I have to admit I was very impressed by this establishment out here in these Houma streets. Apparently it's a go to breakfast spot Sunday mornings before or after service and that's what we did after church yesterday we met up there a couple of cousins while I was visiting and I will say that the food here is much better prepared than it is in California. I ate two whole biscuits with honey butter and jelly and it was soft and fluffy I mean everything on the buffet was hot being turned over fast of course the restaurant was pretty packed so not in the morning you can fresh fresh hot food they have an omelet station I mean I can't complain about that for the price like $16 all you can eat breakfast and it was decent but although it is a chain restaurant breakfast them sisters was back there making it feel a little more like homemade. read more

Shirley was an awesome server. The food was good, especially for a buffet. The lines were so long - it took me 35 minutes to get inside. The turkey was a bit dry and there was no seasoning on the turkey skin, which is what often the best part. I must admit, the n Thanksgiving it hit the spot for f needing comfort food. Well friends, the Corral is back. The new seating arrangements offer a bit more semi private dinning, the entrance is a lot stranger than before. You kind of stand in the middle of two countertops and pay . Which I must mention is higher than it was before and what I expected. Actually a bit higher than I expected and probably no longer a family gathering place option. $40 for two seniors was my bill. Oh and I have to mention, it seems to take at least 5 people to watch you order and pay the 1 young lady at the register. This has to be it , because they were otherwise not doing anything but joshing each other about personal issues. It is a bit cleaner for the moment, but we will see in a month or two. Nothing has changed about the cuisine, same food chain items. I waited in line for a tiny piece of steak from the grill for 15 minutes after placing my order ( yes I timed it) got passed over several times for someone I assume knew the grill chef by the looks and nods that passed between them only to end up getting the gristle end of the giant slab. The rest of the offerings as I said are the same and there is variety to choose from. Lots of empty bowls on the line with remnants of what was there and lots of staff standing behind the lines that ignore you if you ask about or point out something you may have wanted if there were some in the empty bowl. They kinda pretend they don't understand you, but if you cruise the line long enough you hear them chat in English to one another ? Now I do realize people can get sloppy at the buffet lines and children are being allowed to serve them selves.. so you get the mixing of foods and a flow of sauces, rice, crumbs of all sorts spread out to the bar and other foods. Again not many attendants attending to this so the line at certain areas is not attractive or enticing. Bacon bits on the line were still very pink, sticking together in a glob and seemed very near raw, fresh out the packed and chopped up. Fried chicken still had lots of blood in it where the meat was actually sticky, but the baked potatoes were so well done, they had nearly turned to mashed potatoes in the foil. And the salad bar made me sad... it just needed refreshing and a clean up around it. Sad to say as much as we enjoy the variety offered, and as much as Houma needs a family gathering restaurant, I'm not sure how long the Corral will be the offering of it. read more

I have always wanted to try this place and finally did. I expected it to be very low in quality and taste. It was not as bad as I expected but it was not great either. You do get a lot of bang for your buck. They have many choices in the types of cuisine, type of meat, type of desserts and salads. I would give it a 2.5 stars but it couldn't have been that bad if I want back a second time with some friends. Parking is provided. read more

Meh. The food is okay. There is a lot to choose from but the quality does not meet the price I paid. Over $15 with no drink. The salad bar was the best thing I had. The steak was not very tasty. I was hoping for the price I paid I could at least enjoy that. The dessert bar looked good if you like that. I'm not a big dessert fan. The waitresses are usually super friendly. I honestly enjoy the food and customer service. The plates and utensils remain clean despite how busy they have been since reopening after IDA and renovations. My little one has no problem eating here and especially enjoys the desert options. I always try to include a honey bun with my meals. My last Thanksgiving was spent only with my little brother but we had a really enjoyable meal at Golden Corral and Lord knows that boy is picky. read more

Ok we all know there will be issues with buffets. For the price you pay you would think that the service area for the steak items would be a little friendlier. I could not even eat my sirloin steak because it was so tough and I have my own teeth so you would think it would be easier to chew NOT!!! The roast beef with gravy, potatoes and carrots is good with one exception too much FAT. Take a few minutes an trim it up a bit, it doesn't take much to keep customers coming back. Have an eye for detail. The servers are super friendly but they aren't cooking the food. Slow down if it is good people will wait, I have seen the workers sling the dishes in to replace the others. For the price I paid, the food was good. We ate lunch on a friday. Had many choices to choose from. I wish I would have had more stomach room to eat more. I'd recommend it. The only thing I'd say that was a turn off, was my son was eating a piece of peperoni pizza and had a gray chicken bone stuck to his pizza. I'm not sure how it got there but it was nasty. I understand covid guildelines but to stop serving HALF the food (the good food) is ridiculous! And not to mention the workers all wearing gloves and not changing them between customers and touching every surface is disgusting. People cut in the lines and shortage of workers to help customers. We ate Dinner at the Golden Corral in Houma Louisiana 10-1-2019. We got there 5 mins after the buffet open, they had several of the food that was cold, even some of the food that was being put out was cold. We brought it to the waitress attentions. We should have talked to manager. The cost for two seniors was $33. You pay extra for stake which is not worth getting. If you want steak go to a steak house where you'll get a better quality of meat. read more

If I can five negative stars I would. The manager at The Golden Corral located in Houma off of MLK was rude to my mom who is 72 years old last night . My mom was about serve herself some ribs because no employee was at the grill to serve her. Well the manager was shadowing her and told her not to do that. The when she requested a rib with less barbecue sauce from the Golden Corral server the Manager continue to Shadow/Strong arm her by saying that is what is on the ribs and nothing could be done.
