The wife and I live out in the "boonies" north of Poplar Bluff, inside that section of Mark Twain National Forest. We generally only make one trip a month into Poplar Bluff to do our grocery shopping and eat at one of our favorite places. My wife had never eaten at Godfathers before last year, but it's now her favorite pizza place. Due to medical conditions she can't eat much pork, so most pizza toppings are just out of consideration, but once she tried their Loaded Baked Potato pizza she was hooked. We come in for the lunch buffet and the employees make sure to get one of "her" pizzas out on the line ASAP if there's not one out there already as that one and their Taco pizza is what she's after, while I feast on the pepperoni and sausage ones that she can't eat! The dining area is always clean and someone will come through often to clear tables. There's always plenty of plates available and fresh pizza constantly replenishing the buffet. I used to eat here regularly a few years ago but now whoever is the cook at dinner time makes the worst pizza Ive ever seen. Came in to try the dinner buffet a couple times and the crust is usually tough old and toppings burnt. Or its not cooked all the way, no in between. The side bar food was old and dried out. Dinner manager always seems angry and mean to her employees. At least the cashiers are usually nice and monkey bread is still good. So today I went and grab a pizza big fan of godfather's hard stuff. I went in just a little bit before one. It's very cold day. I did notice the pizza buffet was set up when I went in. About 5 minutes after one a family of 5 comes in. And one's the buffet. It's a cold day.That family was probably looking for some good comfort food. Even though the website says the buffet closes at two, they had already shut it down.Told the family there was no buffet today. I went and asked and the response I got was their boss told them to close the buffet early. It's unacceptable. read more

We haven't been able to eat at the buffet in four months. Went on a Tuesday, October 24, 2023 around 5 PM. It was AWFUL! Poor selection, what was out was either cold or reheated. The crust wasn't edible. They only brought out one fresh pizza while we were dining, however it had onion on it, which my friend won't eat. I took a bite of pepperoni immediately spit it out, tasted like refrigerator! This is the problem with most buffets anywhere in Poplar Bluff, leaving food out or reheating previously served items! Very disappointing, especially when paying $27.00 and that's with the discount! Won't be back anytime soon! read more

Was in town n been a long time n was excited about Godfathers Pizza.. Very disappointed .. 3 ppl working salad bar trashed and empty , tables dirty , pizza was ok but no large crust ??? In a pizza joint ?? There was only us n 1 other table the whole time we were there .. This place needs cleaned up n attended too !! read more

I love Godfather's Pizza and remember eating at the one in Poplar Bluff, MO when I was a kid. Sadly I have not been able to have it in years because they just don't have them where I am living now. On a return trip to the area to visit family I picked up a large pepperoni and a medium taco pizza. There is just nothing like Godfather's crust and sauce. The staff was very friendly and patient because I kept changing my order unable to initially make up my mind... The establishment was clean and the pizza is excellent. I'm so glad that this location is still open. I wish there were more of these open. read more

Wasn't bad. As usual being it's a buffet after 5, you're kind of at the mercy of how long the foods been sitting there. The salad dressing was bland, almost all of the desserts were harder than they should've been, the pasta was ok, the pizza was good. The store overall wasn't all that clean. Floors weren't as clean as they should be and some of the seats/booths weren't wiped down very well either.
