Our family is 4th generation of campers to this venue. They changed owners in 2022 and it has not been kept up since. If you're going to take the tv's - don't leave the apparatus up. If you're going to have an arcade - put "out of order" signs on the games that no longer work instead of leaving them there to eat everyone's quarters. The mini golf area is unacceptable. Just look at the photos. I would like to enjoy an evening on the cabin porch without tetanus from random nails sticking up and boards that are about to break. They bought cheap grills that don't accommodate a side burner to heat up food in a pot (why provide the pots in the cabin?). We stayed literally a day-and-a-half here from August 11-13th 2025. We fished and swam, which was fine. But there is nothing functional to do that works if it rains. This place sadly ended with generation 4. read more

Vacationland more like vacate this land. We had high hopes for a getaway with the kids but were let down. We read it was tailgate weekend but didn't know that would entail a dj playing so loud that we couldn't hear each other talk over 100 yards away. The "WiFi" is a joke, don't plan on being able to stream anything. The arcade stole at least 10 bucks in quarters and there is no one to ask about it. The mini golf had no balls and no carpet on most holes. The snack shack was run by children who had terrible attitudes and looked at us like we ordered escargot when my son ordered a ham and cheese. The guy actually said what's that and they had to refer to a recipe book. It's run down and in bad shape. There are way better options for your money in the area. read more

We have family who have a seasonal campsite here, which is the only reason we stayed here. We stayed here in September 2023 for 2 nights. The bath house is the worst I've seen during our 8-week trip. Truly disgusting. Ceiling tiles with water damage and falling out, and it was FILTHY. The campground is very loud. Varmints ate through our water hose. We notified the campground, and they came out, took a look, and said they had never heard of that happening before. Our site was separated from a seasonal site by an old wooden fence, and that site had piles of debris (old wood, roof shingles, etc.) piled up, which is most likely where the varmin were living. We did not use any of the other amenities such as pool, snack shack, laundry, etc. I've read other reviews and noticed that the positive reviews are often from seasonal residents. Like most other campgrounds that have both seasonal and day/week campers, the facilities provided for the seasonal residents are much nicer than those provided for the temporary campers. read more

We stayed here a week, try to get weekly rates, we work in the road so, had to find somewhere in this area. When you pull in there is a sign stating rv entrance, not sure where to stop so pulled in next to office. Checked in and asked if there were angled spot in the pull thru, they said no. I asked this from looking at the map layout. We walked to the sight to see if we would have any issues pulling our 44ft 5th wheel in. It was tight, roads very narrow, not really enough room for making 90 degree turns. Asked if we could and had to pull on grass to get into spot, Needed to park on angle or we will not be able to pull out. All spots in front of us had sheds from permanent spots The spot we had was on Thier only pull thru area. It was gravel thrown on a grassy area. We walked the parked last night and there are some really nice areas I was kinda disappointed at how unkept the short term area was, didn't make me want to come back here at all. Thank God there was no one in the area by us or we would have issues pulling in and getting out There is a neat kids play area. We brought our dogs with us, no sign states no dogs, and some grouchy permanent guy kept screaming from his rv, no dogs allowed in the park. We just looked at each other and kept playing. 1 dog laying in the cool,play sand and the other like going down the slide with our kids The guy screamed again, I screamed back, there are no signs stating no dogs allowed. No answer. I guess he must be the playground police. Someone in a golf cart after we left just stated that we have to have our dogs on a lease, which we did the whole time. In a nut shell, I thought this place was over priced, not very well maintained. And throw in some nasty guy who thinks he should run the park with no customer service skills whatsoever, and this was only the 2nd day of 7 days. This place has a weekly rate of $276. Goddard Park Vacationland Campground - Campgrounds Near Me - Sandy Lake, Pennsylvania

My review is from someone who has grown up in this campground. Of course, I'm biased, but I have years of experience with this campground. My aunt has a camp here and has been coming here for probably 30 years. I was not even 1 years old the first time I came here. I spent so many summers here, riding my bike, swimming and making friends. I love this camp. It holds a really special place in my heart. I think it's a great camp for children, and here's allllll the reasons why: -Dances every Friday and Saturday: they play awesome music (this was the first place where I heard Prince!) and they always have good crowds at the dances, with people young and old. It's definitely appropriate for kids. I do wish they would incorporate some live music here, but it's still awesome to just dance around in the pavilion. -Themed Weekends: my personal favorites are the weekends that are the busiest- Christmas in July and Halloween in August. There's a parade for Christmas in July and I always freaked out when Santa came. A lot of the campers will festively decorate their golf carts, which is always fun to see. Halloween in August is a lot of fun, I mean who doesn't love trick or treating twice a year? They decorate the barn in the middle of the campground and make it a haunted barn, which is super fun. It's not too scary, so young kids won't get too scared. -Movies in the camp: they have two separate areas where they will often show movies in the park. One is a covered pavilion and the other is in a wooded area. It's always fun watching movies outside! -Various activities including two pools, two parks, mini golf, bingo, an arcade, and a snack shack. -Safe place for bike riding: As a kid, the entrance did not have a pass to let you in, yet, I was always safe in this campground. I would ride around for hours and never once had a bad experience. Now, it's even safer, as all cars must check in and have a pass for the campground, making it so that not just everyone can come inside. They also have flea markets sometimes, and the Amish often come and sell their goodies here as well. Like I said, I'm biased towards loving this camp, as I grew up coming here. I understand how some folks might not want to come here for casual camping, as it is pretty heavy on the residential side. This campground is really popular, so it's usually pretty packed, especially on the weekends where they have special activities. However, I think it's a great place to bring kids and think that it's definitely a family campground. I highly recommend checking it out. read more

