This is a tricky review- the manager (I think she is the manager) was so very helpful and kind. She went above and beyond both before and after my appointment. My actual salon visit was less impressive but not due to the end results. I am happy now with my hair but it was much more drastic than I thought it would be or from what I asked for. There was very little communication with my stylist and so I was somewhat shocked at the end. I've gotten lots of compliments so clearly he did a great job with the color and cut but I wish I had been more in the know throughout the process. The salon itself is very nice. Worst experience ever. I went in for a curly perm spent five hours on Friday and returned on Saturday for the owner to spend 4 more hours pressuring me into more expensive services and still left with my hair in worse shape and no curls. The owner is mean to her people they are scare to speak and she pressures you until you give. Bad experience and I guess it was an expensive lesson to learn. They even sold me product that was used after I got home I realized that the seals were broke on both bottle and they were not full. Very very bad experience read more

Terrible experience. I went in asking for ashy/cool blonde highlights with a reference photo, the stylist said they could do it. It was only AFTER they already put the bleach in my hair I was told they spoke with their manager, and were actually unable to achieve that color. I've debated about leaving a review for a long time and finally, I feel like I have to. Long story short I got a cut in April that I was very displeased with. As you can see in this picture I asked for this wolf cut, where her shortest layer reaches to the start of her neck, after the cut, my shortest layer barely reached the half of my head mark. I believe it was about maybe 2 inches long. I even remember clearly letting her know that I didn't want the blunt bangs like that and so she offered "curtain bangs" and thinking we have the same idea in mind I said yes exactly. What I ended up getting was a mullet and yes, I should've said something, but I didn't notice until she already cut my bangs to a whopping 2 inches long. I do also want to add that after going home and going through the haircut I noticed that initially she cut a piece of my bangs too short, there was a good chunk that was about 1 inch and then the rest was 2 inches, so maybe she started off too short because she forgot and then kind of tried to blend it out . When I went in, I had full length hair no layers and I let her know I wanted to keep the length but understandably knew she might have to go up an inch but I just wanted layers. But yes, what I ended up with was a very short mullet, it's been almost about three months later and not to be dramatic, but I wake up every day, hating the way I look. I love looking really cute and feminine and girly and this gives off rocker 80s vibes that are just not me. I did let her know at the end that it was way shorter than how I intended and brought up My bangs were too short, but she claimed that she didn't know I wanted the bangs to be different.( I moved them to the sides bc in the front it looked bad on me) I tried to be positive and say that it would grow and really cute but that's what I thought, it hasn't, it's grown and how you think a mullet would with the lowest layers being super long and the rest on the head growing too short, which means I'm having to keep going in and cutting my hair to match the shortest layer. For a mullet, it was cut very beautifully but compared to the picture It's not what I asked for, I definitely believe that, especially starting off with wet hair she should've started off her shortest layer long if that makes sense and then after drying the haircut and seeing the true length, then should you cut more off. I don't remember the name, but I do know that that she was Asian. I do also want to mention that the haircut end ended up being $70 and I was not made aware of this when I walked in. I felt bad and tipped 20 too bc her washed and massaged me nicely. (I'm also adding a picture of what my hair looks like when I wake up in the morning because this is something that's completely new to me. Ive always woke up and gone about my day kind of girl but now every morning, I have to style my hair and it's irritating) Also, I'm not trying to hate I'm trying to share my true experience and when I did first walk in for this haircut after I was seated in her chair, she stood next to me on her phone for about a good 10 minutes without acknowledging me and it felt so awkward and it made me feel bad) read more

I loved the time I spent at Full Spectrum. The prices are right and they are honest about the cost before they begin. Their stylists continue to train and grow by working with each other and their owner provides constant support (Ruth really wants every stylist and client to be happy and to grow in their art). My stylist, Elena, communicated with me before she started and really took the time to understand my style and my expectations. I also got to observe her coaching a novice about the best way to creat layers with making them look choppy. She was clear in her instructions and modeled well. I have been going to Sarah Gomez for a while and I love the way she does my hair. However... the place is awful! I just can't deal with incompetent people. I had an appointment for six weeks now set for 11 o'clock today. I called to confirm and they told me it was at noon because they were all in a meeting. I don't know when the meeting was scheduled I don't know how long they've known there was gonna be an issue but a phone call would've been really nice I didn't get one. Really enjoyed my experience here. The salon is spacious and clean. The shampoo room is very nice with a fireplace in it! The warm towels after a shampoo are an unexpected luxury and something I'll look forward to each time. Annah cut my hair and she did a great job and really focused on what I wanted. I've already booked a repeat appointment. While I was there I observed the owner walking around and making sure all was well, people were happy and stylists had what they needed. Made an appt for a partial highlight, no cut, no blow dry. Nothing fancy, just blend in some grays on top. Usually takes about an hour in the past when I've had them done. I got a call from them telling me they couldn't do anything without a consultation first, that my scheduled time would be a consult only and then I would need to schedule at least 3 hours at separate appt on another day to actually do anything. I understand if you're getting a cut, color, style, highlights etc all at the same time that this might be a good idea, but nothing but a few highlights on top with no cut, no style etc.? You don't have stylists that can do a few highlights without taking up 2 days of my time? I've had highlights done many, many times and this was pretty ridiculous. They also talked to me like I was ignorant. I did have this done at this salon pre-Covid and it all went smoothly. Not complicated at all. I'm a little iffy about my experience. I normally don't write reviews but if this helps the business then why not. They were able to get me in last minute and the lady on the phone was super nice. The place itself looks clean and modern. Right off the bat my stylist was trying to sell me on a Brazilian blowout and kept being nit picky about my hair. That's obviously why I came here. I understand you want the best for your client but the least you could do is make a connection before trying to sell them on a $300 treatment. On top of that, I told her I didn't want my bangs touched and she proceeded to thin them out. My fault for not doing my research before coming in. Just read through another review with a similar experience. Please tell your stylist to stop pushing for Brazilian blowouts, especially by insulting someone's hair. read more

