Please avoid Pets at Home vets like the plague. They do not care about the animals they only care…read moreabout the money. My rabbit broke her leg, my dad took her here and they said they would need to operate and would he please deposit £500-600 with them for surgery. My dad loved my rabbit so much he did as he was told. I got a call at work from a male "vet" who said her leg was broken in too many pieces to mend, and he said he had to amputate. I asked him if he did an X-Ray, he said no. I said, so how do you know it's broken in too many places? He said, he can feel it. I asked how long I had to decide, he said, in the next 5 minutes. It is months since this incident and I must say, this vet scarred me for life. They are so uncaring and they expect you to tell them they can cut off your rabbit's leg in the same day? I still get angry thinking about them. I spoke with another helper lady there, and told her I needed more time to decide this, at the same time I asked her if there were overnight fees and she said no, take your time. Finally I discussed with my family and we decided we wanted a second vet opinion and tried to transfer my pet there. They would not let my dad take the bunny away because "It would be cruel, she would be in pain". In the end we had to get the new vet to call them up and get the file before they will let us take our pet away. Would you believe it, because of this they charged us an extra day of "day fee" around £30. Surprise surprise, they charged us "day fees" for keeping a rabbit in a small pet cage in their store, this is notwithstanding the morphine they were pumping into her which was also charged at extortionate prices. They even tried to charge us the higher "day fee" for a cat instead of a rabbit, what a farce! The good news is, my 2nd vet took the X-Ray, it was one clean break, they put a pin in and my rabbit is now back to normal. If I listened to these heartless people, my rabbit would have been the innocent victim of greed and would now have 3 legs instead of 4.

Instead of compassion, I was met with shocking rudeness from the brunette woman at reception. She immediately told me she couldn't help me because I'm not on benefits. Then, rather than offering any support, she began commenting on my age -- I'm 17 -- and said I shouldn't be responsible for a pet and that I was being irresponsible. I came in seeking help for an injured animal, and instead I was judged and spoken down to. What makes this even more upsetting is that when my mom later spoke to the same staff member, she claimed that they help everyone -- not just people on benefits. The complete contradiction and the way I was treated differently is incredibly concerning. No one asking for help with an injured pet should be met with judgment or dismissiveness, especially not a young person trying to do the responsible thing. The lack of empathy and professionalism was honestly heartbreaking during an already stressful situation.

Despite being a charity also struggling to raise funds they then stepped in when no one else would for my cat Sox, they agreed thanks to Celia to fund what was needed and give me time to fund any surgury, this included x rays blood tests pain relief interpretation of xrays potential transport of patient to other branch out of hours visit by nurse for top up medication to name just a few things she needed Sox had a fractured pelvis meaning surgury was an absolute must they where happy to give me time being so kind compassionate and understanding of my situation to try and do this despite how hard they may find getting funds to support all the animals just like my sox! Then a Celia Hammond Supporter and myself had a conversation before I knew it thanks to such amazing people sox has surgury in the next few days to correct her fractured pelvis...!! I will be eternally greatful for the intervention celia Hammond did... Putting the whole of the rest of London in pure shame for their encouraging an animal to suffer without treatment proof of eligibility or even payment plan offer yet celia Hammond in true form showed the rest of London what it means to truelly show an animal care compassion and fight for them the way these other charities claim they do, cannot imagine where we'd be without their support honestly so please where able please do donate because it directly helps cats like my Sox actually have a chance... Thanks to their Lewisham branch for diagnostics and their canning Town branch for the surgury Celia herself for her truelly inspirational continued fight for my sox and all other animals in need... We are forever greatful to you all as an organisation doing your very best for those of us left with no hope Equally they can only do this with donations so please if you are in a position to however large or small please please consider donating

