So the first time I came in I was informed no alcohol and the guy behind the counter gave me directions to the closest wine & spirits, which was very nice. Then the second time I came in, to actually buy beer, I was clearly looking lost still and another attendant asked if I needed help and walked me to locate my Coronaritas. He also informed me that they do beer tastings on some Saturdays in case I was interested, since I am always interested in free alcohol I thought that was fabulous too. So needless to say, I will definitely be returning to the Neshaminy Beverage, although I still think it should be renamed to Neshaminy Beer instead.

BYOB's are very common place in PA. but usually I know in advance. Once seated I asked to see their wine list and was quickly informed there was none. Oh my, it's Sunday and our server said there is a State Store two doors down, I reminded her that it was Sunday, she assured me they were open. What the hey, not believing her I decided to check it out and sure enough they were open and I bought my bottle of chilled wine. I came home and checked the PLCB's site and there are now 154 Sunday stores open in Pennsylvania from noon until 5:00pm! Yay, PA. is finally growing up! You still will not find wine, beer or spirits in a grocery store or market, the PLCB controls it all except for a few scattered here and there in the big cities. Am I happy and a lush? You betcha!

She showed me where all their new beers were. I took home a few, and was pretty pleased by their prices. They also have some food here, which is pretty cool! I will be coming here for quite a while, as a craft beer store was much needed in these parts. I highly recommend it.

The inventory is definitely focused on wine from around the globe, with enough American vintages to honor most of the west coast vineyards. Not much from the East. That oversight is corrected by their bourbon/whiskey aisle which offers an interesting dive into some of the secondary and tertiary distilling from some of the older and larger southern industrial stills. I was there to restock our supply of Amaretto and sipping bourbon which we had been enjoying at home during this prolonged pandemic. Those Amaretto Sours were a big hit, and Wild Turkey Honey shots were great with hummus, baba ganoush and fava beans. The staff was knowledgeable, masked and they packed everything well. While the choices are not as extensive as the big stores in Jersey (think Joe Canal's), and because it is Pennsylvania, lacks any beer, this Premium Selection Fine Wine house is attractive and much cleaner than the competition on the other side of the Delaware River. Given the choice, cost of fuel and extra time needed for crossing the bridges, this emporium offers a reasonable alternative without leaving town.
