I (the bride) was working in the area when I stopped by Aventura Ocean Club by myself at first to check the venue out. I loved it so much I had to bring my now husband back as soon as we got back from a mini vacation and on that day, we secured the location. Just imagine an amazing view of the harbor and sailboats while feeling relaxed in a room that is modern, intimate and designed well. This venue is NOT old school like some weddings that we have all been to, its updated and amazing. Besides the view, another huge selling point is the largest wrap around balcony I have seen at a wedding. Aventura Ocean Club sets up couches, chairs, and a firepit outside for the guests to enjoy while they are not inside. We had our wedding on 8/10/2019 and we have nothing but great things to say about the venue. We got married at Heritage Park in Dana Point (Simone coordinated all of this) and had our reception at Aventura Ocean Club. I am still getting compliments to this day about the venue, the view, the decorations, the food, the grand entrance that we did (think sail boat entrance) and even the florals, DJ and photographer we used (all who came recommended from Simone). We could not have asked for a better wedding and we are truly pleased. It is obvious Simone cares about her clients and truly believes in marriage and happiness, she was wonderful to work with. A few helpful hints about this venue: 1. It is intimate but fit 100 people on the inside with no issue. 2. Your guests will rave about the sail boat grand entrance if you choose this option. 3. If you use their wedding package/coordinating services (which you should in a heartbeat) your event will look even better than you imagined but with your style through and through. 4. Simone/Aventura Ocean Club/Orange County Beach Weddings and all her recommended vendors will give you the wedding of your dreams. 5. This was in our price range where a lot of other beach/beachy/coastal venues were significantly more money and you had to do everything yourselves.

No one wants to read a negative wedding venue review, and overall, our wedding day was wonderful. I…read moreunderstand that we were a difficult couple, especially due to all the restrictions with COVID guidelines. But I was hoping for a little more than we got, especially from the staff. The venue itself is beautiful. I knew as soon as we walked in that my (then) fiancee would love the place and that we were done looking at venues. The high ceilings, chandeliers, brick and hardwood... the whole aesthetic was amazing. The catering staff (the catering company owns the venue, so if you want to get married at The Estate, you have to hire Jay's Catering) was really good, and they worked with us to individually package to-go meals for our guests since we couldn't in good conscience have all of our guests eating together. Now for the difficulties. As I said before, our wedding was during COVID-19, so we dealt with a number of restrictions. We were also a difficult couple to deal with because we had to keep changing plans as the government placed greater restrictions and/or eased restrictions. We needed to be talking to the venue and catering coordinators quite a bit, as we increased and decreased guest counts and talked through all the different precautions that needed to be made. Toward the beginning of our working with them, both coordinators (Jeanne and Sierra) were very communicative and prompt, but as time wore on (and our wedding day grew closer) we were having more and more difficulty getting a hold of them. There was a point fairly early on where we realized that if I (the groom) called or emailed, I would get a terse, sometimes unhelpful response in a day or three. However, if my fiancee (the bride) called or emailed, she would get a prompt response that answered all of her questions thoroughly. As a groom who wanted to be involved in our wedding process, it was particularly irritating to be sidelined like this. The sound system wasn't what I was expecting. I help out from time to time with audio at church, so I'm used to working with venue sound systems. The Estate's sound system was set up more like a home theater. There were a few inputs, but everything was running through a central receiver rather than through a sound board. Normally this wouldn't have been a problem, but since it was COVID season, we were livestreaming the ceremony. Their system was incapable of handling that complication, so we ended up paying the livestream company an additional fee to bring in their own sound equipment so that we could have sound for both the in person attendees as well as the livestream viewers. There's a small parking lot in the back that is shared by some nearby vendors, and we were told that we'd have the whole lot (about 35 spaces) for our guests to use. When we arrived on the morning of our wedding, we were told that we were able to use about 8 spaces because the venue coordinator hadn't reserved the parking lot. We were also supposed to have a curtain that divided the main room so that the bride wouldn't be seen too early. That curtain was nowhere to be seen. After a lot of running around and numerous phone calls, our wedding coordinator discovered that the curtain had been used at a different venue the previous day (the catering company owns multiple venues) and wasn't returned. Our coordinator was able to find a spare curtain that was much smaller, but got the job done, but the whole situation left us feeling rather disappointed. So all in all, we were happy with the way things ended up looking, but there were several little things that added up to a large amount of unnecessary frustration.

There are two large restrooms on the first floor, so that's a little bit of a drawback that you need to walk up and down the stairs to use those facilities. It's located in a business park and offers plenty of after hour parking. All in all, a nice venue for your event and we look forward to visiting again for a future Chef Sealy wine pairing dinner.

Honestly I wasn't even sure if that was a thing, but Wedgewood came up and they had a lot of great reviews from the knot and the photos looked gorgeous! We chose 3 spots to check out, but after checking out dove canyon (our second location), I was obsessed. We HAD to have it here! You can't beat the floor to ceiling windows and the GORGEOUS views!! The packages that they offered were so great and the fact that you can remove or add things to packages was a game changer, you can really make it your own based off your budget and your needs. I loved that you get a planning binder and a portal login to help you stay on track and organized for your wedding because let's be honest, we're usually already tired from spending all of our mental energy on work, household chores, errands, hanging out with friends, etc etc. so having this laid out for you was very helpful. You have about three or four check ins to help you get ready for the big day and it truly made all the difference. I had my meetings with AK and she asked questions that I hadn't even thought about! There are so many things that go into a wedding, all the little details we overlook, so it really helped to have someone who has experience to help walk us through everything and give advice. There are so many things that are included in the all inclusive package, it took so much stress off of us! Friends and family would always ask how wedding planning was going and I think 3 or 4 months in, we said everything was basically done, we just needed to meet with our dj. Some things I really loved about the staff here is that they helped set up any decor that you drop off on rehearsal day. Shout out to our coordinator that day, Sienna! We didn't have a flower girl, so she scattered our fresh petals along the aisle before the ceremony. She was super attentive and had such great energy the entire day. Definitely something that you'd want on your wedding day! Thank you Sienna! It was such a joy having you there for our big day! The florist was also great from ocflowers, we met with them once and they nailed the centerpieces. It was exactly what we wanted and it lasted a whole week already! Some are slightly wilted, but the roses and greenery are still looking freeeeshhhhh! The cake was also SO delicious from all about the cake. I don't actually like wedding cakes, but I was blown away with the flavors for ours! Our first layer was an amaretto chocolate ganache and raspberry filling and the second layer with tiramisu. I believe we also get a free mini wedding anniversary cake for our one year as well. So excited for that! Our guests were so impressed with the appetizers for cocktail hour. The crab cakes were the clear winner, but everything else was just as tasty. The best part about all of this was when my husband and I got into our bridal suite, after post ceremony photos, they had a plate of appetizers for us on the table because they knew we would miss cocktail hour and wanted us to be able to enjoy some of the things we picked out and our signature drinks . The reception was just as amazing. Everyone raved about the 8 assorted salads and the prime rib upgrade is a MUST!!! Sienna is the best, she made sure we sat down to eat and was so patient with us! My husband and I were overstimulated so we didn't actually stomach too much of the food, but when we got home that night, we realized that our banquet captain, Seth, had packed us both to-go boxes of the dinner we missed, along with our cake slices and some desserts. Literally that was the best gift! Thank you so much Seth! It's not often that people hear "the wedding was perfect" but this truly was one of those days where I couldn't have imagined it going any better.
