Hookin' Ain't Easy... and neither is deciding what to order!…read more This hidden gem is proof that great seafood doesn't need fancy table service. You order at the food truck, grab a picnic table under the trees, and wait while everything is cooked fresh. The sign says, "Be patient. Be kind." Trust me, it's worth both. The smoked wahoo dip disappeared embarrassingly fast. Creamy, smoky, and packed with flavor. The blackened grouper sandwich was the star of the show. Perfectly seasoned, flaky, moist, and piled high on toasted bread with fresh toppings. The soft shell crab sandwich was crispy, sweet, and one of those meals that requires extra napkins and zero shame. Even the roasted broccoli was charred just right. Come for the seafood. Stay for the quirky atmosphere. Leave wondering why you've waited so long to eat here.

Full menu, full bar…read more Hookin' Aint Easy Seafood Company is a cool house converted into a fish market and patio with a food truck and a bar with chairs with backs. There's plenty of umbrellaed tables and picnic tables. They have a full menu of apps, seafood, and burgers. Their whole fried snapper is one of our favorite fish, and Hookin' serves a generous serving, perfectly tender and sweet, in a light crispy layer of coating, on a regular soft bun, with lettuce, tomato, and red onion. Their Fried Wahoo is also well-prepared. We got fried, and it was tender and fresh. Both fish came with a heaping serving of hot crispy fries. You could also get either fish blackened, and you could add various veggies as sides. We ordered our food and also picked it up ourselves at the bar. Hookin' can get crowded, especially when they have a live musician, and parking can get pretty tight. It's just off I-275 at 22nd St, in St. Pete Fl east of Gulfport. They keep their social media pretty up-to-date, but we didn't track down a "regular" webpage.

Cindy at the front desk was incredibly helpful and made sure we were fully prepped before heading out--her friendliness and attention to detail really set the tone for the day. Once on the water, the crew was just as amazing. Everyone was welcoming, patient, and super informative, which made the experience enjoyable whether you're a beginner or more experienced. The captain did an awesome job moving us to several different spots to make sure we were actually on fish--and it paid off! It truly felt like they went above and beyond to make the trip special. Such a fun and memorable way to celebrate a birthday. Highly recommend booking with them if you're in Clearwater!

It's something I'll never forget. Grouper, redfish, grunt, black Seabass, lizard, fish, puffer fish, toad fish, and so many more that I can't even name. I highly recommend and recommend that if you go fishing in Clearwater to please look up this business they are excellent. Everyone on our boat caught a fish actually 10 or more unless you were asleep. This is the number one for fishing in Clearwater. And I didn't get the chef's name, but he make a heck of a hamburger and sausage and egg sandwich that I ever had. I will always come back here. Check out my catch in the photos.

When you have a dog it can be hard to find a beach to take them to and spend time not worrying…read moreabout other dogs or keeping them on a tight leash or just enjoying yourself, but I think we found the perfect spot for any dog that loves the water! This area is actually across the parking lot from the boat ramp, but it has its own parking meter (with plenty of parking) and ramp to get onto the sand! You'll know you're in the right area when you see the boat that has been brought ashore by the hurricanes. The actual boat ramp has plenty of parking, fish cleaning stations, areas to fish, and a public restroom! I highly suggest checking this place out because it has plenty of space and greenery to separate any other animals that may also be there! It does say on the sign that dog have to stay leashed, but we were able to let our dog run free because no one else was there for the majority of the time. We did see 3 other dogs for brief moments while we played with a ball and seashells! If you do come I highly recommend an extra long lead for you dog so you don't have to keep them closer but so they can play freely! It is also a great place to get on a paddle board or kayak as you can just walk right up to the water and it's clear enough to put your board in and stand/sit on it! Overall I believe this is a hidden gem that I'd love to keep that way, but I'd love my fellow yelpers to also have a place to go!

If you need a great place to launch your boat into the Intercostal Waterway, the Belleair Causeway…read moreBoat Ramp Park is an ideal location. It's located at 3900 W. Bay Dr., just off Belleair Bluffs. This Pinellas County public park has 24 hour access with 108 boat trailer parking spaces, 98 car parking spaces, a fishing pier, five courtesy docks and 10 boat launches. There's also Belleair Bait & Tackle Co. for any sundries that you may need, a fishing pier, restrooms and a dog park/beach. The dog beach is along the south side of the park which is a hold over from before this park was last developed. FYI, your dog needs to be on a leash. Overall, this is a large public boat launch that's: 1) In an ideal location, 2) Clean and well kept, and 3) An awesome place just to hang out and fish or walk your pooch.

My boyfriend and I live in Lakewood Ranch and decided that we may want to go fishing at the pier…read morethis weekend. We decided to drive up just to check out a good spot and drive through. We went to the South fishing pier first. The gentleman in the booth was very kind and friendly and allow us to drive through just to see what the pier was like for tomorrow night. We decided to take a look at the Northside fishing pier, and when we got to the booth, we very kindly explained to the lady in the booth that we were looking to go fishing tomorrow night and asked kindly if we could just drive through. We had our Service dog with us, but did not have his vest on. She raised her voice at us and told us we were not allowed to go past her booth that she was demanding we turn around or even back up! I told her he was a Therapy dog and asked her kindly once again if we were allowed to just drive through that we were not getting out. Once again with her voice raised, she told us absolutely not, and that he should "have his vest on"! Wow... Not a very nice person to have representing one of our State Parks! Needless to say, we will be sticking with the Southside fishing pier tomorrow night. And there's our tax dollars hard at work for a very nasty and miserable old bitty!
