Golden Crest Painting is the real deal! I called several painting companies for a bid and Mike was the only one to call back interested in the job I wanted done. Mike set up an appointment and actually showed up on time, courteous and professional. He gave me a very accurate timeline of when the job could start and a prompt estimate for the job. The morning of the job, Mike didn't just send his crew over to start but he showed up himself to help direct and reiterate our needs and specifications to his team. The professionalism and courteousness did not stop when Mike took off. Vincent, Mike's foreman had the guys working right away. We are a "no shoe" house and they did not give us the usual irritated look but happily and every time wore the booties when coming in the house. We added a bit of work on their plate too and were happy to do it. The job was a bit more challenging than expected but Mike kept his word and did not budge on his bid. I take a lot of pride in my own business of providing exceptional customer service and it find it very rare to ever come across it nowadays, but Mike runs a great business with integrity and excellent customer service. I would give 0 stars if possible. We had an estimate scheduled and I drove across town to meet them at the house. The appointment was for 3pm, I had not heard anything from them until I text them at 3:10pm when I asked if they had an ETA as I had other appointments to get to. They didn't respond until 3:20 saying they could not find my house and to resend the address. A few minutes later they text saying they were there, except they were not there. No response until 10 minutes later when I called them asking where they were because no one was at our house still. The man seemed very confused and unprofessional. Around 3:50 he calls me back and says that the people were there and if I could let them in. I told him I was standing on the front porch and that no one was there. Again he was stuttering and did not know what was going on or what to say. So, I let him know to not worry about it and that we would not be doing business with them. It was almost an hour after our scheduled time and no one showed up and the man was very unprofessional the whole time. It almost makes me think it's not a real company. I used Golden Crest Painting just recently to paint my home in Redding. I am the owner, but am currently renting out the house. On top of that, I live out of the area. The service I received was prompt and professional. The owner, Mike, was able to come out and give me an estimate( on short notice) while I was in the area. I have hardwood floors and LOTS of windows so I was concerned with detail. I got what I felt as a reasonable estimate and they did a great job. In fact, they went over and beyond the call of duty. Due to some glitches( left behind by my previous tenant) the crew had to wait to get started by 4 days. Vince the foreman was very professional and went the extra mile so the work could be started and finished in time. The trim looked awesome. They took so much care covering my floors too! Vince sent me photo's of the finished product and it looks great! I should also mention that I used to be married to a painting contractor so I know good work when I see it. Well, after hiring Mike and his crew to paint our home, I am now giving them a 5 Star Rating. I left them the keys to our home for a week and and my wife and I got out of their way. We returned a week later to meet with owner Mike and inspect our home. They had done a great job. It was a rather extensive project having to remove old wall paper, clean off old wall paper glue, and then texture the walls and finally paint. They had covered all carpeting and furniture and other than the fresh new look, you would never know anyone had been there let alone tear the house apart and put it back together. Vince, the foreman on the job, and his apprentice, also did a fabulous job on the exterior of our house. They made several repairs to shoddy work done by previous contractors and made it all right Mike had put us at ease about entrusting our home to him and his crew and we weren't disappointed. We needed the exterior of our house painted after 20+ years. I had always done my own painting and consider myself to be pretty picky when it comes to painters and contractors in general. There are lots of flakes out there that don't return calls and sometimes never show up. I got several bids, Mike wasn't the lowest but his presentation and professionalism won me over. I know what it's like to go with the low bidder; it can be a nightmare. I was not disappointed. Always on time, the crew that came to my house was hard working, polite, clean and just plain fun to be around. I felt comfortable having them in and around my house.
