Hometown Roofing - Beautiful new roof and spotless yard!

A neighbor only 2 houses away from my house was having his roof redone by Hometown Home…read moreImprovements and Tom the owner stopped by my house noticing that my roof was showing age. I am usually very reluctant to talk to anyone that rings my doorbell to sell me something but Tom seemed very nice. Also, I could actually see the work they were doing on my neighbor's house so I decided to hear him out. I've been considering replacing the 28 year old roof for years, since I had started to see shingle damage during storms, but just kept putting it off another year at a time. Tom was a super nice person and didn't in any way pressure me into a sale. He showed me what they were doing to my neighbors roof and I asked him for a quote. Very happy with Tom's offer I agreed to the job. One difference between Hometown Home Improvements offer and other roofers is that Tom didn't ask for any money until the job was complete and I was satisfied. None of the other estimates I had gotten from other roofing companies offered this. They all wanted money before they started. The next day a crew showed up at 8am sharp, stripped the old roof off and reshingled it in one day. New gutters were on by the end of the day and the job was complete by the second morning. Tom also rerouted my back downspout to the front of the house, which is a huge improvement since I had excessive build up of water from the downspout coming off the back of the house into my back yard. His workers were extremely professional and hard working. They tented the back and front of the house and not a single bush had any damage to it. When they finished you would never have known workers were in my yard, it was spotless. The new roof is beautiful and it was the best decision to go with Tom and Hometown Home Improvement for the job. If you need a new roof and you want a company that stands by their promise and does excellent work go with Hometown Home Improvement. You will be very happy you did. Thank you Tom and George! A job well done!! Tim J

The first heavy storm after our roof replacement happened sooner than I would have preferred, but…read moreit ended up being a good test. The new roof handled it without any water entering the building. Before replacement, the surface had blisters, cracked seams, and several areas that held water. We reviewed repair and replacement options, and the condition of the insulation made replacement the more sensible choice. The old layers were removed down to the wood deck. Most of the wood was sound, although several boards near the front parapet needed to be replaced. A self-adhered modified-bitumen system was installed over new insulation and a cover board. The chimney flashing, plumbing vents, and roof hatch were all completed individually. Additional taper was used near the rear drain to improve water flow. The Royal Renovators Inc. crew protected the front planting area and used the rear access for debris. We found a few scraps of membrane near the neighboring fence after completion, but they returned and picked them up the next morning. The final documents included photos, material information, and the written warranty. Months later, the roof is still draining well and the interior stains have not returned.

The roof on one my buildings had reached the point where the frequency of repairs were becoming…read more.. exponentially more frequent. So, it was time -- full roof replacement. Since the building is both commercial and residiential, one of the biggest concerns was minimizing disruption to tenants, and of course keeping everything on budget and organized. From the start, Royal Renovators seemed to understand these concerns and put together a plan that worked around the building's daily operations. The existing roof was removed, damaged areas were addressed/fized, and a new roofing system was installed along with snazzy updated flashing and drainage improvements. Communication throughout the project was - chefs kiss - and we always knew what stage things were in. As expected, there were additional conditions unconvered that needed to be addressed. But, these guys were transparent about it, laid out the options like they did before, and it didnt turn into pressure or surprises. What stood out was how transparent they were when additional conditions were uncovered. Every decision was discussed beforehand and documented with photos. In the end, the new roof was completed on time, and is performing exactly as expected.

They are large enough for office staff, sales teams, work teams and site supervisors. If I had a smaller job in mind that might not have mattered to me but when I do a large job I like a company with support staff. (For me, two talented guys in a van and a wife who answers the phone is just fine for most work). I can attest they do upsell but I had no work done I did not need. I had made an effort to research roofing and gutter materials beforehand. I strongly advise interviewing other roofing/ gutter companies first and asking questions about installation and what *exact* materials they will use. Dior will send out a salesperson who will review the work you want done and the materials they will use. I was offered a discounted price for making my decision the same day and would not have felt comfortable accepting that discount if I had not spoken to several other vendors first. I don't like to make that kind of decision under pressure. I had looked at Dior because my usual preferred vendor would not install any shingles to replace those that might break when they removed them to install flashing up the sides where different roofline levels met. Dior will work with siding shingles as well as other siding. My site supervisor came each day, reviewed the job when it was done and sent a crew back for a minor adjustment. My only complaint was with the container company that drove over my lawn and sidewalk, cracking the blue stone sidewalk and leaving a tire impression in the lawn.

They also broke my slider screen door on the deck so badly I had to replace it. They've been giving me the run around since it was done (4 years ago!!!) and the management company is no better. Owner finally!!! made an appearance promised me the moon and stars by that evening he reneged on his promise. Lies and excuses. What a coward. Other units were damaged as well. Look like we'll have to get legal with this.
