went out, so I decided to upgrade to LED. Solir performed the work quickly, affordably and effectively, so I want to support this small business with five stars Two areas I want to mention, however, for other customers: 1) The repair window was 1-2pm. This technician arrived almost an hour earlier, just after noon. Not a huge deal because I was home abd just eating lunch; for others, it may have been an issue 2) The technician spoke little to no English. He was a very quiet and polite young man that completed the task in about half an hour, but I had great difficulty communicating with him. This seems important to be able to ask about price, time, components, movement in the house, etc. In the end, the job was completed and paid for with some assistance by calling the "office"'on speakerphone, but it is something to prepare for. Started out with an estimate for a 200amp panel upgrade with riser. Victor came out gave me a reasonable estimate and came up with a plan for cleaning up some issues I had with a previous electrician.
