Probably the most flavorful meal I had on my trip to Switzerland. They were friendly and got us seated without a reservation quite quickly. We would've gone back again, but it is a bit pricey. I was shocked to find an Indian restaurant in Wengen, right down the street from our hotel. The curries here are good but please note they only offer rice and no naan, roti, etc. to eat with the curry! They have both outdoor and indoor seating. We came for dinner Monday night around 7 pm, right after the sun set, so we chose to sit inside where it was nice and warm. It's a small restaurant inside with only a couple tables and a small, mostly open kitchen. When we came, there was only one chef and one server, so definitely a very small operation. We shared two curries plus rice: chicken curry ($28.50) and dal tadka ($22.50). The chicken curry was tangy and delicious, but sadly the server messed up the dal and gave us us a different lentil dish (dal makhni) instead. Neither of us like dal makhni that much, but since it's a small restaurant with only one chef, we decided to eat it instead of letting our server know there was a mistake. It was okay but way too rich for my personal taste. I only ate a couple bites. Unfortunately they only offer basmati rice and no bread (naan, roti, etc.) to eat with the curries. First off, the food is amazing!!! I honestly did not to expect to find Indian food in Wengen, especially amazing Indian food. It was so good that I almost ate here twice. The food was fresh and you could tell that it was made with love by someone who truly loves what he's doing. We ordered the chicken korma, butter chicken, and lamb biryani and nothing disappointed. And pro-tip, dunk any leftover korma into the leftover butter chicken sauce for an amazing explosion of flavor!! This is definitely a must-try in you're in Wengen. read more

Nice restaurant with good service. We got here on a late afternoon and we're seated promptly. We ordered tandoori grilled platter which had some tandoori chicken, malai chicken, 3 prawns, 3 paneer cubes. It came with the sauce that tasted like creamy curry sauce. The platter is was served with plain rice. We also had hot masala chai. Expensive chai for the portion. Prices were a bit steep but a quality restaurant if you are in a mood for Indian food. read more

On vacation in Wengen, and happy that they are open until 9:30! Many places close earlier. We had the Chicken Pakora for an appetizer and it was very tasty. While the restaurant was not shabby or dirty , given the beautiful location it was situated it , very disappointed with the aesthetics of the place. Any other restaurant or service in the area seems to be going above and beyond in the upkeep of the decor and aesthetics . Additionally there were no healthier options for rice- ( brown rice, red rice) . To me - it was very disappointing that there exists an Indian restaurant in one of the most choicest places of Switzerland , but didn't go above and beyond to serve better options with respect to food and better aesthetics!! We stumbled upon this during our stay in Wengen and were very happy we did! We loved how small and cozy this place was and you can see the chef cooking (1 chef, 1 server). We ordered the chicken tikka masala and chicken madras and loved them both. My husband preferred my tikka masala because it was so creamy. They come in their own bowls and then a separate bowl of rice also comes with it. We scraped our plates! Would highly recommend this place. We missed the naan but the rice is delicious! read more

You will pay Swiss prices but the food is really excellent. Perfectly cooked meat. Spiced very well. The naan was not worth it because you only got a single piece cut in half, no reason to order it. The curry and biryani were fantastic though. For being in relatively remote Switzerland it is well worth a trip for a little variety from normal Swiss fare (no knock against the traditional Swiss stuff though). read more

Made last minute plans to spend weekend in wengen and didn't make reservations. Golden India did takeout so we gave it a try...we can always enjoy some Indian food. My wife got the Aloo Paneer and I ordered Palak Paneer. They were both delicious. The only issue was that we ordered garlic naan to go with our paneer and it was a piece of pita bread with no flavor. At the price point you pay on the mountain, do yourself a favor and do not order naan here. Total price for everything including rice was 50 Franc(About 50 Euro or $60). read more
