Always love golden 1 and the one in Lincoln is always great! We have many accounts with golden 1.

I finally closed my accounts at Golden 1. I have had this account for close to 30 years. I have NEVER been able to get a car loan, personal loan and I just gave up trying. I was always successful elsewhere in securing ing those loans. I mostly used this account to store money. Eventually, i encouraged all my kids to open accounts here. My son and I went in to get a car loan. His first one. The hey approved a used car loan. Told us the year and amount we could look for. They DID NOT mention they only FUND 80% of the blue book value. I have bought many used cars and that was a first for me. That info would have been very helpful in the used car market. The Lincoln Branch has never been good with information. I closed my accounts and had all 3 of my kids move to Sierra Central. I am sure a lot of people like Golden 1 but sadly after 30 years, i left. read more

After multiple terrible experiences a decade ago, finally gave it another chance for a car loan. After wasting hours since US Currency isnt a welcome deposit coming from a non-member into a member's account, they changed the rate considerably when sending over the final documents. It's not worth it; Just bank with a real bank. read more

Horrible! My husband and I have over an 800 credit score each and wanted to get an equity loan to upgrade our kitchen and the person that took our call was Suzanne B. She was condescending, kept cutting us off to give her 30 years of work history (Linkedin shows she hops jobs quite a bit) and she would never answer our questions but went of a script like model. We asked for someone else and it's G1 policy to not be able to do that. We are so glad she showed us what a mess we'd be dealing with if we stayed trying to work with her or Golden 1. Banking is an important part of life. You want your experience to be a little Personal yet very professional. This is a Credit Union, owned by its members, aka ME. So I look at this experience as the employees are mine as much as yours. Golden1 as an institution is about a 4 star experience overall. Online banking adequate and fees pretty good. However this particular branch falls short in more ways than I want to articulate. The lines are always out the door, with on average of two tellers at any given time. Minus 1 star. When you enter, there are more employees sitting at desks trying to open new accounts, sell Loans etc than tellers to assist their members. However when you do finally get to the tellers they are typically nice - let's go neutral on this. When a line formed out the door one day and there was 1 teller working and 4 sitting at desks, often talking to co-workers I asked the manager why they could not assist the people in the line. Though no members were sitting at the desks, the manager said they were waiting for appointments. Most transactions I make here are of the 2 minute variety, similar I suppose for most members. My thought is one of these employees could take a member to assist until their appt shows. Instead they watched a line of 12 of their employers wait in line extending outside in the winter weather. Minus 1 star for lack of courtesy and poor manager reaction. The employees almost always follow the lead of their supervisors mentality so I don't see this improving anytime soon. read more

Absolutely useless. This office is just a waste of time. There are many other places. Sat for an hour didn't get anything accomplished. I want to set up an account so that I can transfer money to my mother who is older. They told me I could not transfer money from an external account to my mother's account and I would need to open an account in my own name. With my account, I could transfer money from my internal account to her internal account. So I opened up an account and I still have not been able to transfer money over. I have called and spoke to tech-support to transfer me around. And the really annoying part is I could have just gone to my bank and asked for a wire transfer into her account. Everyone here is so amazing and helpful! Honestly, I hate coming into Golden One because the last few times I had gone inside to cash a check, it took almost half an hour! TMI but here'sWhy- The issue was-past jobs/settlements had sent me a check with my old last name... an old last name that I opened the account with. The location on Fairway & Pleasant Grove had cashed one there for me a long time ago. One particular time, a woman behind the window held it, inspected it, after telling her I've done it before and that my previous last name was on the account, plus, I even had a marriage license for proof, she held my check to not only get approved by a branch manager, I had to sit & wait, and cash it like that. They held onto my check the whole time. Soooo, yes....TMI. This is just why I avoid going inside. As a last resort, after holding this check for 2 months... yes, I had called the company and they wanted me to mail personal information, which I hate doing... I came into this Golden One Branch in Lincoln. I explained the situation and she said, "Yes, if you have proof, either photo i.d. or your marriage license(which I did), and if you opened the account with that last name (yes), you can cash it here." She went on to tell me the other branch even put on my account "not to cash checks with other last names"... what jerks....they treated me like a criminal because I got married? I got a new last name? Because I have a Maiden name, I am suspicious??? I won't ever step foot in the Pleasant Grove location. Golden One in Lincoln is AMAZING. Thank you for your help! read more

I walked into the Lincoln branch and sat down yesterday (a warm day) to look at my phone and count the number of branches and see the locations while my wife was shopping at the CVS next door. My wife and I are in the process of moving to Lincoln from the Santa Cruz Mountains and are looking for our new credit union. I wanted to see where their branches are and if we felt they were convenient locations. I was approached by a very polite and helpful young lady, I am not sure what her title was maybe the manager or asst. manager ? I am sure she told me and I just forgot. I assume they are a bit on their toes after the attic break in issue they had the other day. She was very helpful and answered all my questions. My wife and I did a bit a research on line last night and decided that we will make Golden 1 our new Credit Union. read more

The worst bank I have ever had to deal with. I'm 80 years old so you can only imagine how many banks I have used over many generations. THIS IS THE WORST! Bad management, bad teller training, bad teller attitude, Rude, Ill tempered, Poor service, Incompetent Customer service. Long lines, Constant new faces because employees have high turn over and are obviously miserable, hating working there. I had one employee tell me that she doesn't even bank with Golden 1 because she knows what goes on behind the scenes. My account is constantly being frozen because of supposed compromise. I don't believe it. I think it's the banks negligence. That literally never happened with the other banks I have used over the years. Be four warned you will not be happy and you WILL be mistreated it if you bank with Golden 1. read more

