I found Tara on a living social site to get eyelashes. I looked at their website and decided just to book an appointment through Golden Looks Salon. The strip mall it's in is a little outdated so I was a little worried but I looked inside and it was beautiful and clean! (I myself am a licensed cosmetologist so this is very important to me). I prepaid $100 for bridal hair and makeup including a makeup consultation.   We had scheduled the consultation appointment 2 weeks in advance.  When I arrived for my appointment they stood me up! The doors were locked, lights out, and a closed sign on the door. So I was a little nervous about this place, but I rescheduled anyway.  After my consultation finally did happen, I wasn't happy with the results and asked them for the deposit for the bridal hair and makeup back (minus the consultation cost, which is reasonable). After many days of back and forth, the owner finally gave me a partial refund for the services that were never rendered. That's not exactly fair, but I cut my losses. read more

This is probably my worst experience with eyelashes extension ever. I got the eyelash extension done twice. I came the first time to try to support this local business. She did an ok job the first time. Some eyelashes were glued together but she did spent an hour time . After I came the second time over (3 weeks have passed) the sheet on the bed was the same with the same black dirt spot in the middle of the sheet. Btw if you see synthetic sheet with a black pattern..... Run away!!! This red flag could not be more obvious, but I chose to ignore it. Second red flag. She does an eyelashes in the same room than the other lady does hear, separated with half wall (wall does not reach to the ceiling). So when person is getting a hear done and talking loud.... Yes you will hear it all. I was there when a 2 year old was crying for the whole time I was there. Really relaxing I know. After only two day eyelashes started falling out. I find out she put like 4-6 fake eyelashes to my natural eyelash so it actually pulled my eyelashes out because was too heavy. When I called her after 3 days and told her I have a huge gab and my own eyelashes are being pulled out to which she reapplied I did not take good care of them. What???? After only third day? I did not go to any kind of steam, in these 3 days as my usuall routine is I cleand my face with a washcloth. But despite that half my eyelashes already fall off? Well I am writing this becouse I want to save you lady's a headache and a hassle. Whatever you do, do not let her touch your eyelashes. She will not do a good job and further more she will damage your own eyelashes. read more

It's so bad. I just left getting the lashes off placed by the owner of this salon & the girl told me in all her 7 years of lashing she had never seen anything like what this place did to me. We're not sure what the glue was but it made my eyes burn like fire. It was tacky & pulled apart like hot cheese That's not even the worse part I came here last min to get ready for a pool party. Naaz the owner fit me in & I was super excited. I asked for a root touch up & lash fill. She talked me into all over color which I'll add a pic of. My hair girl said it looks like she ran out of hair dye in the back, I have a huge spot of discoloration & the worst part. She talked me into a cut that she claimed I needed. My usual hair girl said I didn't. She took off 7 inches of my hair in what was supposed to be a trim. I had beautiful healthy hair. There was no reason on earth to chop it off & it was so uneven. I still don't understand why. I had 29 inch hair & left w the shortest cut being 22 & I say shortest bc it was sooooo uneven. Then she tried to tell me it was already uneven when I complained. EDIT: This lady is really nice and always tries to squeeze me in even when she already has a full schedule. However, I noticed after the initial set I purchased on Groupon, the fills got gradually worse after that. To the point where I told her I was going on vacation in a week and my eyelashes started falling out in huge clumps before that (LASTED LESS THAN A WEEK). My friend "upgraded" from the one offered on Groupon and paid $90 for individuals and as they came out, we saw that most of them were actually big clusters. Feels like once they have you hooked or you help reel in more business for them, they treat you like crap. I tipped 20% + most of the time too... not sure why she would act this way. read more

Red flag when lash extensions take a little more than half an hour. The fill was done sitting up...another red flag. Things seemed ok at first although lashes didn't look as natural as I would have liked. Trouble came when a fill was needed. My lashes were sparse and short already. Then putting bunches of lashes (Some were dishonestly clusters even though I paid the more expensive price) damaged them more, especially because glue was put on my lid instead of only on lashes. Extensions started coming out 2 or 3 days after the first fill and I was charged for a re-fill! Also, eyes then ended up glamour when I did not ask for it. I should never have paid for that re-fill. The very next morning one eye lid had a huge stuck together clump! Clump became loose and came off. When contacting the manager she said it was my fault for sleeping on my side and suggested a re-do with no mention it would be free of charge. Obviously I did not go back!! The removal took almost an hour and a half from excessive glue and being stuck to my skin. Many more of my own lashes came off even with the most careful removal. Now I have to use serum for weeks of any hope of recovery and chance for more extensions. My lashes may not have been strong enough beforehand but a professional should have let me know that. But that would not have been financially lucrative for Golden Looks. The technician who removed the extensions did not charge me one cent! I will definitely go to her once my lashes are strong enough. read more

I've gotten both natural & glamorous cluster lashes done by Terra a few times & they always come out beautiful. I love waking up in the morning & looking ready to go with just a few touches, especially if I have special occasions planned or traveling. She's very accommodating, knows how to do pretty much everything in regards to beauty & works quickly. I had a groupon for eyelash extensions that I decided to utilize for an upcoming family photo session. I've never had this type of pampering done, but I figured it'd be easier than trying to glue lashes on at 8 in the morning, which I'm terrible at doing. Anyway, I ended up picking out the knotted ones (?) that were thicker and more obvious so that I didn't have to wear mascara and would show on camera. The service here is great and she explains the process of how she puts on the lashes and provides a little fan for comfort as the glue dries. I even got my eyebrows done out of convenience and she did a great job at that too! Overall, I had a really great experience at the salon and will for sure be going back! read more

I just got my lashes done. While I was getting them done she used no protection under my eye and had me try to keep my eye open the entire time. Not only is that dangerous, super uncomfortable but toxic to the eye. Then she said cluster lashes are applied more directly to the eyelid than other kinds of lashes. I started getting freaked out because I have heard applying lashes to the eyelid will damage your skin and make your eyelashes fall out. When I left I felt irritation and discomfort. I could feel HUGE clumps of glue stuck directly to my eyelid. It's now both painful and irritated. You should NEVER apply glue directly to the eyelid itself, it's PAINFUL! I spent hours trying to remove some of the excess glue and I'm still working on safety removing what she did so I don't lose my eyelashes. This has been an AWFUL AWFUL EXPERIENCE. read more

I got the $89 eye lash extensions done a little over a week ago. Terra(Owner) accepted me after walking in. It took about 2 hrs for the eyelashes to be done .I made sure not to wet them but after the 1st day of having the extensions they began to fall off horribly, one by one. She has made me reschedule because another customer was coming 10 minutes from when I arrived, but the lashes only took 10-15 minutes. I went and got my eyelash extensions done on Tuesday and paid 68 dollars for a full set of eyelash extensions by Thursday morning half of them have already fallen out so I called the salon and she asked me what I did wrong to make them fall out and said I could come in for a fill but she would charge me 35 more dollars!
