If you are having a big wedding with many guests this might be the venue for you. Definitely can fit 200-400 people in this space. They have a good size dance floor. You can cater from an outside entity for your food. They also have a good outdoor area to host your cocktail hour or wedding ceremony. There is a bar area that staff can distribute alcoholic beverages or drinks in general. There is plenty of parking in the front and back of the venue. Restroom has many stalls and it's neat and tidy. Sound was great, no issue with music or mc talking. Overall, I would recommend this venue. read more

We had my sisters quinceañera in May and everything came out perfect! Thanks to the help of the staff (Jose) and Mann. She made sure everything was ready for the main day and before taking off for the day she made sure to let us know if we needed anything from her to give her a call or let Jose know. I recommend booking your special day with them. My advice is to ask lots of questions first and be of aware of what is included in your packet. No question is too small for Mann. Maan, of management was friendly very Professional and went simply over the top with my decorations! It looked like a Queens's Palace and I felt like one. The Venue Patio was surrounded by Palm trees and lights which gave it more special effects of being in Paradise. We simply could not have chosen a more upscale venue! Golden Palace was amazing. I was incredibly stressed out about this whole event but the day of, I was stress-free. Mann and Don literally took care of everything, with a little direction. They even let us go in a day ahead to set up some of our decorations. The day of the event, when I was waiting in the Guest Room, Mann brought me a snack so i wouldn't be hungry before the grand entrance. At the head table, Don actually came and served the wedding party. He even served us drinks and brought us a slice of our cake. Everyone of my guest commended the servers - we paid for servers. They were quick and tidy, cleaning up after everyone. The decorations were beautiful and all our friends and family commented on how attentive the staff were. Two things that came up were - the bathrooms were too far from the room (it's that not that far if you're sober) and the bartenders were slow (though many people said that the bartenders were attentive, asking them about their event). This place is under new management, UNFORTUNATELY that is not a good thing. I went to an event here a couple weeks ago, they WOULDN'T turn on the AC and it was uncomfortably HOT with all the guests; many people complained. Sunny the previous owner did a great job coordinating everything and was attentive to her clients. Once the dancing started the lights were still on & management was no where to be found to turn the lights off so the guests could enjoy the indoor firework display and light show. They have chiavari chairs, but they are not well taken care of, 1/2 the time you are fixing the cushion. When I was complaining about this to one of my friends, they told me new management gave them trouble during their event because they had signed their contract under the old management which was suppose to be honored by the new owners; new people were trying to cancel their reservation and weren't honoring their contract and asking them to pay more if they wanted to keep their event date......very UNETHICAL. Don't get me wrong the facility is nice, but when you have UNPROFESSIONAL and INEXPERIENCED people running the place, who happen to not care about their clients and their guests, do you really want them to be in charge of your special event......I think not. read more

Everything was perfect prior to the wedding, however the day of, the little things that I (the bride) put a lot of effort into went wrong. 1. When I arrived, I entered the ballroom so my guests would not see me prior to the grand entrance That is when I noticed MY DJ was barely setting up! He was let in too late!!! 2. The reserved tables for my family were not in place. My maid of honor had to come looking for me (the bride) to ask where to seat the family of the groom and bride. 3. The slide show did not work, my husband (the Groom) who has an electronics degree was able to help out. However, the venue informed us that if there were any issues with the disk, they would contact us PRIOR to the event. 4. The 4 kids meal I paid for ahead of time were NOT ready on time. My sister in law had to repeatedly ask for her kids food (MY nieces and nephews). 5. They passed out our sheet cake before our actual wedding cake. The pieces were way to small, we had 3 tiers of cake left! My husband had ordered a snickerdoodle sheet cake because that was his favorite... he was hoping to take that home, however they handed that out first. 6. I made a special sideshow for the daughter/Father dance, which could not be played with the music. It was not showed at all. I have been here for two events: my best friend's wedding and my Fresno State Senior Banquet. Both of the events were amazing! The staff is very helpful and willing to give you the best price in town. Their food is delicious, props to their cook. I couldn't believe how fancy and tasteful the food was for such affordable price. We had to choose steak, chicken or vegan plates for my best friend's wedding. The main person in charge let us have combination plates for the same price! I thought it was a great deal since I compared prices with other venues in Fresno, Selma and Madera. Also, the location is perfect, right next to freeway 99. Another thing I really liked was that they made sure all guests had a designated driver or ride after the events. This place looks okay. We came here for a Valentine's banquet. The coordinations of how the dinner was distributed was a total chaos. Actually there weren't any coordination at all. That's why it was chaotic. Steak or chicken was on the menu. Instead of serving both dishes at the same time, the chicken plates were served first. 30 minutes later, the steak plates then were served. In other words my wife ate 30 minutes before me while I watched. Then she watched me eat 30 minutes afterwards. My sister-in-law was served cold vegetables. The kind where it's prepackaged frozen and they heated it but it wasn't heated enough. My brother-in-law waited much longer for his steak plate. Server came out with his half plate in hand and said they ran out of vegetables so he had rice pilaf and two small thinly sliced steak, almost beacon like slice. Dinner was suppose to be at 6:00 PM. It is now 9:30 PM and some people in the banquet still haven't been served their dinner yet. You figure at $60 per person, you have 60 tables, ten chairs per table, you'd be a bit more prepared. My take is the owner is a cheap wad and cares more about pocketing the money than giving good service. Taco Bell gives better service than this place... and I hate Taco Bell. read more

