My husband and I visited Golden Bucket for a couples massage, and unfortunately, it was an incredibly disappointing experience. I booked what I thought was a combined package for both of us, only to find out upon arrival that the cost was per person, which was not clearly stated on their menu.
Upon entering, we were met with uncomfortable stares from several employees in the lobby, which made us feel unwelcome from the start. Despite arriving slightly late, we had to wait an additional 15 minutes before being seated. To our surprise, instead of a private setting as expected for a couples massage, we were led into a room with multiple tables and other clients receiving treatments.
The massage itself was not what we had booked. The advertised 128-minute Combo B was supposed to include specific segments like a 20-minute head and hand massage, a 50-minute back massage, and a 50-minute foot massage, each with additional complimentary add-ons. However, we only received basic treatments without the promised extras. My massage was uncomfortably rough, and I had to repeatedly ask the masseuse to ease up. The environment was also distracting with loud noises from the surroundings and unprofessional whispering among the staff.
After our massages, we were left alone in the room without any inquiry about our experience. When we finally found our way to the front desk to pay, the staff seemed indifferent and unorganized, congregating and laughing among themselves until they noticed us. No one asked about our satisfaction with the service, despite the hefty bill of $256.
To add to the disappointment, the treatment of my husband and me felt discriminatory. The staff's behavior suggested they were unfamiliar or uncomfortable with Black clientele, which added to our feeling of being unwelcome and undervalued as customers. This was underscored by their insistence on a tip, despite the subpar service received.
When my husband tried to address our concerns with management, they feigned a language barrier and did not engage meaningfully with our feedback. Overall, this was the worst spa experience we've ever had, characterized by misleading information, poor service, and an unwelcoming atmosphere. We regret spending our money at this establishment and would caution others against expecting the advertised quality of service. read more
