I've dined at Golden Spike Burgers many times before and have always been satisfied with the experience. This last time however, while my gyro and fries were good, the side of onion rings was bland and tasted like raw flour. I remember that the restaurant used to provide squeeze bottles of ketchup and fry sauce at the table, but apparently they don't anymore, and in fact charge for any extra fry sauce. The labels on the iced tea dispenser were switched so instead of getting unsweetened tea, it dispensed sweetened tea. Another patron indicated that she knew about the issue because the same thing had happened to her. The interior of the restaurant has gone downhill. The vinyl seats in every single booth were torn and the backs of the wooden booths looked like something had chewed on them. In the booth where we were sitting, it looked like ketchup or something had been sprayed on the corrugated metal. It just wasn't clean. I was quite disappointed because as I mentioned earlier, I have eaten here many times before. Still, the gyro and fries were good if you can look past everything else. read more

I've eaten everywhere around Brigham city and this place has the Best food no matter what you order. The burgers are absolutely delicious and the Mexican food? Absolutely Delicious. I loved this place! After living in Utah my entire freaking life, I finally took a little road trip to the spiral jetty. This joint was on the way, in that tiny little town west of Brigham City called Corrine. They had such a great selection! It was very similar to the menu items of crown burger, but then also had the added bonus of burritos! Haha. I ordered: Pastrami burger special. It was yummy! The bun was nice and fluffy. I just wish the party was a little thicker and that there was a little more pastrami. But the flavor was so yummy and just great. The fries that came with it were just normal and great. No complaints there. A gyro. It was pretty clear that the gyro meat was like, pre-packaged and most likely frozen at some point. However, the flavor was just great and yummy. So at the end of the day, I don't care how "fresh" it was. It was good. The cucumber sauce was also yummy. Just a good, solid gyro. The carne asada burrito. It had cheese, rice, beans, meat, and chili verde green sauce. A tad on the spicy side, but the rice evened it out nicely for a great flavor all around. I don't think I would make a trip to come here again, only because the location is too inconvenient for how good the food was (it's about an hour away from where I live). However, I would really like to go back to the spiral jetty again, and will most likely make this burger joint a priority as part of that trip. The folks working there were nice, and despite how "off the beaten path" this place is, I wish them the best and continued success in business. read more

I'm not sure what to do here. It is a real stretch to go to 4 stars. When we were coming through to get to Spiral Jetty, we saw this place, and with the reviews being so good, we knew we had to come back. We made a special effort to get here. Everyone was reasonably friendly. You order up front, but they bring the food to your table. We liked that they had more than just burgers. I got a double cheeseburger, the wife got a gyro. When we left, we both got a scoop of ice cream. The burger did taste like beef. They are buying good quality frozen premade beef patties. The onion rings are good frozen premade rings. The Gyro is pre-sliced frozen meat. So, in the end, there is nothing for me worth the extra effort to get here. If I happen to be in the area, it's nice, and pretty much the only option. read more

We love Golden Spike! Their food is delicious and their service is even better! They seem to genuinely care that you have come in. We took my parents, sister and boyfriend and our kids there one night. 6 adults, two teenagers and two big kids. We all ordered meals and our total was less than 100 bucks! That's a steal! Best burgers in the area, bar none. Love the pastrami burger, the golden spike burger, the California burger, and the Greek gyro. The Tex-Mex style burrito was delicious too! Ok down to the brass tacks: the service is fantastic, the food is always great and the Fry Sauce.... Oh my heck gosh dang that fry sauce is so good. I almost considered sneaking away with the bottle of it--which is probably why they only give you small cups of it now...it's ok, just pay for extra and thank me later. Not sure who declared that this place had the best burgers in Utah, but just because you display a banner at the front of the restaurant that says such, doesn't mean it's true. Was that mean and harsh to say? I honestly really can't say there was anything special about this place. The burgers were nothing spectacular. Just regular burgers. My husband got the California Burger which had some creativity to it but my hamburger and my son's hot dog were pretty mediocre. I did appreciate the updated interior but the service and food didn't quite match the improvements made on the general appearance and operation of the business. A couple of things that really bothered me about this place was first, it was smokey inside. The place lacked proper ventilation for the amount of grilling going on in the kitchen. I could hear the loud, overhead fans on, but the dining area was full of smoke. Second, my Diet Coke tasted terrible. While I consider the condition of a restaurant's bathroom to be a good indicator of the restaurant's general approach to cleanliness, I see the flavor of the Diet Coke to be an accurate indicator of food quality. This DC was essentially flavorless except for the hint of bleach I could taste. Blech. And third, the tater tots were a disappointment. One thing I look forward to with small-town burger joints is tots on the menu! It's hard to do tots wrong! But these weren't cooked right. They were not crispy and like everything else, just mediocre. I appreciated having an adequate pitstop for lunch on the way out of town but I didn't feel like this place lived up to the hype. If I should be in town again, I think I would be better served going in with lower expectations and leaving pleasantly satisfied. read more

