Proximity makes it easy, but there is another tailor across the street - if it were that terrible. I left some items to get items sewn on. They had a plan to have the work done and ready for pickup within 7 days. The items were ready when I came to recover them and I had the next item ready to drop off - for pickup in another week. The true test is what I get back this second time. I left an AGSU jacket for a patch sew on. If you know the belt is probably the most important piece of that jacket... you lose the belt, you can assure yourself of having to get another jacket. Anyways, mine is sewn onto the jacket... I took a photo, if I don't get it back, we might "have a problem, Houston." Sarah worked the desk when I came in, and she was very helpful in getting my items to me. She also helped me hunt down my unit insignias for the shoulders. So, I was impressed by the friendliness and courtesy shown me by the staff on the two times I've been. PROTIP: If you remove your own old patches and velcro, you will save yourself some cash, as there is a charge to remove those items before sewing the items you do want on. Parking is a little weird, if you approach from the north, you may have to navigate around the building to get access to the parking lot. So far, I'm pleased with this sew shop.

I talked to Mr. Garcia (no relation) at J&C House of Alterations. He was very pleasant and assured me he could finish it on time. We dropped the suit off on Tuesday evening and he had it finished by Wednesday afternoon! Mr. Garcia did an excellent job and his price was very reasonable. Also his shop is very clean and well organized. I will definitely return to this shop for any future tailoring needs!

Wearing masks is a given. Like many small businesses, she is cash only ( no charge card), which keeps the price low. She is extremely reliable with estimates and time/day of completion. She is more important than ever as my primary sew-master (my wife) simply has too much work at her paid employment to do the mending/sewing that I need! I should have taken that as a sign already but since i read a previous review that seemed promising enough for the alterations, i thought it couldnt hurt. Boy was i wrong! I gave the man who worked the tailor section 2 simple hem jobs to do for the length of my dresses. These dresses were one of a kind and i should have invested more moeny in a different place!! This man decided to cut the lining of the dress the appropriate length but then the top layer of the actual dress was at least 2 inches shorter!!! So you can see the lining and it looks awful. I should have tried it on before i paid him and left because i would have refused to pay him. It was only 25$ total for both dresses so i thought it was worth it. Now i know better! Terribly unprofessional setting for his business as well since the dressing room for fitting was this tiny closet that was part of his nook.