Golden One respects you and remembers you regardless of who the Bank Employee may be. So happy we found each other outside of the haystack of corporate greed disquised as bankers who could care less about the customer with less than millions on deposit. Went to cash a check for my 88 year old mother so I could buy her grocer and was charged $10. During this time of crisis, they don't seem to go the extra mile for the community or elders in the area. What a shame. read more

I have been a member of golden one for a very long time one thing nice when we moved to Lincoln in January is that we noticed that there was a golden one which was definitely nice since we were members of them this location is very fast Michelle knows me and my mom on a first name basis it's always nice to receive five star service when you come into the bank we never have to wait very long in line because they usually get the lines going quickly so people don't have to wait so long This is definitely the best bank I've ever had they are always really great whenever you have any kind of questions about your account and are always offering suggestions on what you might want to do with your account one thing nice when you sign up with golden one it's a free checking and savings all you have to have it as one dollar to keep it open I highly recommend them to anybody looking for a new bank or for anyone who has never had a bank You definitely receive five star service with any Golden one credit Union I will definitely be coming back here again very soon read more

Been with G1 since its inception. Over the past couple of years they have lost the human touch. A couple of months ago I was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer. That diagnoses led me to teach my wife to pay our bills online. She missed a 12 dollar payment for my G1 Visa. G1 called, hounded, demanded immediate payment. I told them what happened my diagnoses and their response..., would you like me to process the 12 dillar payment? Will never trust G1 to gain that respect I use to have for them back. read more

I came in to make a cash deposit and the female (manager I assume) told me that I brought too much money... like isn't this a bank? I get it that money counters can be temperamental but it's literally your job. I was questioned about my profession and felt completely judged and offended. Worst coop bank I ever used. I tried to make a deposit of $400 cash and the atm said they could not return one or all of my cash depositEd and bring the receipt inside. I did that and the lady said I needed to call my bank. More than a week has passed and Golden 1 is not returning my $400 cash. Would not recommend them at all. No desire to rectify or even research the problem but are quick to keep my cash. read more

I used to bank here and the service went down hill. I tried to give them another chance and open my son an account. We walked in, were not acknowledged and sat down to wait for a banker. None of the bakers were with customers. They walked past us and did not greet us. We waited for 5 minutes and left after no one helping us. We went to Chase instead and were helped within 30 seconds of walking in. Will never give them another chance. read more

Every time I go into the Golden1 location in Lincoln he takes the time to ask me how my day is going and even knows me and fellow customers on a first name basis. His outstanding people skills to go along with incredible poise and professionalism is something that is very rare and hard to find these days. My wife went to the bank to refinance our car loan, an employee named Josh approved the loan and asked my wife to bring allpaperworks needed and to get me I I could sign the loan. We did our part with the paperworks just to have our loan declined by his supervisor because of some technical issues with gpregards to gap insurance and warranty of the car. So in short we went there o happily sign a new loan but left with nothing. They got our hopes up and they crashed it back down. read more

Waiting over 35 minutes to try to open an account. This could easily be avoided if there online website wasn't built by a 14 year old just learning html. Walked in today to open three checking accounts, one for myself, adult son, and teen daughter. We signed in and sat on couch waiting. There was a nearby agent that was talking about shopping, kids, this and that and ignoring everything around her. We were never even greeted and many workers saw us sitting there. Waited about ten minutes and someone else came from the back. I thought we'd get help but she proceeded to ignore everyone and go to the back room. That was enough for us. We got up and walked out. If I could give zero stars I would! The customer service here is fuckin ridiculous. The teller told me there would be a hold on my check cuz I've been with them less than 30 days. I assumed a 24 hr maybe 48 hr hold as I was leaving she said 9 days. I was like 9 days um ok. Walked away for a minute and walked back cuz that's just too long , told her I'm sorry I can't wait that long. I didn't have to wait two weeks ago when I deposited my check and I gotta pay rent n bills. So i asked her if she could reverse the transaction. She rolled her eyes acting really rude and annoyed and I told her I'm sorry I just can't wait that long. She didn't say anything just kept this bitch look on her face n then I asked as she handed my check back if it would still go through at other places and she very snobbishly said I'm not going to speak for other people. I was in awe at this point. If ur handling my money u better know if my check is still cashable. I walked out. I just can't get over how rude she was for no reason! I even apologized and thinkn back now I shouldn't have even apologized, she should have made it clear it would've been a 9 day hold at the beginning. I will never go back to this location. I will be sticking with my yuba city location because they know how to treat their customers with respect. I'm sorry if u hate ur life or are miserable it's not ok to take things out on ur customers for no reason. Although I have no problems with the yuba city branch this branch has definitely put a bad taste in my mouth about using golden 1 in general. Not a good start golden 1! read more

I am reviewing this branch, not the golden one company itself. Here at this branch the staff are friendly and polite, however My first bad experience came last year when I arranged to have a cash sum available for me at this branch and when I got there no one knew what I was talking about or had recieved any information about my request. I was forced to go to the roseville branch because the lincoln branch did not have the cash on hand even though I had arranged it with the branch via phone a few days earlier. The second bad experience happened last week when I attempted to cash a check drawn from golden one. I requested to have the transaction ran as a non member because I wanted to keep the transaction separate from the dealings of my golden one account. The rep although friendly was unwilling to help and told me I could not do that. I politely asked to speak to somone else on the matter and she replied that she had ten years of banking experience and that she could not help me. I know otherwise and once again went to another branch were they performed the transaction as needed. read more

We are treated wonderful every time we come in & the staff is always friendly & helpful. They asked if we wanted to refinance our car loan & they have saved us $ 148.00 a month!
