We stopped in on Christmas and picked up the shrimp lo mein dinner combo with fried rice and egg drop soup, plus a large hot and sour soup, and everything was excellent. The flavors were spot on, the portions were generous, and the food felt fresh and made with care. Even with how busy they were, the service was kind and everything came out just right. Prices are reasonable, the experience was great, and we would definitely come back again to try more of the menu... especially the sushi next time. This restaurant stands out from the other Asian restaurants/take-out places in Ephrata. First and foremost, it tasted delicious and not greasy at all. I ordered a general tso tofu with vegetarian Singapore noodles, and it was amazing! While it is pricey than other Asian restaurants in town, this place is worth it. So.... I had to order a few items from the Ephrata Asian Bistro... just opened maybe 2 weeks ago.... Only heard of it today. Impressions... The online order I placed was a 15-25 minute wait... it was closer to 50 when I got it, but the girl at the counter failed to check that in fact, my order was done probably 15 minutes prior to that wait and sitting on the counter to her left, with several other orders. The counter person wasn't able to organize and get things flowing... they were obviously overwhelmed... I'm thinking that things will fall into place. We ordered sweet and sour chicken, and Maki-B (with miso soup) maki-b is spicy; tuna, crab, salmon rolls. The sweet and sour chicken was actually one of the best I ever had. Not that I ever seek it out, but it was fried to perfection and even sitting around and the trip home, unload car, etc.... it was hot and delicious, go figure... The miso soup was quite good as well. Not my favorite, in general, but it was certainly edible, and had flavor. Probably better than most I've had. The rolls were fantastic. They were rolled tight and precise. They were not over the top spicy, and were well presented and had great flavor. In addition, they had the exact amount of ginger, wasabi, and soy I needed. I think the spicy crab was my favorite, followed by the tuna and salmon. Next time, I'm sure to sample new stuff. Overall, with the wait and the "lost in the shuffle", I think I can forgive these guys, considering it's their second full week or so. I'm going to rate this based on my overall satisfaction with the food and quality. I have to imagine it's hard to open a new place right now with so many closing. I'm going to be in again for sure in the next couple of days, and try to post follow up. I expect to have to wait, which is fine, as you can read, the quality of the food goes a long way to make you forget. read more

My service was prompt, and all food was high quality, fresh, and served at the appropriate temperature. I was greeted by a kind, smiling woman who got my order together quickly. There was a man behind the counter, who was diligently at work on a sushi roll of some kind. It looked fantastic. There are some booths in the restaurant. On the menu there are Japanese, Chinese, and Thai selections. The trendy decor inside makes it a nice spot to grab lunch with a friend. They also accept Apple Pay, and have abundant parking. This place is really nice. The dine-in area is small but comfortable; they seem perhaps more geared to carryout business, but eating in is still a nice experience. The young, Chinese staff is very friendly. The food is delicious. Their won ton broth has a deep, savory flavor. My Happy Family, featuring beef, shrimp, chicken, and lobster in a brown sauce, was very pleasing. Yes, the lobster is actual lobster. The spirit of the staff and the quality of the food makes me hope to be back, soon. If you're in Ephrata, definitely give this place a whirl. read more

Tried a new place today. 5 stars. Friendly workers, great food for a small place. Appetizers I ordered were the scallop mountain,pepper tuna tataki, and an order of salmon sashimi and something I never had,scallop sashimi,I ask for the chefs choice. The scallop mountain was fried scallops fried to perfection,topped with spicy crab meat. Great texture and flavor. Then I had the pepper tuna tataki. Seared tuna topped with avocado and ponzu sauce and fish roe. A very wonderful and unique taste with the slightest bite. The chefs choice of sashimi had the basic salmon sashimi and a treat I've never had,scallop sashimi served on slices of lemon. The sashimi was so fresh and tender I can't wait to come back for more. And OMG the shrimp teriyaki was served steaming hot with fried rice that was so fresh it was also hot,something I never really had from an asian restaurant. Most rice comes out maybe luke warm if lucky. The shrimp were so good and snappy when you bit into them. A good sign of perfectly cooked shrimp and a great size as you can see in my picture. With the shrimp came sauteed broccoli, zucchini, carrots and mushrooms. The combination of the ingredients was amazing. Listen this place is a must,they serve a little of of everything,Chinese, japanese, Thai ,sushi...if you have a lot of people I would call ahead ,it is a small place but could accommodate a large group if needed. Excellent food limited menu great service. I have been eating at this restaurant for about 8 months, the food is delicious and portions are adequate. My one complaint is the prices, they have increased the price twice since I started eating there. This time they tried to charge me the new price even though the menu was at the old price. I informed the waitress and she tried to explain but really had a difficult time so she honored the price on the menu. In total the price increase is somewhere between 25 and 30 percent, I totally understand inflation but the trend has somewhat slowed down. Am seriously considering looking for another place to dine even though it is good I think their price increases are a little exorbitant. read more
