I called around everywhere looking for a photographer to do a shoot for my daughters first modeling book, then I reached Anna. She was so quick, well organized and detailed in her response I decided to go with Goddard Studios. Anna made time to do the shoot within a few days because we needed the pictures soon. She arrived promptly at the meeting time in Balboa, which is a great location and she had many beautiful spots scouted there already. I loved how she gave me many suggestions of what to bring for the shoot and during she let me voice my opinion while still making the best clothing and prop choices for my daughter. Fast and efficient shoot. Most importantly my daughter had a blast! She overcame being shy because Anna was so welcoming and friendly with her. Great direction and helped my daughter to look natural while having a good time! Overall she was a delight to work with. Very professional, while fun and playful with my daughter. I am so thankful that we found and booked Anna for our wedding day :) From moment one, Anna was kind, thoughtful, and sensed exactly how we wanted our wedding pictures to go. She answered all my emails in a very quick fashion and she was always there to calm me down when I got stressed about my wedding. The day of, she showed up ready to work and used the shotlist we gave her so that each shot we wanted got done :) During our ceremony (and reception) you would hardly know she was there! She did her best to sort of blend into the crowd while also making sure she was taking pictures of each amazing moment. Wedding Photography by Anna Goddard I found this photographer from the preferred vendor list at my wedding venue. After meeting with several photographers, I chose her because she seemed to have an attention to detail that I liked and expected in terms of the quality of the photos. Unfortunately, I was underwhelmed by her work in the end and very disappointed with her character in general. Frankly, her photos are O.K., just that. Nothing special or creative like some of the other wedding photographers out there. Unfortunately, she didn't even hit the mark on the photos that I explicitly asked for in writing (with examples) well in advance of the wedding day. For example, I went through a lot of extra hassle and expense to achieve the lighting theme I wanted for my outdoor wedding, and told her specifically to capture certain posed shots of my husband and I under those lights. Nothing. She didn't get one. I asked for two photographers for the sole purpose of capturing a shot of me walking down the stairs to the aisle with the back of my long beautiful train. They did not capture a single shot. Its sad really, because without your photos you don't have these memories of your wedding in the years to come. During the reception dinner, they were not around, they did not capture any photos of the guests at their tables- basic wedding photography 101. Oh, but she took a hundred photos of my dress on the hanger and the shoes on the floor- something I did not emphasis that I wanted at all... Lastly, her personality. She was the most boring, unimaginative director of photography you could think of. She did not put me at ease or make me smile. She seemed more stressed out than I did!! And petty does not begin to describe this person. When reviewing the timeline with her days before the wedding she put up a huge argument about the timing, insisting that she leaves precisely at the 8 hr point, and not a second later (not even long enough for the cake cutting?!?!) Literally 2 days before the wedding she had me stressing, crying, thinking that she was going to bail out before some of the key events took place. I had to find and pay for a last minute photographer as a back up! Not at all the type of stress you expect from your photographer!! Now that I finally have the pictures, I'm not at all impressed. I asked for a few additional edits and of course was told that would be an additional charge. That's a joke.... Skip this studio and try something else for your big day. read more

Goddard Studios is the best! Goddard Studios was one of the photographers recommended by our wedding coordinator. We were planning a destination wedding in Southern California from our home in Australia, and had Skype meetings with a couple options. We chose Goddard Studios for a number of reasons and are so glad we did. Anna was so flexible with working with us to craft a photography package that fit our budget but didn't compromise on what was important to us. We also loved the style of their photos, which were crisp and clean and showcased the personalities of the subjects. Anna had done several weddings at our venue before, so she was familiar with where to get the best shots. But most importantly, since we weren't going to be be meeting our photographers until the day of the wedding, it was important for me to feel comfortable with the photographer without the benefit of warming up at an engagement photo session. I found Anna to be so sweet and passionate about her work during our Skype meeting that I knew she was the one for us. We did a first look at the Mission at San Juan Capistrano. It was right in the middle of the day so I was worried that the bright sun was going to be an issue but Anna and her husband Colin were true professionals and were able to make it work without any issues and took some amazing shots. We were running late