All Golden Krusts are not created equal. This one in Morrow, Georgia, is top notch. Mondays is my favorite day because they have chicken soup, but beware, they generally don't have any left after lunchtime. For a while, they didn't have any veggie patties that they're back now, and they taste great. Their ginger drinks are fresh and tasty. Note that they charge a 3% fee for credit cards. read more

Golden Krust 1267 South Hairston Road I had a very disappointing experience at Golden Krust 1267 South Harston Road, Stone Mountain GA. I ordered Stew Peas and Rice, only to realize it was overnight food-not fresh at all. Before ordering, I politely asked the server if the food was fresh, and instead of a simple answer, she responded with a rude and dismissive attitude. Her customer service was absolutely unacceptable and made the experience worse. If I'm spending my money I expect both quality food and decent service, but this location failed on both fronts. Serving old food and having rude employees is a bad combination. I wont be returning anytime soon. read more

I went to order some food my elderly mother. She was telling the person on the intercom what she wanted. The person didn't hear what she said, so I was repeating what she ordered. The lady on the intercom told me that I had NO RIGHT to yell at her. I explained to her that I only spoke up because she was not getting the order correctly. I apologized her but she didn't respond. Unfortunately, i drove off without ordering. My mother was NOT happy. I tried to give this business a chance, but its not working out. Now you have two unhappy customers. Food was pretty good. We ordered a veggie plate specially made since they didn't actually have one on the menu. Be prepared to wait in in line though short they move as slow as molasses in there. The service needs improvement. A proper greeting, hello, good day, welcome would have been appreciated but they all seem tired of being there. Ambience is that of average ayote front restaurant. Came here after watching a YouTubers review, and quite pleased! My fiancé got the stew chicken and he loved it! There was not shards of bone (a pet peeve) and seasoning was very delicious I had the jerk chicken and a few pieces of chicken tasted dry, however the seasoning was still on point! We also had the mild and spicy beef Patty. The mild was very good, I would give that a 8/10. And the spicy I would give a 7/10, I was expecting more spice. The spice creeps up on you but it's the bare minimum of spice. Still good though. We will be back to try the goat! read more

Shame on me for not giving them a review the first two times! Third times a charm right? :) First off the spot is clean, and I'm a sucker for a good health score and cleanliness! Anyway, the menu is plastered on the wall soon as you walk in so it's not like you can miss it. They ask what you want, of course I always choose the curried chicken combo, large. It comes with rice and beans, cabbage, plantains, and of course your meat of choice. I believe you can substitute the cabbage for something else. The large portions are more like EXTRA LARGE and worth the dollar amount. I always add either coco bread or a patty, but, they offer a free patty upon a yelp check-in or if you like them on Facebook. Second, as I mentioned before, they are a bit pricey, but well worth the money spent. I've heard mixed reviews about this franchise but, I don't have any negative experiences, so in my eyes they deserve nothing less than 5 stars. Hope this review helps! ;) read more

Love Love Golden Krust brand bakery items and food as I've tried them in several different states. Nothing like the flaky crust with each bite of a pattie. The soft buttery coco bread wrapped around a pattie that compliments each other with every bite. Wash both down with a carrot juice or sorrel ginger drink. Finish off the meal with a slice of black cake. A few of my Golden Krust favorite foods I always get. Landed in Atlanta, look up, and found this one close by. Excited as always to order these and try out a few other well liked items. Sad to say I was disappointed in ALL of them. Not sure what happened to the Golden Krust brand here. There pattie did not have that flaky crust or tasty beef inside. Carrot juice was wayyyyyyy to sweet and not flavorful. Good thing I asked for a sample first. The Black cake also was sugary sweet and completing missing the "Jamaican cake" flavor. I literally took two bites and had to throw away the rest. Yuck!!! There fry dumpling is too hard. Had to admit I was shocked that everything I tried was this bad especially considering it's a chain brand so things are typically fairly consistent. Included in all that there service is very slow. Sad to say I will not be returning here. Hopefully, I'll find a much better one in another area. read more

