I can't believe I have been coming to Gold Optometry for over a decade. Although I have moved out of the area, I still choose to come here for my eye exams. Dr. Kim is so pleasant and very knowledgeable. The front office staff are always helpful and courteous. The office is located in the same plaza as H Mart and Paris Baguette. They carry a wide selection of brand-name eyewear, so you will find the right frames to fit your budget. The staff is great at helping you select the right pair of glasses to suit your face and style. The sunglass collection is also extensive. They accept VSP insurance, but they offer fair pricing if you are a cash patient. My insurance plan has a generous allowance for frames, so I usually have to pay a small amount for out of pocket costs. Your eye health is a top priority, so you should choose an office that truly cares for their patients. I have referred several family members here, and they are all happy with the outcome. First time patient here, I recently got a new insurance and seen this location was in network so I made an appointment over the phone, I didn't have my physical insurance card but they were able to pull up my information with some info I provided. The Dr was extremely thorough and explained everything to detail that was going on with my eyes. She was kind, sweet, helpful and immediately knew I needed bifocals which is something I've never been told I needed but made sense with the testing results. The staff was very hospitable and knowledgeable which made it easier for me. I didn't feel rushed picking glasses out nor seemed pressured to purchase expensive glasses as other places can be. They have a HUGE selection of glasses, it was so hard to pick! But I eventually chose the one that best suited me. My insurance paid for half and I will pay the remaining balance when I pick them up in a week or so. Highly recommend this place! read more

I've been coming to Dr. Kim for the past 10+ years, and I will continue to do so! Dr. Kim is extremely thorough, knowledgeable, and amazing at what she does. I've visited the LA location before (also amazing), but I started coming to the Garden Grove location as it is a bit closer to my house. Everyone follows COVID rules - all staff were wearing masks and seats were six feet apart as well. Everything felt very clean and sanitary. Mr. Jay was the one that helped me and my brother pick out our new frames. He made sure each frame was sanitized before and after we tried them all on. He also recommended different frames for our different face shapes, so that was super helpful. The staff is always friendly and greets me as soon as I come in.