I AM SORRY TO SAY BUT THIS PLACE IS TERRIBLE! And I am not exaggerating. We had a work conference here yesterday and we were very disappointed. Breakfast was fresh fruit, pastries and coffee. The coffee cups were child size cups and the coffee was cold. No orange juice or other juices. The lunch was the worse I have ever been served. It was suppose to be Chicken Marsala but the chicken looked as if it was cooked in a microwave, it was dry, tuff and rubbery, some had blood running out still. No flavor and no Marsala sauce. Soggy veggies and potatoes. Portion size was for a child's plate. Cold bread rolls. Asked for second basket of bread and was told we were only allowed one basket per table. Really, I thought this was totally rude. The same with the salad dressing. Many of us wanted to add the dressing to our chicken but again we were told we were only allowed one dressing per table. We had preordered vegetarian plates and those that ordered them were told they ran out. No coffee served for afternoon session. Our management had to run out to Costco and buy snacks to serve us during our afternoon break since they were aware that the lunch was awful. The staff's uniforms were suppose tinge white but they all looked dirty and dingy. They all were dressed differently, didn't look professional. The one star I gave this was for the big and clean restrooms. I hope our management never uses this venue again for our yearly conference. read more

We held a large family event at this venue and the AC didn't work in the Summer in Central Valley. Upon requesting that they provide a solution, they unresponsive and unsympathetic to the situation. This place was the WORST! I attended a military event there this evening and there were too many problems to list. The temperature inside was so freezing women were getting blankets from their cars to wrap themselves in. The sound system was awful and we couldn't understand the speakers. Dinner was to be served at 7 and we didn't see food until 9:15. The bread was stale and the water pitchers on the table were never refilled once the entire night. When dinner finally came it was literally a tiny mushy chicken breast with a side of the frozen veggies you get at Costco. That's it. For 45$ a plate! And it was gross. I'm not a fancy/picky eater and I was appalled. We went to a drive thru on the way home. All in all a terrible experience. read more

When you first went to meet with them, it's like you are the king/queen of everything but once everything is paid n party begins, you are nothing. The staff there will act like they forgot what they said to you. Plus, they kick you out right at midnight, they don't care how much stuff you have including all your decorations. Our organization has held two large (250-275 guests) annual banquets at the Golden Palace and has already booked next year's date there. Director of Events Sunny does a superb job of assisting us with all the steps it takes to create an excellent event. We've had two different entrees so far and both were delicious, attractive and served in a timely fashion by an efficient and helpful wait staff. The facility itself is large, attractive, well-maintained, and has ample parking and outside lighting. Working with Sunny and Monique is a pleasure. My sister just got married there. We had a great time but the wedding coordinator treated us like she was paying us to be there. She seemed very agitated and then kicked us out promptly at midnight. She had told the bride that the decorations could be picked up the following morning, but then told us to pack everything up right after the wedding. I am giving a rate of one star only because I HAVE to in order to post this review. I attended a Valentines banquet on February 9th, 2019. This hall has to be by far the worst service and experience we have ever had. Dinner consisted of welted iceberg lettuce with watered down dressing, Hawaiian bread from the grocery store, under cooked chicken, thawed out frozen vegetable slush. Dinner was portioned for young 5/6 year old children. My brother in law was served under cooked chicken with veggies and rice pilaf. My husbands plate had pieces of beef and one tablespoon of rice and no veggies. Our table had one pitcher of water and one pitcher of ice tea that never got refilled throughout the night. When we asked the waiters for refills they replied that they were all out. We eventually took our pitchers to get refills from the bar. Waiters looked like they were 15/16 year olds dressed in jeans and black shirts. I purchased two watered down margaritas from the a female bartender for $10 each! More then half the cup was filled with ice and water, a slice of lime and lime juice. My nephews purchased budlight beers that were sour and expired. All alcohol drinks were over priced and not as expected! Very disappointed that people can do business like this! The only winner yesterday night was the owner of the hall. All the money we paid for this event was not worth it! I would not recommend this place! read more

