The coffee - some of the best we've ever had - my husband loved the Gear Shift (ginger beer and espresso) and both my iced vanilla latte and chai lattes were delicious. They even made a decaf latte for our coffee-loving 9 year old. But even better are their baked goods (lots of gluten free options and SO full of flavor) and bagels. Best everything bagel and veggie cream cheese I've ever had, with perfect texture and seasoning. The inside is super cute, and a nice outdoor area overlooking the river. In the early morning hours and sometimes even during the day - the surrounding hills cover with fog and you feel like you're standing on an island in the middle of the ocean. It's utterly breathtaking. (I highly recommend staying in the upstairs bedroom! Super comfy beds, an awesome bathroom/shower, and a perfect view of the rolling hills!) A large group of wedding vendors and I photographed a styled wedding on the property and we couldn't have been happier with the end result. There are acres and acres of beautiful trails to walk, a large pond full of fish, an awesome bonfire and outdoor bar, as well as a beautiful barn on the land. The space is utterly perfect for country or outdoor weddings! I cannot wait to visit again - both for professional reasons and for personal! Amazing wood framing and floors, private guest rooms (two share a large patio off the front of the house), two kitchens and so much more! The owners are the sweetest! They are more than helpful, accomodating, knowledgeable about the area (history and local events). Plus, they make a killer breakfast! As a "green girl" I sincerely appreciate the heath and sustainability of the couple and the property. Your eggs can be fried with coconut oil and paired with fresh vegetables from their garden. They compost and only clean with sustainable products. Also earth concious, they have solar panels and water efficient toilets. The rooms are cozy and the beds comfortable as can be. Even the pillows were great - I know because I usually have to travel with my own due to my TMJ. The master suite has a phenomenal hot tub (see pics) which is well worth the stay right there! Better than any of the finest hotel tubs in Vegas, which I know first hand. Note, it's right off a semi-busy street in town and you can sometimes hear the traffic, but when the windows and doors are closed you barely hear a thing. Caroll is a great hostess and wonderful cook. We used not only the rooms but the Garden Center for the bridal party hair and makeup, the pavilion and fire ring for the rehearsal dinner and the grounds for gorgeous bridal party pictures. Our wedding was not held there, but she hosts wedding as well. I would have loved to have more time to just enjoy the peace and quiet on the porch.

Cons: Everything was outdated and in need of an upgrade: cracked stained ceiling, old carpet, window air conditioning unit that sounded like it was going to take off. The private bathroom is across hallway- not connected to room and the window in bathroom did not open nor did it have an exhaust fan. The dorm fridge provided was hardly balancing on an old chair, not safe or stable at all. Lastly their breakfast was okay at best. I've had better breakfast at hotel chains that offer continental breakfast. All that was offered was scrambled eggs, sausage and some fruit. No homemade pastries,pancakes,potatoes, quiche or typical "Bed and Breakfast" food. No jelly or jam and the 4 slice toaster didn't cut it when you had a room full of people waiting to make toast. We were very disappointed, especially after reading the good reviews from others.

All canoes were shared between two people except one. The staff only charged him the price of half a canoe which was super kind! (~$35 each) They drove us down the river 15 miles which is typically a one night trip but, since we opted to float down the river instead of paddling, we spent two nights and three days on the river. The experience was great but I want to talk only about their service. On Sunday, we floated back to where our cars were parked and left the canoes by the river. It's an awesome service they provide and a really unique trip! I would recommend Eagle Rock to anyone. I drove 8 hours from Long Island and I would still recommend this service. The price cannot be beat by any providers in NY.
