I went in and spoke with Patty, and from the very first conversation she put me completely at ease. She took the time to explain how Tender Hearts works, how flexible and responsive their system is, and reassured me that they are there for families at any given moment, depending on what your needs are. We immediately felt comfortable and supported. For a period of time, my mom was able to be on her own again, but unfortunately she later suffered a stroke. Since then, she has required around-the-clock care, which has been provided primarily by Tender Hearts. Every step of the way, they have handled everything from long-term care coordination to scheduling...making an incredibly stressful situation so much more manageable. At first, I'll admit they seemed a little expensive. But I can say without hesitation: you get exactly what you pay for. The caregivers they've matched with my mom have been nothing short of amazing. Each person has been thoughtful, capable, compassionate, and a perfect fit for her. We have genuinely loved every single caregiver who has come into our home. There was a sitting area near the front desk which was very inviting. I looked around and definitely liked what I saw. The staff appeared to be friendly and helpful towards me and especially towards the patients. There are different sections depending on what level of care the patient needed. There's a really nice looking chapel located on the grounds. In the memory area, it's a locked unit. When I opened the door, an alarm went off and the staff came right away. Perfect for wandering patients! The waiting area for this unit was also very nice. The eating areas were nicely done. There was a TV in the eating area in the memory unit. I noticed that the patients in the memory unit had scheduled activities which was great. The living quarters are so nicely done and personalized with the patients stuff. They have their own bathroom with safety features. I didn't notice any smells. The SNF area takes Medicare and other insurances. A definite must see if you are considering placing your loved one in a memory unit.

Where will I go after this hospitalization? Think about the anxiety and tension not knowing where I would be going. As an 84 year old senior citizen, this predicament could be considered filled with debilitating uncertainty. The social worker and case manager both offered information and possible dispositions. One of the referrals was to Giselle Placement Help. In fact the workers gave me a tip to start off with Giselle. I called her first and she gave me three referrals one in Lynnwood and two in the San ​ Fernando Valley. One never called back , one said I was not eligible , and the third was to an administrator who arrived at the hospital at 12:30 p.m. . After extensively interviewing myself he spoke with all the nurses and doctors in the unit and then inform me that I would be eligible to come to his facility and showed me pictures of the private room where I would be . He was extraordinarily kind and made sure that every need that I had was going to be met . In addition he actually helped me move some of my belongings . So you can see that this referral took care of enormous uncertainty and perhaps Karma is involved in making such a successful transition . ​
