Garrett and this towing company was our savior when our Tesla got a flat tire (no thanks to a chain remnant) heading up to Tahoe on the day after Christmas. Naturally we called Tesla Roadside Assistance. As it started to snow harder just outside of Blue Canyon on Highway-80, Tesla Roadside Assistance customer service took 50 minutes to finally let us know that they could not find a tow truck company willing to tow us off the highway in a storm brewing. We decided to call around on our own and within 5 minutes, Mark found Gold Country Tow out of Grass Valley that was willing to not only pick up our Tesla but could hold all five passengers! Garrett arrived as quickly as possible, calling & texting us with updates on his ETA. He was a nice dude, clean-cut with a cool man bun, and very likable. I had the unfortunate event of hitting a rock on I-80 on my way home from a long day of work, resulting in a flat tire. Fortunately for me, my car doesn't have a spare so I had to get towed home. In all honesty I would do negative 5 stars for how they teated my friend and making her cry over the phone. I was in my way back from camping in Utah, on my 14th hour of driving, when my 27 Foot travel trailer had a major issue. When I pulled over? The entire rim was destroyed. Suddenly the car shows that the left tire is losing pressure. OHH NOOO... :-(   We immediately turned the car direct to Marysville/Yuba City. There we, fortunately, found SIERRA Tire and Trailer open on Sunday. The flat tire's replacement required the night in the town, and we cannot do it. So thanks to Garrett, we called GOLD COUNTRY TOW open 24h. BEST CHOICE EVER!  It ended up they have a more fair rate than others, and they were also able to accommodate my request to bring back the car to San Francisco later in the night. Great people, The water pump on our truck blew on our way home from camping with our fifth wheel. We needed a tow for our truck and trailer. The gentleman that my wife talked to was very understanding, worked with us as we attempted to get the insurance to cover the cost . In the end they sent out their tow that handled the towing of the truck and fifth wheel at the same time. Took the trailer home, and drop off the truck at the dealer. The fella I spoke to (repeatedly) about my car needing towing was VERY helpful, and even explained that I was entitled to free towing under warranty - not through GC Tow, but because my Toyota is still under warranty. He suggested calling the 800 number for that, and sure enough, I saved tons of money! I cannot heap enough praise for the people at Gold Country Tow. I was stranded in the Lake Tahoe area with few options after my hybrid car won't start early evening. I was visiting and had to get home that night, so the situation was pretty dire. My insurance tapped the company to tow my car, and immediately upon being notified, the company called to provide an estimated time of arrival that was much sooner than the insurance company estimated and to tell me what tow truck to look for. And soon, the tow truck arrived, well within the estimated time. The driver, Steele, was courteous, professional, and took initiative to help troubleshoot what was wrong with the car. He could have just came and towed the car and I would already have been grateful, but he spent time going through possible issues and seeing if he could resolve the actual problem. Sure enough, he was able to figure out what was wrong with the car and got it to start again. His knowledge and kind act turned a frustrating and stressful situation into a miracle that saved me significant time and cost. I echo the other reviewers - these guys truly are the best. read more
