Went to use my 1.5 hour card that my husband purchased from there .. I spoke with the lady at the door, she said yes .as I was having my massage sitting up the whole time... ( never had a massage sitting up, could not relax) The male was extremely rough.At about 40 mins into the massage, I could tell that he was wrapping up ... so I tried to tell him that my massage should be 1.5 hours.. he does not speak english .. He went to get the owner... She was EXTREMELY RUDE . yelling Ni we don't have time .. meanwhile place is empty ... I said ok no problem.. I should've had a half hour left over portion of my card... she manually wrote $23 remaining . She charged extra time while I was still putting back on my toe rings and anklets. Did not appreciate the rude tone, slight aggressive behavior and the fact that I did not receive a complete massage but deducted money from my card that I did not use! read more

One of the best massages I've ever gotten! The service was incredibly courteous and professional. I don't really understand the reviews where the owner was "angry". She was very gracious and kind to us when we came in. We got the 1 hour body massage and 1/2 hour foot massage package and we felt really relaxed for the entire day afterwards. I'm more writing the review about the manager ~ the woman who greets you at the door and collects payments .I've been there about six times and while the massages were ok, the manager's general attitude stinks. She's extremely rude and very very arrogant , so this ruins my overall experience remembering back at all my massages i had there . I will not go again . last time I was there was fall 2023. She asked which massage I wanted as I viewed over the menu. Since I was on my way to worked I requested the massage for $30 (30 minute Swedish massage ). She began to laugh and said they didn't do that one ~ meaning anything else an hour or more . For some odd reason a male employee laughed along with her ~ probably simply because she was obviously his supervisor ~(& evidently is not an easy person to get along with. This particular time In my life was quite challenging as I'd just lost my mother . a word for the jerk who runs this place ~ think about behaving in a more civil, kind and professional manner towards people who go there. The guy was super nice and I could tell he was new so I didn't make a big deal. When I was going up to pay the owner was super nice she told me the price and I handed her a hundred. Nice environment, clean, comfortable, and relaxing. My husband and I each received the 30 minute VIP foot massage. We both enjoyed our massages. While the hot stones were warm and delightful it was a bit painful when they were rapidly run over the bones on the top of our feet and at out ankles. I went in for a body massage.. the gentleman that did my massage I found out later did not speak a word of English. So no wonder whatever I said he kept doing the same thing. I asked for a deep tissue massage instead I got a swedish massage, which I didn't want or like. I did read the reviews but decided that culturally Asians tend to be loud and misunderstood well I asked for a couples massage never were we asked questions because she wanted no talking does that make sense NO . So there was NOT a thorough assessment to address our issues. Consequently the Full one hour session: the time allocated is dedicated to your massage, and not consultation, preparation or dressing time. We each had a different massage experience I peeked to see how my guy was I noticed the young lady on top of him . My male masseuse had his feet planted on the floor the entire time . We spoke at dinner after the foot massage since the No talking rule only applied to us not the owner whispering in mandarin . Well my boyfriend had allergic reaction issues due to his face being massaged his head and ears she applied oil to those areas and his eyes were burning for hours once we left . We noticed while paying there was almond oil cream in the display which was a bit different and had a quick thought what if someone is allergic to nuts having no idea it would be him ..., Communication is key to any business clearly being considered rude isn't a good look but now that I know that our masseuses did different things even the foot massage was different my guy said he felt manhandled by his male masseuse . I had to tell my make masseuse he was hurting me when he addressed my back but he did listen immediately . We tipped and paid but again upon leaving we were ssshed . Although the reason specifically for the 2 stars is that the "manager" at the front desk demanded I tip her more than what I initially left which was 20%... Been there 4 times for foot/leg massage. Once the massage was just ok, but other 3 times was great!! Unfortunately there is this one woman there, I think she is somewhat in charge and is very rude. Not sure if she give massages. First time I was there, having only been to spas in AC twice, I wanted to see what was offered. She kept yelling at me that she was very busy. Very impatient and rude. It wasn't THAT busy. Next time I saw her was yesterday and again very impatient IMO. I was trying to ask if I can request the nice girl that just gave me massage and it wasn't busy at all. Also she wouldn't let me get my card stamped. Suddenly it's only stamped when you get an hour foot massage. Says nothing about that on my card that already has stamp on it. Otherwise, good massages. The same rude lady was there and she is very unpleasant to deal with. Is she the bosses wife? Why do they let her stay and what is her problem? I only had one hour massage. This place was really good it, a hole in the wall place located next to the Alexis diner. The price I paid for an hour full body massage was $50.00 dollar and it was well worth it. They brought me into a room, which was a tad small but no way a deal breaker. The environment was really nice and very peaceful. The past reviews were right about the manager, but you can clearly tell she's working on the attitude issues is being worked on. I've been to Gold Leaf several times in the past 2 years. I have to say I bite my tongue each time with the manager at the front desk, she is extremely rude and sometimes you want to ask and remind her who she thinks she's talking to that way. They used to have a card that they stamped each time you went and when the card was full you would receive a discount on your next massage. My card was full and then Covid hit and the spa closed. Upon reopening I got my massage and handed in my card and she tells me the card is expired and cannot be used. I explain to her that that had nothing to do with me, the spa was closed because of Covid and that she should honor the card. She told me point blank it was expired and she was not accepting the card. In my.opinion, this was bad business. Last week was my sister and mother's birthdays and they wanted to get massages and made an appointment at goldleaf. My sister requested three female workers to massage us as we don't like the men. Upon entering the very rude manager states she only has two women and one man, so I take the man. Worst massage ever. He was working on my back with the sheet covering me for so long when I asked him if he was going to use oil. Then he used the oil and was only massaging my lower back no other part of my body and before I knew it he was done. The massage you pay for is for head to toe, no other area was touched except my back and mostly my lower back and he hurt me as well with the pressure he was using although I told him several times he was pressing too hard. I tell the front desk manager or whoever she is, how dissatisfied I am and explain to her I did not get the complete massage and that I will not be coming back. I was charged the full price and made sure I only left a minimum tip she looked at me like I needed to give him more and I refused. I told her point-blank that is all he deserves he's lucky he's getting that and walked out. Her attitude is through the roof I don't know how anybody goes there and deals with that. This was without question the best massage I've had for several years - including massages from professional sports massage therapists. Go for the great foot massage which starts while your feet are still in the water, stay for the back massage which takes every possible knot out of your back! I chose the combination foot and back massage (90 minutes, a steal at $60) and Jeff was my masseuse. Amazing!!!!!! If you don't like firm pressure (I do) be sure to tell him. I used to come here all the time when I lived near by and it was awesome and affordable. I had a back and foot massage today and it was terrible. The masseuse was unskilled and didn't seem to know any effective techniques. He just dug his elbow into my back the whole time even after I asked him several times to stop because it was painful. Very different experience than I'm used to but effective. I expected to have a room with walls for privacy and noise reduction. There are curtains instead. The Masseuse didn't introduce himself or ask if I had any concerns. There was also a young child of one of the employees there. Although, he remained quiet it was surprising. My massage was from head to toe and very firm, hot stones and hot towel included at no extra cost. Small plastic cup of water at the end, nothing fancy. If you're looking for a really good inexpensive massage without upselling pressures this is the place. read more