The girl owner lady was so disrespectful and so rude to us. She zips around in a yellow golf cart, she is so snobby. We got a noise complaint and she came over to our site and yelled at everyone for being way to loud. She also said that if we got one more complaint we were kicked out. Don't come here if you want to have a good time. You'll get yelled at and removed. The staff that work here are nicer than her. She could've been way nicer and approached us in a better manner! read more

Stay. Away. I was there this weekend (Labor Day weekend) and this place is the worst. Rude employees, especially security. Horribly run, super tight, they nickel and dime you, bathrooms are disgusting, one pool is closed the other is barely open ... I could go on and on. Stay away from this hellhole. read more

This is 80% seasonal campers with a secondary focus on daily/week campers. The place is jam-packed. Unreal actually. If reminded me of hillsides covered with shacks in India with literally 6-15 feet between units. Most facilities are in fair to borderline poor condition. The approach seems to be 1: Cover with paint and 2: Use more deck screws. The photos on the website are fantastic but, up close, you find a lot of broken, near-broken, or shabby stuff. The entire "vibe" was weird too. It was like you were coming into an existing cult, with a pack of painfully bored teenagers (by their own admission) aimlessly wandering, desperate for something to do. And there really is little to nothing to do here. The roads are good for little kids' bikes though. The pool was acceptable. My advice is to spend the day at nearby Goddard Lake which is almost idyllic and just use the campground for lodging. THAT SAID, we almost always camp at State Parks. It's a totally different vibe. No seasonal campers. Things are generally maintained. It's not a fair comparison - state parks are taxpayer subsidized. So there's where my personal expectations are not the fault of Vacationland, hence the 3 stars when really I felt like it was 1 at best. Plus it's pretty cheap so you do get what you pay for. Better campgrounds can be 50-80% more expensive. And it gives you that "National Lampoon's Vacation" experience - always good for some post-vacation stories. read more

We reserved our site along w 4 other sites and we told them the length of our campers. We could barely get in or out of our site. The place is extremely crowded. We were packed in like sardines. The amenities (bathroom, pool, bingo hall, etc) are in fair to poor condition. Teenagers are everywhere smoking and swearing. We had to park our truck where people were playing baseball. We got in an altercation with SECURITY because we were at the bathroom with our golf cart at 10:02. AND the dump station was broken AND we told them but they wouldn't even send someone to put a sign on it so people kept driving up to it and trying to use it. It was disgusting. I'd write a longer review but I'm done wasting any more time on this place. read more

We had a camper here while I was growing up and I loved it. The land itself is spacious and scenic.. two swimming pools (maybe 3 because I think there is one in retirement village), basketball courts, an arcade, MINI GOLF, a giant movie screen on a giant oak tree, a store that sells everything.from milk to sweatshirts to bait, shower and laundry facilities, a snack shack that has food and dessert & dance hall with dances every weekend. Speaking of that, every weekend is a holiday and has its own theme. My favorite was Christmas in July and Halloween in August (trick or treat plus haunted barn). Oh there's a hayride too. Came to the area to enjoy lake wilhelm with our kayaks and also ride the beautiful bike trail that surrounds it. We thought vacationland sounded nice because of the pools, etc. Do not be fooled! This place is not your typical campground .... The campsites are the tiniest I have ever seen. It is unreal how many people are jam packed in here. The worst part is the golf cart traffic ALL day long. I was afraid to have my kids riding bikes because of all of the golf carts cruising around and even when I was walking with them people would be flying past. I felt like I was in the twilight zone in this campground with concerts and loud music every night. We will not be returning as it is not the peaceful camping eri nice I was hoping for. I'm giving two stars because the bathhouses were clean and the kept up with the ports potties and their snack shack was a nice place for an afternoon ice cream cone. read more

This campground is the best place everyone is very nice and kind to each other. Near the lake so we always go kayaking

It was a nice campground. There is so many activities and the pools had lifeguards so the kids could swim without the parents having to be there. Only complaints are that the spaces are a little tight. I don't know that if I had to back the camper in if we would have been able to swing it. The other thing was it advertised level sights and our sight was anything but level. Had to raise the one side 5" to get close to level. They also stick us right by the sewage cover so we got a frequent blast of sewage smell. read more
