It is takeout. Food was cooked when ordered and was hot. I was very hungry. Sat in the car to eat. Chicken in the dish I ordered didn't look right. Thin pieces and correct color. Texture and taste not chicken breast. Maybe processed chicken. It tasted weird. I threw the chicken in the trash. I will not go there again. Not sure of the great reviews regarding taste but I ordered the general tso chicken. It is typical of most Chinese places you go to. A small sliver of 20% dark meat chicken battered with the rest of the 80% breading. As an avid cook, this is impossible to achieve this breading method without it being frozen. The sauce had the typical KARO syrup you would find in a bottle. The fried rice was ok and the broccoli was the only unprocessed non frozen item on my plate. The lady was a little short but I was fine with her. She had moments of pleasantness and I was un-deterred. As another pointed out regarding the space, it felt like a plastic enclosed Covid terrarium and reminded me of the nightmare of 2020. If you like processed fast Chinese food, save yourself a few bucks and hit the frozen section of your nearest grocery store. read more

The food here is amazing and the egg rolls are to die for!! If you're looking for a place to chit chat with the staff, you should probably go somewhere else. The staff aren't being rude, they are just focusing on their work and there is a language barrier to keep in mind. We've been ordering from Great Wall since they opened, I believe. About 24 years ago. The food is excellent and they have always accommodated the Vegetarians in my house. What people view as rudeness is a language barrier. The lady does'nt make small talk, it makes her nervous and they stay very busy and are always focused on Work. My oldest went to school with their kids. They came from a Communist Government that only allows one child and it's the male that cares for the Elderly parents. So they came from a world away with nothing and worked day and night to have a business, home and put 3 kids(2 are female)through College and did it the "LEGAL WAY" and for the love of their children! They have'nt taken any handouts, just worked very hard for all they have but there are always those that love to tear them down. Many go in for food then gripe and moan expecting everything for free. God says if you don't work, you don't eat! I have been visiting this Chinese restaurant for over 20 years. The lady that runs the restaurant is very fast but short, sweet, and to the point. I have seen people describe her as rude or mean, but that is not accurate. She may come across as having a short temper, but people need to realize that this is part of their culture. I have watched as the children have grown up, helped in the restaurant, and now are gone, probably off at school. The whole family works hard to keep the business a success. For me, I think they set a good example for other businesses. Everytime I order food there, they knows what sauces I like, even if I haven't been in months they always gets the order correct. If I order chow mein they always ask if I know the chow mein and lo mein are different. This to me is good customer service. I would gues that ignorant customers have had temper tantrums in the past because they ordered incorrectly and then took it out on the staff. Everyone that has given this restaurant a bad review needs to understand that takeout Chinese is not supposed to taste like PF Changs. Just like a McDonalds cheese burger doesn't taste like a home grilled cheese burger. And the portions of food are plenty big for any normal person. I am not a skinny person by far and the portions are always big enough. As far as scallops, you would be crazy to expect "real scallops" from any take out Chinese restaurant if they are less than 6 dollars. And any reasonable person would not expect brewed tea in a take out Chinese restaurant. This is Alamance county for goodness sake. And for the complaints that it is 90 degrees in the lobby, so what! If you are there it's not like you are sitting down to eat. You go in, pickup your order and leave. Why waste energy to heat and cool a lobby where people are in and out the door constantly. Worst Chinese resturant! It's is nasty and not clean at all in there. The fact that while I was ordering my food the man was blowing his nose and I never saw him wash his hands is disgusting. We must've went on a bad day. This is THE worst chinese food I've ever had. I had the Four Seasons, it's not that it tasted bad...it had no taste at all. No seasoning whatsoever. My husband got the fried scallops. As soon as he opened it I told him they looked like something from the frozen food aisle at the grocery store and they tasted like fish sticks. We knew this place was take-out only, but we did not know the area where you wait was going to be about 90 degrees. They also only have tea in a can. First order for lo mein was overcharged! Second time asked for spicy (chili) didn't get it! Third and ...last time... I explicitely asked for szechuan shredded chicken with szechuan cabbage, the lady said yes I know number 4. Drive home and found out this time she gave me some sort of sliced chicken with mixed veggies like chop suey. Drove back and they offered to put some szechuan sauce on it, then claimed "no, no shredded chichen!."
