I hired Goin' Green for moving services. Everything seemed to go well until the end. I ended up being charged $800 for a move that should have taken 2 hours max, without any itemization. The distance was less than one mile, and all that was moved were four boxes (mostly clothes), a desk, and a chair. On top of that, some items never arrived at the destination including a Thompson Warriors jersey, a Levi's jacket, and a NorthFace jacket. I never received a response about my missing items and the service was overpriced. Not recommended. read more

Goin' Green moved me from a storage unit in Mountain View to a storage unit in Santa Cruz. I needed help from them with disposal of some property, donation of some property and then moving the remainder to Santa Cruz. The storage unit in Mountain View was a large one. The quality of the move was excellent. The staff at Goin' Green is courteous, professional and focused. The move went very quickly even though we had to open boxes and do sorting. I can't imagine anyone doing a better job. The transfer to the storage unit in Santa Cruz went very quickly. The men from Goin' Green organized the new space and there is space open for sorting. I had been at my current spot for 10 years so I was at the cusp of having to purge old stuff, replace old appliances and electronics with new stuff at my new place, get rid of things I no longer wanted, and do that all plus move in a tight time frame. I talked to Kevin on the phone and he walked me through what I needed to do and what services I could leverage from them. They showed up on time, they were able to haul all my trash and recyclable materials and move me to my new spot in about 6-7 hours. Bonus points for helping me pack up some unusual items that I did not have boxes for. I own a few 3D printers, some of which are bulky and you cannot really take them apart. One large printer in particular is calibrated and configured at the factory so you just can't really break them down. They were able to safely seal them up and move them. Along with my flat screen TVs which I also did not have boxes for. So, they helped me pack up some odd items that I did not have the ability myself to pack up. Overall very pleased with the service and would recommend them to anyone in the bay area moving, and I will use them again in the future. read more

DO NOT HIRE. When I needed to move apartments in March of 2017 in Los Altos, the manager recommended them. I called, Kevin answered, asked me a bunch of questions about what I'd need, how many people, boxes, etc. He took my credit card and we booked for Sunday at 10am. Come Sunday at 10am, no sign of the movers. By 11am I start calling. No answer. Voicemail full. No reply on text. Nothing. All day. I was totally stranded. Who does that?! Infuriating. read more

Don't know why Yelp says this company is closed...they are not, maybe just new location that has not been updated. In any case, I set up the move of a CalKing bed, large framed picture and heavy mirror from apt in Cupertino to Watsonville. It was very short notice (1day), but Kevin was most accommodating. Travis and Nick arrived on time, were polite and very efficient. Got the stuff down to the beach condo (in the pouring rain), set it up and removed the old bed. We were in a jam and needed to find a home for some nice furniture, get rid of scrap metal and some toxic household chemicals Bryan and Travis showed up right on time and immediately pitched in and got all our stuff moved and will take our furniture by the Salvation Army to see if it could be used before disposing of it otherwise. The team from Goin' Green arrived on time and efficiently cleared out the storage locker. They required that I pay with check or cash (that's fine), but gave me no receipt or invoice showing how they broke down their charges. No paperwork whatsoever. Could not even provide a business card. The guy said I'd receive a receipt by the end of the week via email, never came. I called two weeks later and talked to Kevin, the owner, who promised a receipt in a couple of days. Never came. Called back, but their voice mail was full; sent him an email, never got a response. If you want stuff cleared out, they can probably do it. If you want some kind of documentation (estimate, invoice, receipt), look elsewhere. read more

Goin Green Moving recently assisted in moving my mom, a senior from one apartment to another within the same apartment complex...they were amazing. They were aware of her time and financial constraints and made the move within both. (pricing was BEYOND competitive and reasonable!) The owner (Kevin) even showed up with the two guys he sent to make sure everything went smoothly And he helped with the move without charge!...what a terrific individual! As was the whole moving staff. Polite, careful and quick. They even took apart and put back together certain furniture as necessary, they knew how to do it and do it quick not eating up valuable time. Travis and Nick moved my mother's furniture and belongings from a condominium she'd lived in for 30 years to her new home in a senior residential facility. Their work was stellar, as described below, and their attitudes and behavior were equally wonderful, including how they responded to all of the people in the senior facility. To start at the beginning, their pricing was very competitive and based on hours of work plus travel time to the job. When they arrived at my mother's, they were extremely efficient wasting no time while wrapping all my mother's furniture and then carrying everything down one flight of stairs. Most of these items they staged behind their truck and then, once staged, rapidly but carefully, loaded their truck. They were very fast and very pleasant at the same time. At the senior facility, they reversed the process, carefully unloading Mom's belongings, transporting them by dolly and elevator to Mom's floor and placing the items in Mom's new apartment. I changed my mind a few times on where I wanted the furniture placed, and both Travis and Nick were happy to move things around within the apartment as requested. The entire process from start to finish was fast and pleasant, and all of my mother's belongings were treated carefully. Five stars all the way! read more

Goin' Green cleared out all of the belongings my mother left behind in her condominium after I moved her to an assisted living facility. Most of this was donated to charities, much of the remainder was recycled. Only a very small percentage went to landfill. Kevin and his Goin' Green staff took care of all of this.