I'm in my 50's & this was the WORST experience I've ever had getting my hair done. I specifically chose an Aveda salon & paid extra for a stylist who said she was a master stylist because I wanted a good cut & color. Paid &225 for a Fantastic Sam's cut & color. I brought multiple pictures if the haircut I wanted from multiple angles & multiple pictures of the color I wanted & went over that before we began I had this cut pre-COVID, because was very easy to fix every day. I emphasized the bangs being full. I got a cut that is less than an inch on top & sticks up. It will be a nightmare EVERY day trying to get it to not look like I'm deranged. One major issue is that I had pictures of highlights & lowlights & paid extra to have dimensional color, but my hair turned out light blonde EVERYWHERE (pictures had dark blonde/brown in them, but she didn't use darker color). She put color on 3/4 of my hair then left to do someone else's hair, leaving me with color on my hair for an extended period of time before coming back to finish putting the color on. (BTW the other customer was actually there before me & left sitting while she did mine). During the time she tended to the other woman, everyone there knew the other woman was unhappy with her cut but had to use her son to translate for her. The beautician argued with the woman & told me it was a translation issue. I should have known then not to let her get the shears out to cut mine, but I believed her. Then she finished my color & put me under a dryer but did not turn it on. I've had my hair colored more times than I can count. She was doing the dryer to look like she was doing what she was supposed to for the other people around her). I looked at my phone & she had color on my hair for 2 hours at that point (she started at 1 & it was 3). Frying my hair may be why she chose to cut it all off, in retrospect. Then she began cutting. It didn't seem she brought forward enough hair for the cut I showed her (mind you I had this cut for years prior to COVID, so I'm very familiar what it looks like when it's cut properly). I said something then, reminding her of the cut I wanted-showed the picture again. My hair was chin length & I wanted a short cut. So I wasn't concerned about the back as she cut because it was supposed to be very short. But as she began cutting the top, I panicked. I knew she was cutting the top very short, & my hair is fine, thick & has natural curl so I know my hair & NEVER have the top short because the shorter it is the curlier & less controllable. Tge heavier long bang weighs down my hair such that it has body but doesn't have uncontrollable curl. I stopped her & told her she was cutting it too short. The next few minutes were her arguing with me that I didn't know what haircut I wanted & her continuing to cut until I literally got out of the chair & walked to the front of the place to pay $225.00 to have my hair completely butchered. I paid & made it to my car before crying. I'm writing this in the middle of the night because I'm awake & upset. This is really unusual for be to be upset because I don't care that much about appearance. But I care A LOT how much time & effort it will take to deal with this every day. I'm sure if I didn't speak English she would've done what she did to the woman before me, telling everyone in the place that the woman didn't understand what needed to be done (btw) I realize now that woman also had curly hair & the stylist was Asian-so maybe she just didn't know how to do non-Asian hair. Of course the stylist had 2inch roots & bleached blonde-so it looked horrible -something I only noticed once she left me with color on my hair for hours, unfortunately. Additionally, the salon was also loud. People kept dropping stuff. When she washed my hair she kept dropping a big bottle that (my impression) she was trying to get the last drop out of. She had my hair in a tangled mess tge way she initially waged it & had to over condition to get it untangled. It was really surprising for an Aveda salon. I felt like I was at Fantastic Sams. And I got a cheep poorly done cut & color but paid Aveda prices for the privilege. read more

It took a while because of how dark it was, but she was so patient and sweet the entire time and wanted to make sure it came out great! I had a color touch up to cover gray, full dimensional highlight color services, as well as cut with Darlene. The color looks wonderful, a blend of honey blonde with some low light areas. No more grey and a wonderful cut to correct my home trims over the past two months. Darlene is a skilled colorist and stylist. I would recommend her. Check the prices of the salon before you book- the haircut is an additional charge on top of the color services, which can get a bit pricey. Darlene recommended a plan for future services on a regular schedule to reduce costs over time: a color touch up in 6-8 weeks, followed by partial highlights the next two times. Today was a total color job so more involved. The salon is very attractive and clean and the owner, Ruth, is very cheerful and helpful. read more

Very disappointed. Made an appointment for a hair consult this evening. Arrived and receptionist appeared bothered because I interrupted her personal phone call. The stylist was very nice but in a rush because she had one customer in a chair and another coming in for a correction to her haircut earlier in the day. I would have waited for a proper consult but was told that there was no time. I got my quote of approximately $300 for what I am looking for. I'm not going to diss other people's one-star reviews, because we all have our own experiences (I certainly have had my fair share, just read all my reviews), but this place is fantastic. I made an appointment an hour before I went in after a recommendation from my mom. Chelsey was my stylist and now she's MY stylist. I never have any clue what to do with my hair so it mostly just dangles around my face like I'm a member of an early aughts boy band. I gave her 100% creative license with cut and color and just asked for something that flattered my face and didn't make my rosacea look worse. She did amazing. I personally think my hair looks like Kate Middleton's now, just find this girl a tiara. She is very friendly and personable and obviously loves her job. I came in for a haircut, and the stylist did not really listen to my request for the style I wanted. I was then persuaded to get new color which I agreed to. The color is good but I saw gray all around my face and neckline, this even before my first shampoo at home. I also feel my hair was over conditioned because it is hard for me to style.
