Yelp Review 2026 #120: Still not in the mood to eat Swiss food again, I saw this highly rated restaurant on two review sites. It's a 10-minute walk from my hotel. There's no tram or train that will take you here. I'm following directions from Google Maps and it was taking me to a trailer park. It doesn't matter which country you visit - a trailer park is a trailer park - it's the same crowd of people. Am I lost? Should I turn around and go somewhere else? I finally found the restaurant. It's a small restaurant but you can sit outside for more tables if you feel claustrophobic. The staff is very welcoming. The menu has all the Indian food classics. I went with my go-to dishes. CHICKEN MASALA: Chicken chunks simmered in creamy tomato and chopped onion sauce until tender, garnished with coriander. 4/5 BUTTER CHICKEN (HOUSE SPECIALTY): Cooked chicken tikka simmered in rich and creamy tomato sauce, perfumed with butter and fenugreek. 4/5 GARLIC NAAN: Warm naan schmeared with ghee and fresh garlic paste. 4/5 MANGO LASSI: Mildly tart, creamy mango drink that helps tone down the spiciness of Indian food. 4/5 The food was ok. But the best part was the service. After our meal, they offered to take us back to our hotel using their shuttle. read more

It's a 10minute walk from harder Klum side . Food was fresh and delicious. Mattar paneer, garlic naan and samosa was good. Service was friendly and quick. If you are craving Desi food in interlaken would definitely recommend this place read more

My wife and I ate here on a Tuesday evening and it was fantastic. Not a ton of ambiance but the family was incredibly nice, very attentive in their service and the food was off the charts good. Highly recommend the Lamb Vindaloo and Butter Chicken. I'm Celiac and need gluten-free options. Everything is gluten-free accept the Naan bread. We also had the Malabar Fish Curry and it was just ok to our taste because it was more on the peppery side. They make everything fresh once you've ordered and can customize to what you prefer taste wise. Highly highly recommend! read more

I absolutely loved this little restaurant! There were tons of options for Indian food in Interlaken but i decided to try this one as my fellow yelpers said that this place is awesome and they were right! This place has the most authentic indian food. We ordered roti with aloo mutter, yellow dal tadka and rice. Everything was so delicious. Service was really good. The place is owned by a small Punjabi family. They also have free parking. read more

I've been to restaurants with good food and to restaurants with good service, and if I'm lucky ones with both. This restraunt not only had great food, but easily set a new standard for the best service I've ever received. The menu had the standard classics and a good variety of dishes that aren't as common in the Indian restaurants I frequent back home in the US. With plenty to pick from, most of my family was able to quickly find something that they were craving. And when one member of our party had a hard time deciding, the waitress really took her time in helping them to find a dish that not only spoke to them, but also complimented the rest of the ordered dishes perfectly. She was also well-informed and conscientious in meeting the gluten-free needs of another member of our party. Each dish turned out fantastic, I particularly loved the Paneer Lababdar. We had walked a decent bit off the beaten path to get there, but by the end of the meal I was certain the trip had been more than worth it. Then, to put the cherry on top of an already solid experience, when the owner heard us mention we were planning to walk back to the train station, he offered to give us a ride. At this point, expectations had been well exceeded, but our host took it a step further and dropped us off at our hostel itself. Other restaurants I visit, regardless of city, will be hard-pressed to top the level of hospitality I experienced at India Villiage. I just wish I lived closer so I could visit with the frequency this establishment deserves. read more

We had an excellent meal at India Village. My wife had the Aloo Gobhi and I had the Channa Masala. Both were very good and the spice level was mild as we had requested. Our waiter was very pleasant and we learned from speaking with him that he was interning there and is studying hospitality management. We ate outside and the weather was cool but not cold, so we enjoyed the atmosphere. It is a little difficult to find. You are supposed to follow a path along the water, but we didn't and ended up walking through a campground. We almost gave up but then found it and we are glad we did. If you find yourself wandering in the campground, just keep going...it's worth it. The owners were nice enough to offer us a ride back to our hotel which we appreciated after getting a little lost on the way there. Highly recommend this restaurant. read more

If you are visiting Interlaken you must try India Village! Everything was amazing. Service was outstanding (which is saying something because we brought our very curious 3 year old). The food was delicious, we had the butter chicken and chicken masala, both were excellent. It is a bit off the beaten path but well worth it, much better than some of the other places we tried directly on the Main Street. read more

