There were a lot of little touches that I would say set this restaurant above typical Chinese-American off Main Street restaurants. It's still basic and humble grill and wok fare, but the egg drop soup had actual meat and vegetable chunks, tea was good, even the fortune cookies were slightly chewy and not packaged. The food came out hot and was cooked in fresh oil. I think most people will be comfortable with the level of seasoning. The cooking style for our meal was very precise and by-the-book. I have never been treated so rudely in my entire life and that is a long time since I am 94. I called the GP because I wanted to get a take out and had never dined there before. I got a man (will not call him a gentleman) on the phone. I briefly mentioned what I was looking for and could he help me with an order. He stated he did not have time to waste on the phone and hung up on me. Well of course I thought this was very unusual behaviour. After that I shouldn't have called again but I did, and this time I got a woman on the phone. I explained of what kind of food I was looking for and she suggested a stir fry. I stated that sounded good and told her I would be down shortly to pick it up. I arrived at the place and unfortunately it was this young fellow who came to the counter. When he recognized that it was me he previously talked to, he pointed to the door and told me to get out. I still have no idea what kind of problem this man has but would hope the managers or owners of this place read my post. I have been in business before myself, and know you cannot treat customers in this fashion and stay in business. They should be aware and replace this man as quickly as possible. Is he a relative? This family owned business is my go to place whenever I'm feeling up for Chinese. Their food is delicious, and I'm always coming back for more. They are also very affordable. We got an entire bag of food capable of feeding my family of three for at least a couple days. I'm stuffed to the gills and have more than enough for lunch tomorrow! I have been going here for over 20 years and it is my all time favorite Chinese food. We always get the rangoons, bbq pork, sweet and sour pork, almond chicken, pork fried rice, and the ginger beef and they are delicious every time. Attempted to dine with friends over the weekend, but hit a stumbling block with the owner's son (high school/college) regarding clarification of the menu. Our friends asked to order "pan-fried noodles" which, according to the statement on the menu header for that section, were available "for a $1.50 additional charge." The owner, our server, said that they were available with only two specific dishes (in spite of the verbiage in the header). So they capitulated and ordered an alternative. I approached the son, who was also acting as a server, since he spoke perfect English and was easily understood, to ask for a clarification of the restriction. He reiterated the same explanation as had his mother (our server) and when I told him that was not what the header stated he replied sarcastically, "I'm sorry you can't understand what the menu says." I told him that my wife and I have been patronizing this particular restaurant since before this current family/owner took it over about 20 years ago and that we'd never been treated so rudely. We continued our somewhat heated discourse during which I asked "What happened to the premise that the customer is always right?" He immediately snapped back with "The customer is NOT always right!" and said something about "Or we could ask you to leave." That was the proverbial last straw. As consistent as ever. Basic Americanized Cantonese and Sichuan cuisine with many menu options and combos. Best prices in town, even after some post-pandemic escalation. This is a horrible place to eat. The food socks and the costumer service is the worst I have ever seen in my life. The young male with glasses mocked me rolled his eyes at me. I asked for a tofu dish. The waitress said they only had one tofu dish. She brought it out and it looked like pig slop. smelled like rotten gym socks. I said to the man with glasses I didn't like it. Most reviews rated the food fairly high, but lots of lower ratings from folks complaining about the wait staff and, specifically, the owner. Reviews said she was rude. Had to go check it out for myself. Ordered a combo plate with tempura shrimp, pork chow mein and fried rice. The food was pretty good. This is the first bad review I have ever given any business, i realize places have bad days and Im not trying damage a reputation over it. But i have been here multiple times and its always the same thing. The food is good, and the portions are large..however my disatisfaction comes from the service. Once you get your food you never see anyone again, if you need anything you have to get up and ask for it. This has not happened once ..but every time Ive been in. Also on thier menu clearly states on the combination page that you can have pan fried noodles for an upcharge of &1.35, yet every time I have asked to sub out the rice for the pan fried noodles, they have flat out refused to do so. I dont mind paying the extra couple dollars as i do not care for thier fried rice. If you dont want to make the substitution fine, no problem..just dont advertise on the menu as its an option when clearly it is not. read more

