Part of the clean, colorful interior

This restaurant could be the poster child for good Americanized Chinese food. It's located in a small, busy strip center, and the inside is nicely decorated, a bit upscale, a nice comfort level. The lunch menu is rather limited, though the dinner menu adds some more variety, but neither menu strays far off the reservations when it comes to traditional Chinese dishes - there simply are few. We started with Fried Chicken Wings, to be followed by Shrimp Fried Rice, Pork Egg Foo Young, and Kung Pao Shrimp. The wings were out quickly, and they were nicely cooked, though a bit muted as to flavor. The drumettes were a bit dry as well, the flat or wingette pieces were much more tender, juicy. The entrees took awhile to come out of the kitchen, nearly 30 minutes - I would guess this was because we did not order any lunch specials. None of the entrees were "bad", but then again none were exceptional. The general theme running through all 3 dishes was a recurring blandness, even the Kung Pao Shrimp - this is a dish that should carry some spiciness, but that was not present here, and in fact the major taste was one of sweetness. The Egg Foo Young gravy was not one either of us cared for, the actual pancake without the cloying gravy was very nice, totally fresh tasting. The Shrimp Fried Rice was really the most bland, and it was simply rice & shrimp - no corn, or peas. The service was delightful - the older Chinese gentleman who waited on us was engaging, funny, and efficient. - in a short time he will leave for a month's visit to Singapore, his home, he seemed really excited. I like the atmosphere & the service - we'll be back to try other items on the menu - I want them to be equal to the atmosphere and service.

1/2 Hot & Dour-1/2 Wonton So satisfying!

Since COVID-19, the owner has continued to make ordering and pick up, so safe ! Last night I picked up the best 1/2 wonton.1/2 hot & sour soup, during this cold weather it was a wonderful start to my Shrimp Egg Foo Young, and shrimp fried rice, both were loaded with fresh shrimp and sauce was delicious ! I know have more than enough for a couple more meals that never lose flavor when reheated ' just one of my favorite places to eat !

Food was average, service was good. Napkins were dirty and the Sesame Chicken was made with dark meat.

Like stepping back 40 years in time, and I mean that in a good way! Great "old school" American Chinese. Will definitely come again!

These people steal tips from their employees as I've heard it from multiple former employees. The food is okay but the owner is a real tool.

Hibachi House - Gave me wrong order.

I was hangry for some Chinese food and wanted something really good. I looked on Yelp and the…read moreoriginal place I wanted to try was close for the day. I then asked my boyfriend what he recommended and he said, Hibachi House. I looked on Yelp at this place and the ratings are no bueno, but my boyfriend insisted I try it for myself and I not base it reviews. I was extremely hesitant, but took his word for it. I order the dinner combo plate which came with rice if choice and 1 entree and egg roll. I ordered sweet and sour chicken with bbq pork fried rice. The staff was friendly and even help with suggestions. The restaurant itself is super clean, but when I went it was only 2 people dining in and 1 person picking up Togo. I get my food and the portion are okay, I don't think it was worth $12 for what I received. I get back to go eat it and the first thing I notice is there is absolutely no bbq pork in my fried rice. The other thing I noticed is my chicken definitely wasn't sweet and sour chicken. My boyfriend tried to make excuses and was like just try the food.. ugh! I try the chicken first and yep! It wasn't sweet and sour, but orange chicken. I will say, the chicken was tender juicy and very flavorful. Now to the fried rice... it was a complete disappointment. The rice for 1 was undercooked there were no bbq pork in it, it was just cooked in soy sauce with an unnecessary about of chopped onions on it, it was disgusting. I hate to give it 2 stars, but I should have went with my gut and went somewhere else. This place isn't it. Save your money and good elsewhere.

It's also worth mentioning the person who took my order has to ask someone else if anything was in the fried rice when I asked. This wasn't the typical hibachi I am used to and was much closer to regular Chinese food than hibachi as far as how it was prepared and its taste. I may go back to try a Chinese dish but certainly would not recommend the hibachi. This is ironic considering the name. The customer service wasn't out of this world, but no one was mean, rude or disrespectful.

So, I haven't had Chinese since moving to Burlington 3 years ago. I had a wonderful place in…read moreRaleigh that sadly didn't survive COVID. I have been craving for a while and so today for lunch, thought I'd give in to the craving. Now, full disclosure, I got delivery today. I have a few meetings I can't miss so I relied on a delivery service. I don't think it had anything to do with the food quality though. I ordered general tso's combo plate with a veggie roll. Additionally I ordered veggie lomein for tomorrow, more on this in a bit. The dish looked like Generals chicken, but had a weird smell. I tried a piece of chicken and was put off by a chewiness one doesn't expect with chicken. I thought it was just that piece so I tried another. Nope, gross chewy texture. The sauce wasn't spicy at all, but sticky sweet. Also, the rice had a very weird flavor. Blech. So much for that craving. The egg roll was actually pretty good if somewhat soft. The flavor was pretty decent. This is where we come back to the lomein. A single egg roll and 2 pieces of chicken aren't really enough so I was very grateful I ordered an additional dish. Sadly, the lomein was seriously soupy. Just over flowing with soy sauce. Just ..gross. Well, it's not the best health wise so I'm glad for the result. I am now completely off Chinese food.

BEWARE OF THE RED PEPPER SYMBOL on the menu!!!! If you love spicy, indulge! If you are sensitive or…read morecan't handle spice, run faaaaar away from these items. Most places put a pepper symbol and it's not spicy at all, but this single red pepper symbol means business!!!!!! I'm sensitive to spice at the moment so eating my food was a bit of a marathon....but in a good way! Think runny nose & sweating hot with tons of delicious flavor. To start, we served wonton strips with a white yum yum type sauce which was a nice surprise. For our app we had the crab puffs (crab ragoons) which of course were not spicy, perfectly crispy and had the right amount of filling. I also ordered a dragon roll which came out after my main entree since the sushi bar was backed up. This actually worked out perfect because the cream cheese in the roll was a great way to calm the spice in my main entree. The mango and crab on the roll were very fresh, and the size was also pretty hefty for being an 8 piece roll. I could have easily made this into a lighter full meal. For my main entree I got the spicy basil with chicken (red pepper sign alert!!!), brown rice and miso soup. The miso soup was good as expected, the brown rice was cooked to perfection and served in a side bowl, and the main entree was plentiful with perfectly cooked veggies & chicken! This dish brought the heat but in a very good way!!! I couldn't get enough of that spicy basil flavor!!!! I only ate half the dish so looking forward to a delicious lunch today! Can't wait to come back and try more of their dishes but while I'm sensitive to spice at the moment I may avoid the pepper symbol for a bit!

I ordered the vegetable Lo Mein (without mushrooms & onions). I've had other dishes here, like the…read moreveggie curries, that were great. But this Lo Mein is the worst I've ever tasted unfortunately. The noodles were mushy and overcooked. The "sauce" basically tasted like oily vegetable broth. As you can see from the veggies in the picture, they are just oily without a char and without any flavors. The dish honestly just looks bland as you can see. I can't tell if this was cooked in a microwave or an actual wok because there's no caramelization of any flavors. Nearly $20 for this dish on top of that. A lot of locals prioritize this place over other smaller Asian options here in Mebane but I'm not certain if I'd return for anything based on this waste of money.