I have to leave something here for Emily and her team at Goddard Vet Mile End, past and present…read more We have since left the area and leaving our wonderful vet behind was quite sad for us, and we took for granted the fantastic compassion, knowledge, honesty, and genuine care that they provided us with our three cats and two dogs. It seemed like we were never out of there sometimes as one cat developed what was swiftly diagnosed as pemphigus at just 6 months old, and one of our dogs was presenting with itchy skin; again, swiftly managed, and then diagnosed as an allergy to various dust mites. He was in remission after starting a course of immunotherapy. I cannot sing the Mile End team's praises enough; we had been with them since around 2011 but when Emily arrived it was noticeably different. She is quick to build a rapport, and always took the time to explain things to me and/or my other half and never dumbed it down or avoided answering questions, as unfortunately some vets do. Our pets were always treated with love and care, and expertly handled. Not once did I leave feeling like I had been fobbed off or given bad advice or treatment. The whole team were friendly, always lovely even when they were having a tough day, and always took the time to go the extra mile (end :P) I emailed them the other day as I had a reminder for one of our dogs' kennel cough vaccine, and sadly our other dog has since passed away so I wanted to let them know so we wouldn't get any reminders for our beloved pup. They sent a very touching and kind email back, and when my other half returned from London today I found that in our post was a card from them, offering sympathy for our lovely boy even though we no longer see them. We are so very touched by this and I want to sing their praises from the roof tops! It was only when we moved and registered with the vet closest to us that we realised how special Mile End actually are. We have since found a new super-vet further afield, but we still very much wish that 350 miles wasn't so far to go for a visit to Goddard! In short they are animal superheroes :)

I had been a customer at Animal Ark since it opened. The reason I came was that the owner, Lyndon…read morereally cared about my pets and showed empathy. During Lyndon's reign I would, without question, have given 5 stars. Since the practice was taken over by Linnaeus, the standard has not only dropped, but the vet's in general do not have the same standard before the takeover. It is also very difficult to see a regular vet as they are so busy. When calling the practice, you are put on hold for ages before the phone is answered and on occasions, answered and kept holding for 10-15 mins. One of the biggest issues I have is that the invoices for treatment are very difficult to understand and more than often I'm having to ask the reception to breakdown the invoices for me. I have had to correct a few invoices once explained to me. It doesn't take many people to have the same issue before the practice makes thousands... My point is this; being a big practice doesn't mean that it is better. In my experience, it means longer waits on the phones, a vet that doesn't know your pet as you can't guarantee the same vet and the possibility of incorrect invoices, probably due to staff turnover and inexperience. I would like to say that Lionel is a fantastic vet and I would highly recommend him. Unfortunately, we won't see Lyndon there any time in the near future... 11/04 Since writing my original review, I have decided to leave Animal Ark. I have been there from the beginning, but the practice has changed so much that I can no longer take my pets to such a poor practice. The last issue was on the 31st of March where the practice charged a consultation fee of more than £38 for each of my kittens. They were seen for less than 10 mins. The Program treatment was on top. The bill total was just under £270. The practice wants to charge you more and spend less time with you. For me, enough is enough. Corporate greed is put BEFORE my animals welfare. Linnaeus, I'm waiting for you to defend what I have written, but the mere fact that you haven't suggests to me that you have no defence to my statement.

I was rejected from my insurance, and Goddard refused to help in any way, so I had to use my savings, and put about £6,000 on my credit cards, in trying to save her. A few weeks later, their tactless and callously abusive vet who in the same sentence as was telling me my girl wouldn't make it from a uterine infection that had occurred due to her low immune system recovering from surgery, also stated it was, and I quote, "my fault she was dead, for not getting her fixed;" they're a disgustingly cold and money hungry practise, and they all should be deeply ashamed to work for such a company. They have spent countless hours and resources squeezing me for the debt over the last few years, never once offering any help with the situation. They have now sent me to collections on the final few hundred, after I asked them to clarify my remaining amounts. I advise everyone I know and meet with pets not to use their services unless absolutely necessary, as they are only concerned about the money, and i feel treatment is often substandard (see other reviews online to corroborate these observations). There are many other veterinary practices and emergency vet hospitals out there who will actually value you and your beloved friends, you have been warned..

They scammed me like no any other scammers will do. they said my cat will be absolutely fine after a simple procedure of unblocking his urinary, but they knew straight away, that he is going to die but they never told me this, they didn't give me any choice, they just said he will be treated and I have to pay for treatment, but they didn't ask me if I want to leave him for this procedure if there is no chance for him to survive and now they want me to pay them £3000, for his death, which they knew about before but never told me about. They do not record your conversation with vet on the admission, where you get scammed, so now they say I have no evidence of what she said. They obviously doing it on purpose to scam you. Please whoever going to their hospital, you must record secretly what they promise you, so you can have an evidence of their scam. But better don't go there, because they will never save your pet, they just will let pet die, because they know, that they can extract money from you one way or another, so why bother even try something. It's better to let your pet die for free at home, than pay to those scammers. Stay far away from this nasty scammers.