I recently lost this venue today and I am going to relay my experience with it. After reading so many great reviews about Sunny and finding an indoor location in Fresno, I decided to book it. When I first met Sunny, she was really sweet and bubbly. Unfortunately, she has not been very nice or accommodating to us as one of her clients/bride and groom. We tried to make it in almost every month to make a payment so we won't have to worry about it when our wedding came. When we met up with her at first, she said she would text us or call us when she had a wedding our colors so we could go see how everything looked. I asked for a decor meeting so she scheduled us in and talked to us about what we wanted. We TALKED for ten minutes about it, she did not have any tables set up for us, we did not look at napkins or see the chivari chairs that I wanted or what was offered in a classic package to look at because she kept telling me, your wedding is so far away, you are doing too much right now. Also, because we booked the six hour package, I wanted to do my ceremony there as well. Sunny said she was able to do it and that if we wanted to do the big banquet hall, that she could partition the room. If you know me, I am on a budget and I will ask over and over again how much something costs and I kept asking her if it was going to cost anything and she kept saying no. During our mock decor meeting, she said that it was going to be $300 for the partition and that upset me because every time I saw her, I would ask about the price of the partition. I cried and she said that I was hormonal which I thought was kind of rude for a wedding vendor to say, but I brushed it off because she said she would compensate it. I haven't bugged her too much because she seemed inconvenienced every time we would drop by to make a payment or call to make an appointment for things. I wanted to do an appointment for a tasting, but their chef only works on Wednesday. They finally agreed to a tasting on Monday which was the only time we are available after I threw a fit about it. I am pretty sure they work with many brides and grooms who are busy working so I couldn't understand what the big deal was about us doing a tasting on a different day since we were paying for it anyway. The food was delicious, but they gave us warm water and have been pushing us to the side ever since. Recently, my groom's stepmother told us that she had some gold organza runners from his stepsister's wedding so I thought that would be a great opportunity to save $200 on tablecloths because when my fiancé and I spoke with Sunny for the 10 minutes that she was able to give us, we spoke about ivory tablecloths, but she did not physically show us what she had since we were going to do a final decor meeting in August. They called me today saying I had my decor meeting already and that I already chose my table cloths and the 10 minutes she took to go over the decor on paper with us was our official decor meeting. Then, Sunny said I never sent her anything about what kind of backdrops or canopys I wanted for my ceremony and decor. I told her, I never saw her work and I didn't know what she offered and that she never invited us to look at weddings as she promised she would so we can make a decision on what type of decor we wanted. She then told me that it was because my fiancé and I were always busy working, but she never reached out to us, not even once to go look at a wedding she did and we have been booked with her since December. She told me today, that we were responsible to go to her and ask her when she was coordinating a wedding, basically find out when she was coordinating a wedding and invite ourselves to look at it. She kept saying that the 10 minutes she took to talk to us was the official decor meeting and I told her that it wasn't because we never officially agreed or signed any paper about what kind of decor we wanted. I also told them that they confused me because they kept giving me the run around and they told me that it was me that got confused. Of course, i got confused. After this, I was livid and decided that it was the best to part ways. I called my fiance after that and he is a fairly quiet and sincere guy and was pretty confused as to Sunny talking to us about the decor as the official decor meeting because she kept telling us it was early and that brides tend to change their minds on things later in the wedding planning process which i did. Basically, she pushed us aside and didn't want to have anything to do with us and when we needed her to accommodate us. Thank goodness they are giving us our full refund back. My experience with the staff of this facility was very disappointing. I emailed them an inquiry about having my wedding there; however, I did not get a chance to come in for a tour and consultation due to apparent unorganization and a lack of communication. On Monday morning at 10:30am, one of their staff members asked me if I could come in that evening at 5:00pm for my tour. I had previously explained that my fiancé and I both were not available until after 5pm Monday-Sunday due to work obligations. I happily confirmed the Monday appointment and planned to rush over immediately after clocking out from work (the drive is from Clovis). Assuming that since they asked us to come in just hours before and that it would be set in stone, I left work so fast that I did not see her message about "a change in their schedule" and that we could not meet that day until we drove halfway there. I was a little bummed, but tried to be as understanding as possible. So I messaged them back and they offered to reschedule to Saturday evening at 5:30pm. Again, I said that it would be wonderful and confirmed. Well come Saturday evening, again rushing out from work to drive all the way across town during rush hour, we arrived at the facility shortly after 5:40. Assuming that these people would offer a short grace period, we pulled up only to find a closed gated parking lot and no one in sight. I tried calling several times and even emailed asking about how to get in or if anyone was even there (there were no cars visible in the lot)... But I was only met with no response and an automated voice message system. Here I am 6 hours later with still no message back or even a courtesy call to say that they would not be there for our appointment. Very inconsiderate and unprofessional in my opinion. Needless to say, my fiancé and I are no longer interested in giving them our business. The beautiful hall and great buffet prices are NOT worth the huge hassle of merely coming in for a consultation. If they are unreliable for these simple appointments, how could they be trusted to run a wedding?! Just something to consider before choosing this venue. read more

We just held our second event at the Golden Palace back in August. Working with Sunny is always great! We held our Annual Recognition Dinner with approximately 180 guests in the smaller half of their room. They worked with us on everything as needed. Our only discrepancies were having a ramp for their stage and the accessibility of the room once set up. Being that we are an independent living center, we understand the importance of hosting an all inclusive event. Golden Palace should be required to provide a ramp to go with their stage to make it accessible per the ADA, yet they refused. They required we go out and rent our own ramp to go with their stage or rent our own stage and ramp together. Also we explained that we would have guests using wheelchairs and would need the tables spaced apart appropriate to allow free movement. This was not quite the case, but we made it manageable. Overall our experience with Golden Palace was positive, the food was great for both events we have and Sunny has been as helpful every step of the way. read more