We stayed one night in Interlaken. We took a pleasant walk along the river to India Village. Food was wonderful. We had the chicken curry and butter chicken along with appetizers. Best samosas I've ever had. The staff were informative and friendly. Even offered to drive us back to our hotel as it was after dark! The river walk was lighted with lots of people so no problem. HANDS ON the best experience I have ever had. The staff and service was on point. Food was so so yummy. The owner who is also the chef is honestly the kindest soul. We got to chat with him and learn a bit about his journey and struggles to get where he is today and it's truly inspiring. BEST INDIAN IVE EVER HAD. Couldnt even take a picture because we ate it so fast. Buttered chicken was outstanding. Malabar fish was excellent. After a cold and rainy day in Interlaken, we decided to go for an Indian meal with our family - we chose it based off the high reviews and it definitely didn't disappoint. By far the best meal we've had during our stay. Every dish was seasoned well and executed perfectly. After the meal, we were chatting with a member of the restaurant staff who then offered to drive us back to our hotel as the walk was quite far. I was travelling with my parents to Switzerland and on their 7th consequtive day in Switzerland they were definitely craving Indian food. We found this place based on a simple Google search and decided to go here since it had atleast some reviews. To my surprise, this turned out to be a big hit. Honestly, it's not the best indian food I have had but it was pretty good for a option available in Interlarken. We ordered the basic butter chicken, dal tadka and chapati. Everything was delicous. This is a decent restaurant for Indian food at 15 mins walk from interlaken OST station. We ordered butter chicken, tadka dal and palak paneer and the portion sizes were pretty good. The service was good and the restaurant was clean. I was a bit skeptical based on other reviews but the place was nice and clean. The walk from interlaken ost is a bit taxing as there is no shoulder on the road for a small stretch. read more

This is the best Indian food I have ever eaten!! I would come back to visit Interlaken just to come here again. My boyfriend and I ordered their house special, butter chicken, with garlic naan. It was the perfect amount of food for the two of us and just indescribably good. Also, we had a short wait time for food and the service was incredible -- one of the employees even offered to drive us back to where we were staying to keep us out of the cold. Was in Interlaken for a day from the SF Bay Area, which is saturated with good Indian food, and to be honest, I wasn't expecting much. I have never been happier to be wrong. This restaurant was on par with the best Indian food I've ever had. The mango lassis were amazing, as was the mint tea and the pakoras. You simply must try the butter chicken and the Daal Makhani. Would give it 6 stars if I could - more than worth the walk and the staff was nothing but kind and accommodating for 5 teenage boys. read more

We picked this restaurant based on Yelp reviews. It's a little out of the way but easily accessible, close to Harder Kulm. My wife and I ordered paratha, basmati rice, chicken tikka marsala, and vegetable curry. All of the food was great. Quite reasonably priced. They knew we had a train to catch, so they offered to give us a ride back to the train station - door to door service. I highly recommend this place. Very personable, they were genuinely interested that we liked the food. If I wasn't just a tourist I would go there on a regular basis. At one point during my meal at India Village today I looked up at the mountains and saw myself surrounded by the majestic Himalayas. When I pointed this out to my fellow eaters, they looked at me as if I had gone mad. In fact, I had not. The fragrant spices and delicate flavors of the biryani, rotis, and curries had overwhelmed my sense of location and transported me back to the motherland. A refreshing sip of my mango lassi mellowed my mind and allowed me to come back to the Alps, and some would say reality itself. This is all to say that India Village has great food, and even better service. You won't be disappointed, and if you're anything like me you may end up with a free trip to South Asia. read more

We were staying in Lauterbrunnen and came to Interlaken to try this place so you can Imagine our love for Indian food. And we were not disappointed. Amazing Indian food. We had the paneer lababdar and lachcha paratha. They charged us for onions which is not typical at Indian places. But anywayy the taste beats everything. Service was little slow but I can work with that if food tastes great which it did. Recommed to every Indian visiting Interlaken. read more

Food was ok but they need to work on cleaning up the place. We got swarmed with flies during lunch (and we were sitting inside). I don't like taking off a star because of that but it's hard to eat with a constant buzzing and bugs landing on your food. Other than that, the food tasted good but they should give more chicken in their entrees.
