I don't usually write reviews, but the outstanding care and kindness I received from everyone on the staff deserve to be recognized. From the day I arrived, every single person treated me with compassion, respect, and genuine concern for my well-being. During my entire stay, I never encountered a single employee with a bad attitude. That alone says a great deal about the culture of this facility. There is a physician and a nurse practitioner who do rounds every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Both of them were never in a rush to listen to my concerns and issues with my recovery- and I had quite a few in the beginning. They even came to the PT area to make sure nobody was left out. That was truly amazing to me! The nursing staff provided excellent care and always made me feel safe and well looked after. Whenever I rang the bell in the painful stages of my recovery, someone showed up in a very timely fashion. Whenever they didn't, I knew it was because they were busy taking care of someone else, not because they didn't care. The physical therapy team was encouraging, knowledgeable, and truly invested in helping me recover and regain my strength. The housekeeping staff kept my private room spotless and comfortable, making it feel like a home rather than a medical facility. The kitchen staff went above and beyond to make sure I had meals I enjoyed. They were always accommodating and often prepared something extra when I needed it. It was clear that they genuinely cared about making my stay as pleasant as possible. I was also impressed by the administration and leadership. Whenever I needed something, they did everything they could to make it happen. Whether it was a special request or simply making sure I was comfortable, they always responded with kindness and professionalism. What stands out most about The Villages of Lake Highlands is the people. Every department--from administration and nursing to therapy, housekeeping, dietary services, and everyone working behind the scenes--works together with one goal: providing the best possible care for their residents. Their compassion, patience, and genuine love for the people they serve are evident every single day. Recovering away from home can be difficult, but the staff made me feel cared for, respected, and valued throughout my entire stay. They consistently went above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. I am deeply grateful to everyone at Villages of Highland Park for their dedication, kindness, and exceptional care. Over time, his health began to decline, and a friend suggested I look into whether he might qualify for hospice care. He did. Shortly after his 86th birthday, he broke both hips. At that point, he was admitted to Parkland under Medicare. After his surgeries, he was transferred to The Traymore--a beautiful and spotless facility. From the moment he arrived, the staff showed extraordinary kindness and professionalism. Jennifer Diaz (972-330-7349), in particular, was always available to answer my many questions. She even came to my home. One thing I want to make clear: my friend often told people he lived in a "group home," which was not the case. I am 80 myself and not trained or licensed to care for another person. He simply rented a room in my home, and I did my best to support him as his health needs grew. When he entered The Traymore, he returned to Medicare, and I was asked to keep a room for him at my home in case he was ever able to recover enough to leave. But the reality was that his finances were very limited--he had only a small Social Security income and no assets. The Traymore team went above and beyond, spending countless hours working to secure Medicaid approval for him. Thankfully, they succeeded, and now he is able to remain there for the rest of his life. The change in him has been remarkable. He loves the food, enjoys the activities, and is always cheerful when I visit. He's even won bingo three times and couldn't be happier that they serve ice cream. I am deeply grateful to everyone who has cared for him and supported both of us through this journey. Their compassion has made an incredibly difficult situation so much easier to bear. The Traymore is the best!

She was confused went got my sister. Her procedure was canceled for another date! Got no call from anyone of change. I'm not happy and someone has some explaining! This is unexceptable! I was convinced I had a heel fracture (been there, done that, and the reason I already owned the scooter the boot LoL). I was in so much pain I couldn't put weight on my right foot. Honestly, finding a podiatrist was my last resort, fearing the worst. I found Dr. Khan and Lonestar Podiatry and they got me in same day. After a thorough exam, he diagnosed me with Plantar Fasciitis.. sounded like a Harry Potter spell to me. He gave me a steroid shot in my heel and I got 90% pain relief on the spot! Dr. Khan also gave me easy stretching instructions and a PT prescription to help my heel heal. Six weeks later, I'm nearly back to my normal routine, I feel like this whole thing is manageable. Shoutout to the amazing front desk team, too--friendly, efficient, and total pros when it comes to booking, insurance, and not judging you for limping in like a character from Pirates of the Caribbean. Hospice care is covered by Medicare but only covers a few hours per week ... additional care was not covered by Mom's insurance but we needed assistance with Mom. The hospice provider highly recommended Custom Caregivers for the additional care. I got a few quotes from Custom and other caregivers. Custom Caregiver's price was a little higher than other providers we spoke to but we hired Custom. Custom: 1) timely put together a team on short notice 2) showed up and were courteous and attentive 3) did an excellent job in caring for Mom It was money "well spent!"

Called this morning needing assistance for elderly parent. The receptionist was very helpful and…read moreassured me that someone would call me back to arrange for an assessment. I never received a call back. Families are usually in survival mode when reaching out for help. This is unacceptable. I would try elsewhere because they apparently don't care. I would not trust them to provide a caregiver, if they cannot return a call.
