John Luminare runs a very professional and service-oriented business! We requested John to install a 240V 50 Amp Outlet in our garage for an EV Charger. John was incredibly responsive, professional and customer-focused throughout the process. He came to our home the next morning and provided a detailed estimate. This was a fairly complex installation, taking the 240V power from a subpanel in the kitchen, running 70-80 feet of very thick #6 Romex cable up into the attic, and down into the garage wall, and then installing a new 50A breaker in the kitchen subpanel. He and his assistant, Tommy, were highly punctual, neat and efficient in the process. They did a fantastic job providing a recessed outlet in the wall, rather than the less desirable surface mounting with pipes running across the wall to conceal the wires. They cleaned up behind themselves and made sure to fully test the new outlet before they left. John's personality is so great to work with- virtually everything we asked for, the answer was always "yes," and he was never inpatient with our questions. Requested John for a quote and he stopped by one evening and gave me a quote to help install an EV charger for my home which was the best from a few that i had received from other electrical companies locally. Far less than a few big name ones that you see driving around in vans and trucks. We addressed a date and time over text messages and John came out on the scheduled date and started work at 9.00 AM. John and his assistant just needed the space to complete his task. John did an amazing job and I have nothing other than saying John did a wonderful job. John is very reliable and I know it can get busy at times. John even addressed the inspection with the Roseville electric company. I am only waitinf for inspection to be complete at this time. From the beginning, John had great communication with my husband and was easy to schedule with for both a quote and for the actual work. He was able to accommodate our preferred day even though it was last minute during the week. There was one small accident where one of the glass globes for our vanity light was broken when they were opening the box, but John offered to cover the cost for the replacement. He and his team were otherwise careful when setting up and working, so that there was minimal clean-up on our end needed after. Unfortunately we did not experience 5 star service, like all the wonderful Yelp reviews say. Which was the main reason we reached out to John. John did a full replacement of our old electrical box and as time progressed a few missteps occurred. Our first issue was that after the replacement we no longer had light in our garage and when we reached out he stated that it was probably not working before the install. It was not. It's very frustrating to been talked down to on a consistent basis. Second issue a few months later, we had condensation issues (not electrical) and had roofers & other contractors check out our place. They all said it could most likely be an insulation issue right where the electrical box was installed. When we reached out to follow up if he has photos/remembers replacing the insulation he replied with "I don't recall". When we had our wall cut to see the situation, there was no insulation right where John's work had been done. Recently we dealt with our kitchen lights going out , but the rest of the house was fine. It felt like pulling teeth just to verify any information. Anytime we've reached out for follow ups to see what was or wasn't done during install we got a lot of "I don't recall." It would have been easier if he was just honest and said "Hey, I didn't document anything. I'm sorry. Let me fix up the missteps". But that's asking for too much nowadays. We wish John well regardless because at the end of the day he needs to provide for himself just like we all do. read more

Luminare Electrical was the only smaller business electrician company to take the time needed to provide me an estimate for a 200-amp main electrical panel upgrade from SMUD's underground line. These underground upgrades take a lot of time and involve some uncertainty regarding trenching and working with SMUD to complete the job. John Luminare not only provided that estimate but provided the initial estimate for a 100-amp like-for-like panel upgrade from the 1972 Zinsco panel and a number of other wiring and light fixture tasks with a total of 3 estimates/changes.
