Highly recommend this awesome restaurant! Food is amazing, delicious, & very scrumptious! Everyone ordered different dishes so we all can taste the different flavors & cuisines. We started with Golden Lotus Pecial Combo with 2 of each: chicken satay with peanut sauce, steamed or fried: chicken, tulip dumplings, fish cakes, samosa, & crab rangoon. It came with homemade spicy chili & sweet chili sauce. Then, we had Thai Tom Yum Soup, it had green & red peppers which I wasn't too crazy about (I hate green/red peppers); it was good. If it didn't have the green/red peppers, it would have been great for me otherwise, my brother loved it. Main course, I tell you, everything looks so delicious that we had a hard time choosing. It took awhile to pick the foods we like, but we narrowed it down to the following dishes: Burmese Crispy Sweet & Sour Fish (so fresh), Hainanese Chicken Rice, Korean Bibimbap, Beef Pad Thai, Sausage Fried Rice, & Burmese Nan Ji Thoke. We did not regret any dishes we ordered! They had a variety of drinks. We drank Thai Iced Teas & Taro Boba Tea. We didn't get to eat dessert because everyone was soooo full! This is a family owned restaurant. The ambiance was nice & cozy. Mom was the chef, Dad was serving, & the kids were helping their parents. Overall, we give Golden Lotus, 10 out of 10. Our belly was full & we were enormously satisfied! Stop by today & experience excellent cooking! So glad we just didn't go to another Chinese/Asian restaurant. Thai Pad Ka Pao: Fairly good. Has egg with yolk intact. Pad See Ew: Good. Has carrots and broccoli if you like that General Tso Chicken: pretty standard. I got with light sauce, but they then really skimped on the sauce. If I ever try again I won't change the sauce. This small little place has been a few things since I moved here. Since my bestie and I have never done an Asian food, I suggested this place so I could scope it out with my boyfriend. Inside the place is decked out in Asian Flair. I ordered the Sausage Fried Rice and a diet Coke. The sodas are in cans so I assume its per drink. The sevice was amazing! Took our order and got food within 10 minutes of ordering. Even with a bigger group here we had a nice time. Price is a little up there depending on what you order. I would recommend this place. Went here for lunch and was so thankful we did- the wait staff is lovely and attentive, the food was DELICIOUS- homemade taste and perfect level of spice. Our new favorite Chinese restaurant!! Great food, great portions. Ordered the hot & sour soup- very good, wonton soup- really good flavor- tasted a bit of sesame oil , got the Szechuan beef combo w/ pork fried rice - beef pretty good. The hunan shrimp was so good! A lot of big tender shrimp w/ tons of fresh veggies; zucchini, mushrooms, carrots, peppers, onions. So flavorful. Also got shrimp eggroll - there were 2 very nice sized shrimp in it. Golden Lotus is by far one of my favorite restaurants OF ALL TIME! No joke, this place is a jewel and we're so lucky it is based out of our local town. Every single dish tastes great! They have THE BEST Drunken Noodles, Beef Salad, Pad Thai, Tom Yum soup, Tofu Soup and Tea Lead Salad that I have ever tried! I've tried several other dishes in their menu and loved every one. Favorites from friends include their Shrimp Spring Roles with their peanut sauce and Hainanese Chicken. You can't beat their prices too - they have THE BEST and most reasonable prices of any restaurant around. The family that owns this restaurant is so sweet too! They have lived in Myanmar (Burma), Thailand, then Indonesia and have moved here bringing dishes to their menu that reflect the countries they've lived in and more spread across Southeast Asia. Their mom has a hand in cooking every single dish, and whatever she does is magic. The daughter runs everything and is most definitely the one greeting you when you walk in. Ask her anything, she can describe everything dish in detail. And they always take preferences and allergies into consideration! Tell them what you like and or can't have and they'll make sure the dishes are made to meet and exceed your expectations. Even with coconut allergies, they will make fresh batches of Tom Yum soup that are normally coconut milk- based. Seriously, don't debate about it. Try them out and see exactly what I mean! p.s. First time at this restaurant. Restaurant was clean. Service was excellent. Ordered the spring roll with shrimp. Spring roll was wrapped tightly and was very fresh. Really liked the homemade peanut sauce. Ordered red curry Thai with chicken. Everything was hot and fresh. Lots of chicken and vegetables. Prices are very reasonable. I'm leaving a second review just because this place is always on point. I have gotten pretty much everything off of the menu, minus a few things, mainly seafood. I am always happy and impressed with food service and quality. This time I got the General tso chicken stir fry, vegetable egg rolls and Crab Rangoon's. Everything was amazing, as usual! I haven't dined in yet but their dinning room looks pretty and is decorated for Christmas, the ambience was perfect. I would've taken pictures but I ate it to quick. But the general tso was not super sweet and syrupy compared to most places, and you can control the spice level. 10/10 would do it more justice then just 5 stars, Enjoy!!! read more
