We ordered two bowls of miso soup, shared vegetable dumplings, and split an order of the tofu drunken noodles, spiced medium. The meal was exceptional. Everything was cooked to order and served hot. The wonton were crispy and the noodle dish was spiced perfectly. And we had leftovers. It feels upscale without being stuffy, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting from the moment you walk in.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We started with the crab rangoons and then ordered five sushi rolls: the Creamy & Crispy Roll, Crunchy Crab Roll, Black Dragon Roll, Hawaii Roll, and the Volcano Roll with spicy tuna. Every single roll was fantastic. Not "some were better than others" fantastic. Not "we found a favorite and tolerated the rest" fantastic. We genuinely loved every roll that came to the table. The Volcano Roll with spicy tuna was my personal favorite and an easy 10/10, but honestly there wasn't a single thing we ordered that we wouldn't get again. The presentation deserves its own mention. The rolls were beautifully plated, complete with gorgeous edible flowers and thoughtful garnishes that made everything look almost too pretty to eat. Service was excellent. The food came out surprisingly quickly, but not all at once. Instead, the rolls arrived in small groups, which actually made the experience even better because we could enjoy each one before the next arrived. For two people, five specialty rolls and crab rangoons came to about $80, which is completely reasonable and honestly pretty standard for quality sushi. We will absolutely be back, and we've already started recommending Hills to Sea to friends and family. If you're a sushi lover in Lancaster County, put this place on your list immediately. read more

My favorite restaurant to get takeout when in the area - if they are super busy make sure to double check your order sometimes they forget something from the order, but they make it right. The crab rangoons are my favorite - delicious crab filling and excellent outside crunch. The vegetable stir fry - add chicken and make it SPICY! The best - of course with a side of white rice. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant was packed when we arrived, and the staff was polite and accommodating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] However, compared to our previous visit, this experience turned out to be just okay. We ordered several dishes to share, but unfortunately the food did not seem as flavorful or fresh as it had been the last time. While the restaurant has great reviews, I feel many people may be going mainly for the sushi, which does seem to be their strong point. The other dishes we tried were not impressive. The red and green curries we ordered were bland and quite lacking in flavor. The chicken in the red curry was especially disappointing, as it was very tough and completely tasteless, almost as if it had been pre-cooked or frozen and then microwaved before being added to the curry. We also requested broccoli in one dish and asked for no cabbage. Although the server wrote it down, yet the dish did not come out that way. We asked for brown rice, and they did not have that either. The mango salad used to come with cashews and all mango, and now it was with peanuts, with a little bit of mango over a lot of lettuce. We also clearly mentioned that one of our guests was vegetarian, yet the server did not thinking to ask us whether we wanted to omit fish sauce from the mango salad. We found out after tasting, that there was fish sauce in it. The service was polite, but I do think the staff could use some more training in anticipating customer basic needs, especially when guests are sharing multiple dishes. We were not given serving spoons or plates, even though it was clear the dishes were being shared. We had to ask and it took a while to arrive. We also had to ask for straws, napkins, and chopsticks. Surprisingly, we were told they had run out of chopsticks, which was unexpected at an Asian/sushi restaurant. We noticed several people eating sushi with their fingers, us included. The sushi by the way, was very good! Another disappointing part of the evening was the wait for our bill. After finishing our meal, we waited at least 20 minutes before receiving the check, even though our server knew we were done, and we could see her behind the desk just leisurely chatting with another server, while she wiped place mats. Overall, I was unfortunately not impressed this time. The staff was kind, but the food and service details did not meet expectations. We were excited to go to this restaurant . We had a reservation and when we got there we realized there were only 3 other tables full so we probably would not have needed one. We were seated right away and told that someone would be with us shortly. We waited. No one even came by to give us water. We waited more as the restaurant slowly got fuller. Now we are there close to a half hour when a waitress went to the table next to us (who had only just been seated) and gave them water and took their order. We stood to leave and were told they would be right with us. We left since we were told that before. So I would actually give them a zero if I could since we got no service. read more

I was in the area doing some Christmas shopping and made it a point to grab lunch here after I had a good first experience. Upon entry I was quickly seated and cold water was brought to the table. During my last time here I discovered the cooks are Burmese so I promised myself that I would order a Burmese dish the next time I came. Today was the day to do exactly that. I placed my order and waited for my food to arrive. Eventually my order arrived. Nan Ji Thoke: a savory noodle dish with chicken and hard boiled egg garnished with onion and crunchy split chickpeas. The dish is accompanied by a side of clear vegetable broth. Shortly after my food arrived I noticed the waitress speaking with someone who came out of the kitchen. I was then introduced to this man who happened to be the owner. We struck up pleasant conversation about Burmese food, my limited experience with it and desire to further explore this cuisine. Our chat led deeper into discussion about restaurants in Philadelphia and what cuisines should come to Lancaster. Aside from the conversation, the dish was fantastic. I had Nan Ji Thoke before but this expression was better than I ever had. I made sure I verbally expressed this as well. I savored the flavor on my palette for approximately the next two hours. We are locals and have been here many times. It's delicious, well managed, and well staffed. The food preparation is thoughtful and deliberate. I ordered the Jumbo Drunken Noodles entrée with shrimp added and two pork egg rolls. I received the main entrée which appeared to be taken from the bottom of the pot. This place is a hidden gem. I love sushi and have eaten at so many restaurants throughout New York and Pennsylvania and this is by far my favorite. The owners are a husband and wife that are very sweet and they will even make you a customized roll with whatever you want if you ask. This was a surprise. A new asian restaurant in Ephrata of all places with wonderful food. They had Khao Soi on the menu which is a rare treat. Was it the same as from the street market in Chiang Rai? I had a curry dish and my mom, who was my dining partner, had traditional Pad Thai. We also split an order of chicken satay. All the ingredients were fresh and the food was quite flavorful. My curry was a bit spicier than expected, but was still good. Service was a bit slow at first but our food came out from the kitchen in a timely manner. The restaurant seemed to be family-owned and had a warm and friendly atmosphere. My only recommendations: 1- consider making changes to the way they serve their curry. The pot and rice spoon were incredibly awkward to manage. 2- consider increasing the portion size for the dipping sauces for the appetizer.
