They were one of the very few companies that were willing to move my safe downstairs (the safe is 392 pounds), and their pricing was very reasonable. Avoid! While this used to be a great company, they are no longer. Hired them to rekey simple locks, and they sent someone who did not know how. He was literally on the phone asking for directions. Almost all of the locks were installed incorrectly, locking me out of my house and requiring another day off work for them to return. The replacement employee was appalled at the horrible job the first guy did. No apology. read more

I took a safe in to get it cleaned... I've had it cleaned in the past by someone further away so I thought I would give them a try. I was told it would be $65.00 and they would call me when it was done. Three weeks later, I stopped in to see if it was done... no one really knew as the gentleman that worked on it wasn't there. Safe wouldn't open correctly and it looked as if they changed the combination. I told them they could figure it out and call me the next day. No phone call... so I called them... again, no answers to my questions.... they said they would call me back. Finally, they called the next day and left me a voicemail saying that it would now cost me $400 to fix broken parts! It was never broken... just dirty and needed cleaned (I've had it cleaned several times before)! I called the manufacturer and the only way the that these parts could be broken is for someone to take it apart and damage it. They bit off more than they could chew or they let someone inexperienced take my safe apart and broke the parts. I called and said that I would pay for labor if they would take care of parts they broke... they said they'd call me back.... still waiting after a month read more

We needed our house locks changed and scheduled our appointment a couple of weeks ahead when we needed. They called ahead and showed up on time. They installed some new handles we purchased as well as changed a lock on a slider for us. Both were polite, worked quickly and went above to even point out an issue with one of our doors. Initial experience was fine and for simple things they have been fine. But then came a larger job. Had to track down multiple times for info on quotes. Prices for products were double the actual cost of the item and they charge over $100 an hour on top of that in addition to the trip fee. I would recommend businesses avoid this company. read more

We had lost power and couldn't get in our house. I called numerous other so called locksmiths but determined 95% of the calls I made were to call centers out of state that would contract someone to come to your house. I wasn't comfortable whatsoever with that arrangement - especially at 12:30am. Fortunately I called Golden Bear and TJ came to our house and was able to get us in. Had to replace a deadbolt lock, called them up and spoke with Sean. Told him my issue and he asked me to send him a picture of the latch that needed to be replaced. I emailed it to him and he had it in stock. I asked him how much it would be to repair it and he said it would be easy for me to do myself, rather than pay to have him come out. He explained what I needed to do and he was right. It took me 5 minutes. I picked up the part and installed it. I appreciated him being honest and recommending I do it myself. Great service. Two men assisted me, performing a cleaning function on my lock without charge, and recommending products so I can keep my locks clean and lubricated.