This was our first chance to finally dine-in again after the covert 19 quarantine that we've all been going through. We got out of the house and went to the Golden Spike park, and then the the spiral jetty.. On our way home we decided to stop at Golden Spike burgers. I've never eaten here before but Ive got to say it was amazing. My wife and kids all thought it was amazing as well, so it has earned five stars from us. The service was quick as well! Kids chicken tenders and chicken strips, my wife had a cheeseburger and then my teenage daughter and I both have the golden spike burger which add bacon, avocado, mushrooms, and onion rings. I'll admit, I was a little bit sad when the burger was gone. I'll find a way to make it up here again. read more

This is an outpost in an area sparsely populated with food options. That being said they put out some tasty burgers and fries. The burgers are similar to Crown, Apollo, Astro etc. I usually go for the bacon cheese and fries. The burgers are grilled which imparts that yummy grilled flavor. I was up North taking care of some business and as the noon hour approached so did my hunger. I quick Yelp search led me to Golden Spike Burgers which was only 5 miles away. Based on the reviews I had a desire to try a bit of everything like the Animal Fries, Burrito, Burger, etc. Unfortunately, (or fortunately) I don't have the capacity to eat everything at one sitting. So, I opted for a cheese burger, chili cheese dog and fries. The burger was ok, it was freshly cooked and seasoned but it was a bit overcooked and a bit dry, the patty was thin and did not scream fresh or hand made. The chili dog was interesting, the chili was different from anything I have tried. The chili was very creamy and light colored, it had meat chunks (bits) but they did not have much structure and they too were creamy. I am not sure if I liked the chili or not, it had flavor but not a lot, it was ok but didn't seem to add much the hot dog. The hot dog and bun were very good, the meat was very flavorful, grilled, crispy and tasty and the bun was toasted perfectly. The fries were good, crispy and flavorful and served with fry sauce. In summary, my meal was good, not something I could get just anywhere. The burger certainly was not the best I have had, I can find a better burger at the same price elsewhere. The grilled hot dog was very tasty and the fries were a good compliment to the meal. The restaurant was large and very appealing, the menu is diverse providing many options and the food is good enough to warrant a return trip. read more

When heading out to the Golden Spike national monument make a point to stop at this place. The food is delicious and there is a hometown charm that can't be beat. I was a little skeptical about stopping because from the outside it doesn't look very welcoming but don't let that dissuade you. I took a gamble and I'm glad we did. The menu has a lot of options that will suit most everyone's needs. It's not just a burger place. The Greek salad was delicious and a very nice surprise with both lamb and chicken. Absolutely glad we stopped here for dinner. I had the gyro and it was delicious. My husband had the Golden Spike burger and he said it was the best burger he had ever had. My son had the chicken strip dinner with a salad and fries, it came with delicious pita bread and was huge portions of fries and salad. He really liked the chicken and pita bread and fry sauce. Had the pastrami burger with fries. Some reviews have noted its similarity to Crown Burger, but in my opinion it's better. The buns were of higher quality and most important it was not as greasy as Crown. My partner had the regular hamburger and felt the same. Prices were very reasonable, cheaper than similar chains in Utah. If you're on your way to the Spiral Jetty or Golden Spike I encourage you to stop in. read more

The food fare is nothing to drive out of your way for, but in an area scarce of dining establishments, you'll find very friendly folks, a nicely designed dining area and some very basic offering from the menu. If you're headed for a look of the Golden Spike National Site...this is your last chance to fill up. I opted for the touted 'Best Burrito in town'. I'm not sure how much competition there is in a small town like Corrine for that title,  but the end result was okay.  Not bad by any means, but fair. With a choice of beef or pork, I went for the pork. The filling itself was a stew mostly of gravy with a few chunks of pork meat.  The Verde sauce atop was quite mild, so the Chalula was a welcome addition. If there's a claim to fame for the Burrito, then its the size of this monster.  It's so big, you should be ashamed if you eat it all in one sitting. Definitely suitable for dividing up and sharing. It is served with beans & rice on the side (or in my case, just beans...no rice). Yes, the burgers are good. The Golden Spike was the consensus winner with the avocado & onions. Between the burrito and burgers, our group was able to split and sample a few items. read more
