The food is great. The old Western Sizzlin/J Harvys was run down but it has been remodeled now. It's the best Asian food in Moultrie, ga

I've been going to the BBQ pit since i was very young, and their food has always been amazing! the…read moreservice can be a bit busy sometimes but the waitresses and cashiers are so nice! inside of the restaurant is so cozy!

My first time ever being in the city of Moultrie GA attending our family reunion. Looking for a…read morespot to eat some dinner and I had multiple "picky" personalities. Made the Executive decision to come to BP and super glad I did. The initial welcome greeting was very warming, love that Southern experience...The menu was big enough to where I felt everyone would like or want to try something and that it was. The ambiance here is literally a flash from the past, literally a calendar in the wall that had January 1924. That should give you a good idea lol, felt like walking into the past of this decade. Our waitress actually mentioned she'd been working there since 14 which just shows how long this place has been in business. The locals must like it too, had a steady pace of customers in and out. They have this cool little takeout window as well. My picky Mom ordered the Talapia and Seafood dinner with a side salad. My neice got the chicken strips and onion rings with a few sides. I'm a catfish kinda dude so went with the Catfish dinner. I was curious about the Brunswick Stew Pint which is like a tomato based soup with pulled chicken and beef. Everything was cooked very well, nice and crispy. I also had the potato salad which was ok, no digs it was good I'm just use to a bit more flavor but overall really good. I would still recommend. I'm curious how the rest of the menu is, it's a BBQ spot so I would love to come back and try some BBQ chicken and Beef. They also had Turkey so throw some of that on the want list too lol. Our waitress who had been there a while was super cool. Although it seemed like she had drank 2 cups of coffee, she was on it. Kept drinks filled and attended to my picky family who unfortunately can't make up their minds but she was patient so thank her for that. Oh yeah! Go Pack Go!! I'm a Green Bay Packers fan so this local college team (I believe lol) gets all of my fandom and support. Go Pack Go!

Now that's some good eating right there, I tell ya. Simple southern cooking like mamas, grandmas,…read moreaunts and all kinds of kinfolk and friends put on the table and we dig into with gusto. Fried chicken was that simple salt/pepper, flour and fry chicken. Nice crust and tasty moist meat. Macaroni and cheese was about as close to the way my mother used to make it and I enjoyed every bite. A little creaminess with chunks of melted cheddar mixed in. My only complaint would be that the cheese on top was not browned enough for my personal taste. The black eyed peas had onion in them so my wife had to work around the onion but I enjoyed that onion flavor. The peach cobbler was the good stuff and my wife even had some and really enjoyed it. That qualifies as high praise from the picky eater. Now we have to talk about their thin delicate "cornbread". It's so thin it will break into pieces when you pick it up. I suspect this was developed by someone who's favorite part of cornbread is the crusty edges. For those who agree, this paper thin delicacy will be addictive. I know I had plenty and had to resist going back for more. The outside and inside are pretty simple. It is a buffet with multiple meat, vegetable and dessert choices. The service was good. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. The price is good for the delicious food. We will be stopping here pretty regularly now for lunch when we are running up and down US 19. So glad we found them.

I got a good chuckle out of it and sent the photo of the receipt to my wife telling her that these fu..ers gave me the senior citizen discount and I didn't even ask for it. All joking aside, I was very impressed with my experience here. The food wasn't all that great but for that price... I am on the keto diet so I got a huge plate from the salad bar, which was very impressive. My second plate was filled with plain vegetables such as asparagus, broccoli, cauliflower, brussel sprouts and some other non-starchy vegetable which I can't remember right now. My third plate was a huge piece of medium rare sirloin that was pretty darn good. I was probably the only one in the restaurant that skipped the dessert that night. I travel a lot and we'll start seeking out Golden Corrals and hope they are as good as this one. Funny thing, the next day, I was sitting in the lobby of the microtel next door and one of the guests was raving to the front desk of how impressed he was about the Golden Corral, so I had to stay up and give my positive input as well.