This is my first time leaving a review and my last time going there. Reason is the owners son is completely disrespectful when questioning what I, a customer am being charged for. We got charged 15% gratuity for being a party over 6 (we were 9), gratuity is VOLUNTARY never obligated. We paid the full bill with gratuity to avoid any problems. But the owners son got defensive after I told him we aren't obligated to pay it and it is not a LAW to pay any gratuity. He replies with "You are NOT going to tell me how to run my restaurant." Once I said I wasn't sure if I was even come back to the restaurant he says, "You are doing us a favor." SMH. They forget what customers are to the restaurant, their money providers. This is my first time giving a negative review. I went in this Sunday 09/06/20 and had the worst, horrible, most demeaning experience I have ever had in a restaurant. The young man working at the register, the son of the owner; to say he was extremely impatient and rude would be an understatement. I was there with my my 2 sons and 2 daughter to order food. I have gone there for years. However, this was my second time since COVID-19. I went in a few days before with my significant other. It was the same kid working there, and he was also very rude and impatient but I was on a date with my woman, so I did not want to engage with him and ruin our night. However, this day he was specially rude and short. I could not ask him a question about the menu because he would get upset. It was 5 of us and he only gave us 2 menus. Then I asked him for more and that seemed to rub him wrong. Then he asked me, "are you ready, because I have other things to do." Keep in mind we were the only customers. So as I was adding up all the orders on my smartphone because they don't give you an itemized receipt; because there are times they do make errors. This really annoyed him because I told him that my total was different. So, my teenage daughter came over because I was at the register; and she asked him, "are you good." That's when he snapped and yelled, "yes I'm good, is he good." Referring to me. This is just the beginning. He then proceeded to yell at me "you do this every time." I had only been there twice since the COVID restrictions. I then asked him how old he was because he was acting like a teenager when they dont get their way. I honestly thought he was minor because of his youthful appearance and immaturity when dealing with customers. This really triggered him and started yelling I can cancel your order; then at this point he yelled at my family and I, "get the FU@# out." Yes ladies and gentlemen he even threaten to call the police if we didn't. Then when we did not leave fast enough he got in my face and once again yelled "get FU@# out." He must of dropped the F-Bomb like 5 times. His dad came out from the back and grabbed him and signaled to me with his hand in a waving motion; as to indicate he did not want any problems. Unfortunately, I can not speak with the father because of the language barrier. However, he looked embarrassed and frustrated with the situation. I kept my composure because my own kids were there; and his mother and father have always treated us fairly in the past. So, I really feel sorry for the parents because their bratty, selfish, and arrogant son is running their business right into the ground. His last words to me before I left were the following, "I can't wait for your review!" It almost seems like he is doing it out of spite because he hates working in the family business. read more

I entered this place about 3 weeks ago at 9:35PM. I wanted to sit down and eat in a booth. The rude, downright nasty, cashier said it was takeout only. Since they close at 10:00PM there was plenty of time to get the "Special" served and for me to eat it. I said, "Well I guess you don't want my business" and he said, "No! I don't want your business". The food is usually decent. While dining in we were brought the wrong food. I waited about ten minutes until I was finally able to say something to the young waiter who was serving our table. When ordering I requested for beef and broccoli in replacement but was brought chicken and broccoli. I was very polite about bringing up how I was given the wrong thing only for the waiter to rudely attempt to go back and forth with me about how I was wrong and he was right. He then asked me what I wanted him to do about it. I was astounded that he acted like that and responded no and that I just wanted some boxes. Had the number 10 with almond chicken,BBQ pork,fried rice and broccoli chicken (i think). Sadly the only decent thing i had was the BBQ pork which just had a mild sweet and smoky flavor. Everything else was pretty bland. I tasted my almond chicken sauce and all i could detect was a slight butter flavor (maybe). I was baffled. The place was packed when i went. Fast service and the owner i think served me and she was very nice to me. Overall the service was great, portions were enormous but the food was not good at all.
