Very messy place. The bathroom was disgusting. The lady who gave me massage was too light handed and careless. She pulled my hair several times as she worked on my shoulder. Worst of all, when I tipped, the receptionist said it cant be less than 20 percent!!! He even had the audacity to call the masseuse over and they both asked me to pay over 20 percent tip . . For over a week I had horrible shoulder pain where I could not move my neck (as a med student I tend to be at my desk all day looking down at a notebook or at a computer) that was aggravated by a sports injury. The woman at the front desk was very accommodating and easy. I then chose my time (I've done 30 and 45 minute massages) and was ushered to a private room. The most I've waited was 5 minutes without an appointment. The massage was absolutely amazing using techniques I learn about at school! If you get a massage of thirty minutes or longer, you get a free hot stone treatment which is very relaxing. They also have a reward system for a free massage after ten. If I could leave zero starts I would. I went for a half hour massage looking to relax and unwind after a stressful day and I got the complete opposite. I have never felt so uncomfortable and violated in my life. The male who was giving me my "massage" crossed the line way to many times. He was knuckles deep in my ear and way to touchy feely with butt. He focused the entire half hour on my butt and at one point had his hands under my underwear and at the end in my buttcrack. Unfortunately I did not have a good first experience here. I received a $120 Services Groupon gift certificate. I booked a 60 minute massage for $60 and was planning to use the balance for another 60 minute massage at another time. The woman who helped me at the counter scanned the bar code and brought me into one of the curtained areas, asked if I wanted hot stone, to which I said sure, and instructed me to disrobe and get on the table. Once I'm settled she comes in with her phone saying her boss wanted to talk to me. Her boss told me that I had to use the entire gift certificate now and that I couldn't break it up. I thought that was odd so I asked the lady to get my purse, because I'm naked laying on the table, and I'm reading the terms and no where does it say that it all must be used at one time. The owner keeps trying to talk me into a two hour massage and is arguing with me about the terms of the Groupon. I was getting very upset and frustrated and feeling very vulnerable as you can imagine. I was ready to get dressed and leave when the owner finally said it was ok. So the massage started, but at this point it was hard to relax and enjoy it. Plus it is located in the busiest part of the mall and was very noisy. Zero privacy and it smelled like rotten eggs. The massage was just ok. The staff was loud and their cell phones kept ringing. About half way through my massage the owner shows up and my therapist leaves me to go talk to her. They had a conversation that I couldn't understand and then she came back and finished up. When I was leaving, the owner informed me that the hot stones were an extra $10 and I needed to pay for it. I didn't argue, paid and left. I will not be returning to redeem the rest of my gift certificate. Even though it is free, it isn't worth it in my opinion. Don't waste your time or your money here. On a whim, I started googling to find a place to get a massage and relieve the headache I had all day. I never though I would find a place at 630pm that I could walk right into and get a massage. What a find with Crystal Run Spa!!! The space is pleasant and the staff friendly. This is the place to go to if you are looking for a professional, effective massage at a reasonable price. I was willing to take anything I could get to relieve my tension headache, and what I got was so much more than I expected. Tony was amazing , and it was obvious to me he had great skill and knowledge. My headache was gone in 10 minutes and I felt as if every knot in my back was ironed out with "no stone unturned". I got the Groupon for this. We entered and the man at the counter handed us a phone. On the phone was a woman speaking English. She did offer to upgrade to hot stones, which we declined. We were then escorted to the back for the couples massage. My massage therapist was ok. The draping was done with beach towels, not sheets. The noise from the mall is very distracting, so I wish the spa music was able to be made louder to muffle the noise. The massage was very subpar for both of us. The lady was sniffling throughout the whole time. Both of us experienced massaging directly over the bones and not over muscles, especially around the shoulders. I have had several massages over the years and this might be one of the worst/painful ones I've ever received. The worst part was, at the end we went to tip them (even though it wasn't good). They both just stood there counting the money and looking at us, asking for more. It was so awkward. I didn't know how to react because it was a 15% tip but the quality was so poor. BE AWARE Just want to start with that I've never left a bad review of any businesses before but my blood is boiling the way that this situation was handled. Long story short this place charged my credit card twice for an hour massage. When I talked to them the manager was not willing to cancel the 2nd charge even though it clearly had a different signature. The manager was extremely rude, and he wasn't even willing to sort it out and basically called me a liar. I've never been treated this way by any business. Save your money and all the aggravation and go to a reputable spa, that run by HONEST professionals with a respectful customer experience And before you answer like you did on other sites where I left my review, I want to make it clear that I DID NOT come in with other people and I know I am talking about this place, the name of your spa is clearly marked in my credit card statement.
