I was able to run in and run out within a few minutes. There was a little line with only maybe two or three people in front of me. I will attempt to support my 1 star rating without going into too much regarding my situation. I am, just like many others, suffering through the after effects from this pandemic along with my Mothers unfortunate death. Both have caused tremendous stress not to mention financial obstacles that I am pushing through. I have been in communication with my (former) financial institution all along and out of the blue they decided to drop me as a customer! I must've missed the letter they sent but we are not in the stone ages. Customer service entails phone calls, emails and mailed correspondence. They wanted to give me the line of "AFTER 45 days" we drop you. Friday when I was on the phone with a "customer service lead" it WAS the 45th day but they wouldn't budge so my direct deposit I've been waiting for since 11/30 was posting next week along with my tax return! Another month of late fees, stress, etc.! Some customer service from a credit union who wants to kick you when you are down. After I spoke with the first CSR, I decided to go another level up with prayers that it might help but the representative began our conversation with a tone and it appeared that I was a bother to her Friday afternoon. "Nope there is nothing that we can do!" I will relay my story by every method available to warn others. Incidentally, they have never done anything for me. I have had good credit Mind you, I have been banking here for 25 +/~ years along with my three adult children. Two have since moved to EECU and I'm following behind. I have been a satisfied customer of Golden 1 for over 20 years. I appreciate all the services they offer. I was recently at this branch twice in the last 2 days. The atm machine had an error and would not accept my card. (Luckily the other one worked).... Today I went in at lunch time and they had 3 tellers working and about 10+ people in line. I have been a member, not just some no name meaningless customer, almost since the day I was born. Since it's a small town, they remembered us which is a miracle since we hardly ever do business inside the bank due to the wonderful invention of ATM's. My Mom became a member through her work and opened accounts for us as soon we began counting pennies and learning the value of a hard earned dollar. And since those early days, all my hard earned dollars have been safely and happily kept here. Today, we were at this particular location as a distraction for my Mom while we planned her surprise 50th birthday party back at home. I pretended like I needed help rolling over my 401k from my previous job with Bank of America and we signed in and waited for about 10 minutes until an account manager looked over my paperwork and explained the different types of IRAs I could put my money into. They were extremely helpful with all the paperwork and we got everything squared away and got all our questions answered. This is a scam organization, this is a warning to all active military and Veterans and also people that travel or move a lot. Do not get a loan such as a home, vehicle or personal. If you have to move out of there state you are not allowed to refinance or even change your loan. They will let you go in debt before helping you even if you been paying them for years they will not help you if you move out of California. But they will keep taking your money. They do not mention this in there contacts and they will be receiving a law suite. Just by talking on the phone you can tell how shady this bank is and very unsatisfactory technology and they won't return your calls or send you proof of this regulation. Overall Im happy to be Banking with Golden One but this branch is bad news. Once I went in to get information about a credit card and the gal that helped me said she didn't know so she would have someone call me with information (fine) when someone called me back they told me they had already ran my credit which is not what I wanted them to do. They forgot to dot the "I" and cross the "T". Got pre-approved for a loan so I called the local branch to see what paperwork I needed. I make an appointment and show up with vehicle and seller. Golden one handled all the paperwork they said as we signed docs. We walked out a success!!! So we thought... A month later I get a letter in the mail stating paperwork missing so I call and they reassure me everything is signed. Paperwork done in June, letter sent in July. August rolls around and I get another doc saying DMV needs more paperwork so I call and they say sometimes it takes 30 days before DMV reviews paperwork. Ok I said fine. I get a call from Jeremy local branch willow and nees saying we need sellers signature for DMV documents and paperwork isn't in your name yet. IT'S NOVEMBER!!! I'm selling the vehicle on Autotrader I told him and he said YOU CANT SELL A VEHICLE YOU DONT OWN. Totally unprofessional. They asked me to grab the sellers signature myself, go to his work, go to his house, isn't that golden ones responsibility since they had us come in and sign docs??? Of course contract shows no liability on them. So here I go tracking this guy down at work and at home. I miss the good old days where companies took care of you. 5 months into the loan and I don't own the vehicle, DMV shows it's not in my name, it won't be in my name until we get the correct signatures. Waited 1.5 hours just to open an account Updated Review: Credit union is good, I like that they're open on weekends and they're very friendly. One thing I don't like is that the other day my buddy went in and brought in documentation that was needed to clear a check that was pending for 2 weeks! They were saying there was nothing they could do, even though they told him that document was what's needed to verify the check. Instead of de-escalating the situation the branch supervisor at the Sierra Vista location in Clovis CA started to argue instead of actually trying to resolve the situation. Seems like it was a "power" thing for her? Regardless, the check got cleared with required documentation (could've just done that from the beginning..) and we were on our way. The branch should re train their supervisors on deescalating situations rather than continuing to argue with members, after all that's what a supervisor is supposed to do. Supervise the satisfaction of members while maintaining workplace proficiency. read more

My one and only bank. Whenever I have a problem, like losing my debit card or fraud it automatically gets solved. The best of all is that they don't charge for getting a new card and will give you a new one on the same day and it only takes an hour or two to activate. read more

Horrible experience. On October 1, 2020, my husband and I met with David, loan officer at Golden 1 Credit Union in Clovis Ca. What was supposed to be a good experience turned into nightmare. First off David spoke over me most of the appointment. Very unapproachable and hardly let me talk. He continued to embarrasse me because of my so many school loans that I am current on. There was no privacy during the appointment. He asked us very personal questions where others customers could clearly hear, such as our social security numbers. Etc. and shame on us for not asking him for a piece of paper to write them on. My husband and I should of known better. Also he ran our credit and said that our equifax was blocked or frozen and that he couldn't get our credit score and that we needed to call and see why. I tried explaining to him that through credit karma my equifax was not blocked. Again, he did not let me talk and started belittling me saying that they don't use credit karma because of so many reasons, such as for all he knows credit karma can be owned by the mafia. All I was trying to tell him is I can see my equifax through them but of course couldn't even get a word in. So I reached out to equifax and they told me that our equifax was not in fact blocked like David stated it was. My husband and I were ultimately denied a home loan. Not too sure why. I only have 2 medical bills my husband 1. All of our other debt we had has been paid off. We also had a $20,000 down payment. We both have high paying jobs and have been working on our credit for years. When my husband asked him advice as to how we can be approved for a home loan he stated, "make more money."
