It seems like a great spot for groups of friends and families, with a welcoming vibe. Our server, KK, was very friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. The food was good, with generous portions that definitely gave us the energy we needed for the rest of our drive. The pork steak was a standout for me--well cooked and full of flavor. Service was good, server was friendly! We went about 3:00. Floor in the upper eating area was dirty with food. Broom standing against one of the tables. Several tables not cleaned off. It was not crowded. I mentioned the food in the floor by our table to the server but there was no response. My food was okay but not hot, just barely warm. Pork steak is a must! The fat cap on it is broken down so perfectly and blends with the Smokey flavor. They let the meat stand on its smoke and don't drown it in sauce. The smoked chicken is one of my favorites. The cucumbers and onions I wish they had all the time. They make one of the best salads in town. She shouldn't tell me I owe an additional 7-8 dollars for BBQ sauce. Also ordered 60 bucks worth of catfish, and zero tartar sauce was included. Again, the food was good. But the service was not. We were seated quickly, the food is always excellent and the atmosphere is relaxed and casual.

I really enjoyed the brisket platter, which included a very generous portion of thick sliced, tender beef brisket. The platter included Texas toast and three sides - I had fries, coleslaw and fried okra, all of which were very good. I would have given the restaurant five stars except they don't seem to be taking the social distancing very seriously for the current pandemic. Masks were not required and therefore almost no customers had them coming in or leaving. No tables were removed - to the contrary, all tables were full while I was there and were arranged pretty close to each other. And although the staff had masks, very few were covering their mouth and nose at the same time. I'll be back because I enjoyed the food but not until the pandemic is finally behind us. read more

Don't let the outside or interior decor fool you. It's a totally open dining room with tables and chairs. It appeared that they may have a back room for large parties but I can't say fir sure. It was a bit loud inside but wow! All I can say is I'm so impressed by the food. They have a large selection of bbq items and fried foods. I had the Brisket sandwich (only served on Saturday's) on Texas toast with a side of Mac 'n Cheese. The smoked brisket was so flavorful that no sauce was needed or desired! It had very little, if any, visible fat but melted in my mouth. I just wanted to savor every bite. The Mac 'n Cheese is house made and extremely cheesy. My husband had the pork po'boy sandwich with a side of bbq beans. It was quite a large sandwich with melted cheese over the tender and juicy pork. He said it was flavorful and tender. His bbq beans had a chunk of pork in it and perfectly seasoned. When it was time to go, the server asked if we wanted to-go cups for our drinks and brought us new sodas in containers to go. After a morning of duck hunting my buddy suggested we head over to Fishin' Pig. My buddy had been there before with his son and raved about it during our 15 minute drive. I had the fried catfish ribs, with spicy slaw, fries and mac&cheese. Everything was . Mac & cheese was like my wife makes, that is saying a lot! Hush puppies are challenging but theirs were perfect. Big fan of the Fishin' Pig. The staff is very friendly and courteous, the food is always great. Southern fried catfish is usually my meal of choice, with fries and hush-puppies. The catfish is always light and crispy - they have some of the best restaurant fries in town. There aren't any frills or pretentious dishes here, but you won't walk away hungry. The decor is classic BBQ joint - corrugated metal and exposed wood, peppered with river-themed accessories. If you want to skip cooking at home and crave some home-style Missouri cooking, I definitely recommend the F'n Pig!! read more

Now I'm a SEMO boy to the bone and there are 2 things I take very seriously. 1: Fried Fish & 2: Sweet Tea. If your gonna try and serve catfish it better seasoned and breaded properly, tender and flaky, and not taste like the mud it was drug out of. My Sweet Tea should be brewed dark, served cold and have enough sugar to make a dentist wince. Being this particular I don't often order catfish because most just don't do it right. Today I decided to take a chance and see how theirs were. I've dined at The Fishin Pig several times but this is the first time having their catfish and I must say I was pleasently suprised. The breading was light and very well seasoned with beautiful white flaky meat inside. They make sure you don't leave hungry by serving up 3 sides with their meals. I chose the white beans which never fail, the green bean and a baked potatoe both of which were unremarkable but good along with some excellent hush puppies and the requisite pickle & onion. We also had an appetizer of their cajun Pork Rinds. Let me tell you these are amazing. They are freshly made and very crunchy with enough cajun seasoning to break you out in a sweat. This required me to abuse the free refills of their sweet tea, which definitely met all of my criteria. If you haven't been here yet then I recommend checking them out. Both the Fish and the Pig are worth trying along with their sweet tea. Their only open on the weekends but they're worth the wait. read more

We were passing thru looking for a good place to eat before we went camping last Saturday afternoon. Glad we got there when we did because as we were waiting for our food the place filled up fast. I was craving BBQ and boyfriend was craving catfish. We found the perfect spot. We each had a beer and shared the BBQ Nachos. The nachos were topped with plenty of pulled pork and cheese.