in meeting them at the Mission so I was a bit stressed about not having enough time for all the photos I wanted, but Anna and Colin were very calm and made sure we got all the shots we wanted. Even though we hadn't done an engagement session, Anna and Colin made us feel very comfortable and relaxed in front of the camera. My husband hates taking photos and you wouldn't be able to tell from looking at the photos. After the first look we went the Casa Romantica for the wedding and reception. What I especially loved was that they took lots of photos during the reception of the guests. We were able to see all the fun and silliness that went on while we were busy doing the rounds and thanking everyone. After the wedding, Anna was super quick to get the photos back to us. And she was very accommodating with my requests for specific photoshop edits on some of the photos (for my own personal vanity reasons), which was appreciated. They took so many beautiful photos that I'll treasure for the rest of my life. I absolutely recommend Goddard Studios if you need a photographer. My wife and I love these guys! Both being new to the process, my wife and I started into to the daunting task of arranging/planning a wedding (begin self medicating here). With a little help from our venue's event manager we were off with a list of rental companies, dj's, dress manufacturers and last but probably most important, photographers. As an engaged couple, you get a lot of advice along the way. One piece that resonates the most true is: "In 20 years you wont remember any of this day, all you will have left are the photo's". So we dove head first into the process! Again being new to it all my head was spinning as to the cost of some of these services. And being in sales myself was becoming a little disheartened with all the 'extras' that were continuously being added to the bottom line. "Ill shoot at your day for 8k, but if you need my assistant(neighbor of my 2nd cousin twice removed) it will be an extra 4k". More aggravating was the lack of any separation in finished product. Cookie cutter albums with matching price ranges. Meeting with Anna was a breathe of fresh air! No canned pitches but sincere interest in our vision and expectations. After meeting with her and reviewing her photo's and albums (which are amazing) we were ready to sign up. Off to engagement shoot land! Anna was amazing in steering us in the right direction when it came to location and outfit choices. As you will find out yourself both Anna and her husband were in the modeling industry and have worked on both sides of the camera for many years. Being someone who does not enjoy the prospect of spending hours taking pictures and doing costume changes Anna was great at keeping it fun and interesting. We did a whirlwind tour of the southland starting in Knotts Berry Farm (thanks to her connections) and ending in Laguna Beach for some sunset photo's and family picks(dog friendly always a plus). By the end we had so many pictures it made it almost impossible to choose one for our save the date cards - (Anna saved the day on that one as well). So nothing says stress relief like adding more details to your wedding! The wife and I came up with the idea of making a life size gator board cut out for the entryway of our venue (immortalizing us and a fun party favor). Anna was extremely flexible and generous to come out to the beach with us a second time to find the perfect shot.......again. Wedding Day....Finally! There are many choices you can make about when to take the majority of your photos the day of. Wanting to spend more time with family and guests, the wife and I had opted for 'first look' shots before the ceremony began. However, due to unforeseen make up and hair delays this could not happen. Anna and her husband Collin were rock stars! Not only talking the wife back down off the ledge but completely re organizing the photo shoot so that we were swept away immediately following the ceremony to a tactical swat team of photographers (and golf carts) for romantic pictures and action shots all over our beautiful venue. Returning just in time for a few shots with loved ones and our grand entrance as husband and wife.......inhale....exhale. To top it off they were also amazing with our guests! Simultaneously channeling the fly on the wall and Austin Powers. All together we have over 1700 wedding pictures to choose from for our final album. We had the option to pick ourselves or to have Anna pick the shots f.or the album. We decided to have Anna, since it's really an art form that she practices at every day. After about a month, the process was finalized with the Goddard's presentation of our beautiful custom wedding album. We were also given a slideshow of amazing photos set to music that Anna had put together and surprised us with. I found Goddard Studios through an online search as I am based in New York but was planning my wedding in the Laguna Beach area. I was lucky enough to connect with Anna and I immediately knew she was the photographer for the job. Anna was first and foremost an amazing photographer. This review is long overdue. I was in need of a professional photographer on a very short notice to shoot photo's on two separate occasions 3 weeks apart. The event was for a public meeting which is way different from your typical wedding, anniversary celebrations or someone's birthday or retirement