The food at this location is very good. The prices have gone up but the portions are good. As a woman whose mom was Jamaican and whose dad was an American man from the south I was raised by great cooks. So, I need to say, please, y'all stop putting ginger in your Collard Greens. Please! I wanted some extra veggies and I ordered some. First of all, they were so salty they were inedible, but then I tasted ginger and was like no! Collards is not a Jamaican dish. Just leave them alone. This place feels like home. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. As soon as we walked in we were greeted and made to feel right at home! The variety in the menu is awesome and the food is even better. I got the stewed chicken with rice, plantains, sweet yams, and a shrimp patty. All were AMAZING! You can get co co bread with your patty and that adds a very good flavor to the overall patty. The chicken I got was alittle spicy but perfect! Well, for the second time I was disappointed. The first time I ordered curry goat and it was blah. This trip I ordered the oxtails. Let's say the oxtails were salty and not tender enough. The taste is not authentic nor taste like grandmas. I won't be back again. I refer this place to people who aren't keen on Jamaican seasoning but drink plenty of water, salt kills. Always enjoy shopping at this restaurant. Thus, on Saturday 11 I went there with the intention to buy some ackee and cod fish with fried dumplings. I was most disappointed. I was the 2nd customer in the line when they opened the store. The first customer bought 3 ackee breakfast and by the time I ordered my ackee, the server had to scraped the container to serve me. Good food and good customer service. I had the brown stew chicken lunch special and some beef patties. I like that they have spicy beef and mild beef and label their bags so you don't have to guess which one is which flavor. My food was nice and fresh and the lunch special had me feeling satisfied. I was tempted to try the oxtails, but maybe next time. Tee was very polite and knowledgeable about the different choices. I'll be back when in the area. Originally I started out giving this place a 5 Star. I have been here no less than 8 times in one month. So I really do enjoy the food. I think for a franchise, this place is very consistent with the food that it serves. I have not had anything that I did not enjoy. I don't think you will go wrong here, if you keep in mind that this is not "Home made" Trini or Jamaican food. But if you want a taste of the Caribbean without hoping on a plane or cruise ship, then this is not a bad place to come. My fav has been the Ox Tails, Goat and then Jerk Chicken. I'd give them all 5 Stars. Then I like the Curry Chicken and Stewed Chicken as well. 4 Star for those. The Chicken and Beef patty are okay. I thought the Spicy Chicken Patty was too spicy for me. These patties have a thicker dough than I am used too, but still had a good taste. I love the Spinach Rice and then the Rice and Peas were next in line for me. The Fried Plantains, although small and only 1 per plate, are actually very good and sweet! I dropped the location down from a 5 Star to a 4 Star mainly because they have already started giving out smaller portions by the week. I usually get the Dinner Oxtail plate. The Oxtails are very small, so I am not happy when I get my plate and it is not full of Oxtails. I don't want more gravy than meat. And I think that if you are going to serve small pieces of meat, then you should at least give a generous portion of it to make up for the small pieces for $16. I like the fact that the servers are extremely nice and patient. The first week that they opened they allowed you to sample items that you wanted to "Try". I do not like the cashier area. It get's confusing as to whom will take your money and which plate belongs to you. Try it. I promise you'll find something that you will enjoy here! read more

AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE!! I placed an order ON THEIR WEBSITE with a pickup time of 5:30 PM. Get there at 6:45 and was RUDELY told the woman who prepares the orders "was not told" about my order!!! What kind of business does not check their website for orders and has to be TOLD there is an order?? She said she got there at 3 and no one told her!! Then she says it will take 30 minutes! Hell no I want a refund. She had the nerve to tell me to get a refund from the website!!! IT'S YOUR WEBSITE!!!! The incompetence in this place is ridiculous!! And she had the nerve to have a STANK attitude. Golden crust is usually good Caribbean food, but this location has a cook who is heavy handed with the salty spicy seasoning. I ordered curried chicken with rice and cabbage- oh so heavy with pepper, salt, etc., way over the Top! For my taste, I couldn't enjoy the meal for that. The curried chicken and gravy sauce over my rice burned inside my mouth, then I tried the cabbage- it was just as spicy and a bit over cooked. Some people like it like that but there needs to be happy medium. I've enjoyed Golden Krust at the Lovejoy location- so much better, seasoned just right, fresh delicious. Why offer a service when you have no idea how to use it. Get rid of it and just stick to having people walk into your establishment.
