They had a plan to have the work done and ready for pickup within 7 days. The items were ready when I came to recover them and I had the next item ready to drop off - for pickup in another week. The true test is what I get back this second time. I left an AGSU jacket for a patch sew on. If you know the belt is probably the most important piece of that jacket... you lose the belt, you can assure yourself of having to get another jacket. Anyways, mine is sewn onto the jacket... I took a photo, if I don't get it back, we might "have a problem, Houston." Sarah worked the desk when I came in, and she was very helpful in getting my items to me. She also helped me hunt down my unit insignias for the shoulders. So, I was impressed by the friendliness and courtesy shown me by the staff on the two times I've been. PROTIP: If you remove your own old patches and velcro, you will save yourself some cash, as there is a charge to remove those items before sewing the items you do want on. Parking is a little weird, if you approach from the north, you may have to navigate around the building to get access to the parking lot. So far, I'm pleased with this sew shop.

It's an AAFES ran place so it has AAFES type prices. It's got the same generic logos all around just like the on post Barber Shops and Shoppettes and so on. The prices are fair-ish. Although I find it disturbing, yet funny, when the AAFES logo had a sign on the wall listing all their prices for things and this' and thats'... Getting name tapes made is a certain price... But ONCE AGAIN (4th time now since I've entered this mans Army) we've changed uniforms AGAIN... And there's a simple word doc printed out and taped to the wall with bold letters, listing the price of the new OCP name tapes ... Which GO FIGURE, happens to be $1 and some change HIGHER than the standard price listed on the AAFES sign. In other words, it's the EXACT SAME PROCESS..but because we ALL have to have them, they were like "F-it, let's just charge more.. What they gonna do Mayne? NOT buy them?!?" Then I assume they all rubbed there hands together and evil laughed as their pupils got larger and shadows fell over their faces... Or something like that. But they're right... What can we do? I don't own a sewing machine, or OCP fabric. Oh well. So need names tapes? Rank sewn on gear/ACU-OCP/ASU/other items? Need uniform taken in because you just came home from deployment?