party. It was a very conservative event honoring the exit of 2 long term individuals who had served the community for 18 - 30 plus years. I wasn't certain who to contact so I turned to Yelp to begin my search. I contacted 6 photographers and only 2 responded to my cry. Goddard Studios Photography in Laguna Beach and one other studio who I will not mention. Although both photographers responded, only one actually followed through with confirming their commitment and providing me with a proposal for the services. The other photographer totally flaked out and never provided me with the proposal as I had requested even after I provided them with the list of shots I needed. It goes to show that all things happen for a reason. When Anna Goddard contacted me and said she was available for both dates, it absolutely made my day! Anna arrived at the location early and was surely committed. She moved about the room with poise and finesse attentive and sensitive to the order and flow of the agenda for the night. Anna is pleasant to work with and willing to be flexible to whatever the situation dictates. She is a natural and has a good eye for capturing the moments. Don't be fooled by some of the reviews posted. Do your homework, talk to the photographers and ask lots of questions. Collin and Anna Goddard photographed my wedding back in August 2013. I cannot be happier with everything they have done. My husband was nervous about the engagement shoot and Anna made him feel so comfortable in front of the camera. To my surprise the engagement photos came out so amazing. They truly capture "The Moment". One of the biggest things that you get when you hire the Goddards is that there are two (2) of them. When you have two photographers, they can really capture every moment. After seeing my wedding photos, there was not a moment missed. I absolutely adore this photography team. They are so talented. Their lifetime spent in the industry truly shows in all they do. We hired them for two different jobs, & referred them to another, & all came out top knotch. The Family portraits were so well posed & lit, it looked like the kids were professionals themselves. Then we had them photograph our rental property for the VRBO & again it was the gold standard compared to all other ads across the world. Then when I referred them to a friend for a 50th wedding anniversary & family portrait, the couple cried with joy when it was all presented later, home run. I think they are also very nice family people with good ethics. It was a pleasure doing business with them, I'm positive we'll do business witht them again in the future. I already thought it was a great value because of the highest level that can be expected in the industry for print/ads. If they ever do a groupon, I'd be all over that, it would give us an excuse to get that wedding album finally done. Especially by them, the airbrushing makes all their brides look like professional models, as Anna Marie reminded us, those models are airbrushed also. Collin and Anna Marie are the absolute best! We researched several photographers both local to where we live here in CA as well as local to the Riviera Maya, Mexico area where we had our wedding. Out of all the photographers we looked at, Goddard Studios had the most natural and beautiful work that we'd seen.We had Anna and Collin cover our Welcome Party the day before, the Wedding, and a trash the dress session the day after. They worked crazy hard the whole time we down there and were very professional and a pleasure to work with. Collin and Anna Marie are so passionate about what they do, they had no problem lieing down in the wedding aisle, getting dirty in the sand and even going fully in the water with their equipment to get the best angles and most creative shots. I was a little apprehensive when they suggested my hubby and I should run off the side of the pier and jump in the water during the trash the dress shoot (note, it was completely my choice to trash my dress. =) ) This ended up being the total money shot! They covered every aspect of our destination wedding and captured so many wonderful candid moments with our guests. It's incredible how so much of it goes by in a blur and it's so great to have their photos to remember such a special occasion in our lives forever. We absolutely love our photo album as well as the slideshow set to music that Anna created. She did such a lovely job selecting the best photos and formatting the album so that the pictures tell the whole story. The album was handmade in Italy and is absolutely beautiful. We've gotten so many compliments on our photos and several friends have even said that our album is the most beautiful wedding album they've ever seen (I know it's the most beautiful I've ever seen!). My husband and I chose Collin and Anna Goddard as our wedding photographers after we saw samples of their work. We were very impressed and made an appointment to meet with them. We were impressed with their work and loved that they were a husband/wife team. Throughout the planning process they were always readily available to speak to, email etc. and always got back to us in a timely manner. When planning a wedding that is on the top of the list. Some of my vendors were so hard to get a hold of and would not get back to me for several days. The Goddard's are very creative and captured many special moments from our wedding day.
