We ordered from Golden China restaurant today. The food arrived hot but the teriyaki chicken was burnt the house fried rice just had pork and chicken in it when it was supposed to have scallops and shrimp. The steamed dumplings were excellent the crab Rangoon was very good. My husband got a chicken and broccoli with fried rice and there was no rating on how hot it was, but he said it was very spicy. I've had previous visits to Golden China restaurant and it's always been very good. Perhaps today was a fluke. I will try them again though make sure. read more

I ordered plain rice, steamed stir-fry and rangoons and everything was good. Customer service wise, not so much. I ordered my food with diligence and made very clear my request and the person taking my order kept asking me strange questions "Do you want salt and pepper on the side or hot sauce?" I couldn't help but laugh at the remark. Then she tells me to call next time before I come. I did not perceive at all why she may have said that to me. On top of that, she begins to eat her dinner in a nonsolicited area. I thought that was rude and selfish. I did not like that experience at all, very disgraceful. read more

The food is decent. The egg rolls aren't consistent. The sauce for the egg foo young is not the best but plenty of shrimp in them. Probably won't order that dish again though. The orange shrimp is good but as you can see in the pics, the shrimps used are tiny. It's mostly breading and sauce. I have noticed that their fried dishes with sauce, such as the orange shrimp and general tsos chicken are never crispy. I understand they are swimming in sauce so they're bound to get soggy but I've gotten these dishes at places where they are very crispy, even the next day when reheating. Maybe it depends on the frying process and what is actually used to coat the meat. A decent Chinese spot, with fair prices and good portions. Just need to know what to and not to get. read more

Horrible and I mean the worst Chinese food I've ever had.. I honestly don't even know what to call this food cause it sure wasn't Chinese. I ordered General Tso chicken and "fried rice." No idea what kind of sauce they tossed these spongy, pieces of "chicken" in but I just could not continue after literally eating only 2 pieces. The "fried rice" was literally white rice tossed in soy sauce. I threw away all of my food, so this visit was a complete waste of time and money. This was a to go order, I went here on a whim I googled the closest Chinese spot and ended up here.. guess I should've researched a little more. We had not been to Golden China, for quite a while. since a couple of Chinese places closed in Reynoldsburg, we gave it a try. Very nice surprise ! Five of us got carry out of General Tso's, Shrimp Fried Rice, Shrimp Lo Mein, Triple Delight, and a Veggie Stir Fry, of some kind. So we got a good mix, to try. We don't have a ton of good Chinese places on the east side but this place isn't bad at all. The prices are comparable to what you'd expect but you get a ton of food. I ordered lol mein and fried rice and it was a lot. My only complaint is the fried rice has no veggies and eggs in it like most fried rice. We ordered for the whole office and there were only two orders that should have been fried rice and had white rice instead. I also think we were underquoted for the time so it wasn't ready when we picked it up. Other than that the food was decent and it was affordable. read more

The fried rice is so good and the chicken had great flavor. A ton of food for what you pay and the order was 100% accurate. I will definitely return to try other dishes and will 100% order that delicious fried rice again. Only struggle was the traffic on Brice road is terrible sometimes so getting in and out isn't too fun. The egg-rolls were bland, the sweet and sour sauce was just sweet sauce. The orange chicken had zero orange flavor and was overall sweet, but it was fresh and wasn't soggy so that was good. Golden China is one of the best Chinese restaurants I have ever had the good fortune to eat at. A small, family-owned establishment, Golden China produces pure excellence. The location has a great atmosphere, good for everything from a solo sit-down to a small meeting. The staff is exceptionally friendly, the meals are reasonably priced ($5.95 - $7.95 a la carte, a dollar more for a combo meal) and generous with the portions, and the selection is great. Two of my favorite dishes are the Wor Sue Gai, which has a unique sauce that's very delicious, and the General Tso's Chicken, which has the perfect balance between spiciness and flavor. While there's no wait staff per se, the employees will bring you your meal or provide you with refills at request. I've been eating at this location for 14 years, and I've never been disappointed, nor have the friends I've brought, who have become regulars as well. You order first then you can sit down or get it to-go. Most people get it to-go. My daughter like to eat in. The food is served fast and hot. The lemon or wor sue gah chicken is good. So far we only tried the chicken dishes and we have had no complaints. We were luckly to be there when they celebrated Chinese New Year. A drum group played while two men in a dragon costume and a girl danced around the outside of the resturant first and then danced inside. Firecrackers were also set off. I love what I get every single time I go. Though they do lack some of the variety of other local Chinese places, this is great if you want the staples. The staff is nice and always offers a smile. Food is hot and tastes amazing. :) Definitely recommend if you just need your fix. Stopped here while staying at nearby motel. If you are looking for a place where you order at a counter and then go sit down (or take out): 1) Food was ok: sauces were a bit heavy and intense. Mongolian beef was heavy on sliced yellow onions, with a bit of scallion greens. Every other place I've had Mongolian beef, there were lots of scallions and little or no sliced onions. The kung pao dish was ok. 2) They gave fairly large servings, with generous rice. Pricing was ok. 3) I was expecting something a little more like a restaurant. But water and coke were served in styrofoam cups and dinner on plastic/styrofoam plates, with plasticware rather than metal "silverware." No chopsticks were offered. 4) No "dinner plates" were offered separate from the "serving plates." Usually, people share entrees at a Chinese meal. But here, each entree was served on a styrofoam plate, with rice, as if each entree was for one and only one person. The two of us ended up eating directly from the two serving plates--which was a little awkward. It would have been impossible if we had, say, a group of 6 who wanted to share. read more

I would give zero stars if I could. We ordered General TSO'S and this didn't resemble it. We live two minutes away, so food didn't have a chance to get cold, but it was cold and not one crispy piece. I love this family-owned Chinese restaurant. This place is nice and clean for dine-in or carry-out. The food portion is big enough for two people and the prices are reasonable (between $5-$9) per entree.
