The interior was nicely decorated, and I saw from the bar having Wray n Nephew I wasn't going to be disappointed with the food. I'm typing this review before sleep takes over. Everything was delicious and served up promptly, but in the time it takes good food to be ready. It was on time with the advised wait time shown before I submitted my order. We ordered for delivery and received our food quickly and packaged well. Everything tasted great and well made. Only con is that we ordered oxtails and it doesn't automatically come with rice. We opted for cabbage and plantains as sides, like most traditional plates, and were surprised that rice wasn't included. First off, the energy and the vibe here was so welcoming and makes you feel good just walking through the door. The relaxing sounds of Jamaican music emanating out of the speakers makes you feel like swaying as you read the menu... The server asked if we found anything we liked. I told her unfortunately...my stomach wasn't big enough to eat everything I saw I wanted to eat! We settled on the curried goat dinner, and the grilled jerk salmon with quinoa. They let you swap out the side dish if you like. Again, so customer-friendly! The goat was pure perfection, tender off the bone and flavorful. The curry mixed with the jasmine rice was simply heaven. The salmon was thick and tender with lots of flavorful. The quinoa was light, fluffy and flavorful. Both portions were enough to fill you up! I saw ginger beer on the menu and found out they home make it here! It has a deep ginger flavor and ohh soo good! We came all the way from Los Angeles and found this gem on the way to see family. The food is really good. I had the Codfish Fritters, Ackee & Saltfish rolls, Quinoa, and fried okra, and banana mudslide for my drink. The only thing that was bland was the okra. The rest knocked it out of the park. My date had the Oxtail meal and she had zero complaints. The ginger beer is divine, and my drink wasn't watered down. The decor is sorely outdated, though, and our initial server was less than cordial. The food made up for it to an extent. Foodwise, I most certainly recommend this place. read more

I was wanting some Jamaican food after I left the mall the other day. I searched for some close by, and Spicy Hill was number 2 on the list. It was a lil bit further than I wanted, but I continued. It's a very nice restaurant. The decor is very welcoming...screams JAMAICA!! The only thing that I didn't like was the health score...80! That's normally too low for me, but since I was already there and didn't see it until I was about to order, I decided to give it a shot. I ordered the Jerk chicken pasta. I had a choice to get it "insane", so that's what I chose, since I LOVE spicy food. I will say, it wasn't insane at all!! It was a little spicy, but when I hear "insane" I need my forehead, and nose to sweat, and my nose to run! Yep, I said it! If it ain't hot, and it says it's supposed to be...it makes me mad! I will say at the time of day (around 3:30ish) I was there, it was literally a ghost town! I was the only person there, and as I was ordering someone else came to pick-up an order. The waitress was very friendly and whom I assume was the manager (she was sitting in the dining room) was also very friendly. She was who suggested I order insane since she heard me asking if was really hot. We talked and laughed about it. She also told me about the part of Jamaica she was from since I asked and told her we are planning a trip there next yr. The only reason it gets 3 stars is b/c of the health score. This is a very quaint restaurant located next to/in the gas station, don't let that deter you from going and eating there. The restaurant is very clean and comfortable. The service was good and the food delicious. The codfish fritters was a 4/10 I could barely taste codfish, the oxtail tostones 10/10, drinks 8/10 and food 10/10. The oxtails were tender & falling off the bones. The Rum Punch is Authentic & the best Ive had in Georgia, especially with it being made with Wrey & Nephews you can taste the fruit flavors & trust me the Rum will sneak up on you & they give you a generous size portion. We sat at thr bar which made the experience much more enjoyable. The restaurant has a nice ambiance and was not packed, around 8pm they had a dj spinning music. The salty jerk sauce complement the fresh vegetables which Is very good. And the bartender is amazing with the drinks and her bubbly customer service is asset to the business.
