I guess the best place to begin my review is to start with Patrick. He. WAS. INCREDIBLE. So good in fact that we hired him twice. First for our oldest son's Bar Mitzvah and then again for our younger son's Bar Mitzvah. He is so incredibly easy to work with and spent a ton of time meeting with us to decided the flow of the event. We recognized after our first event with Patrick how important it is to have someone who knows how to MC a party. And Patrick is the best! People were dancing, smiling, having a blast and he kept everything on time so we didn't have to worry about any of it. I knew Patrick had it all planned and would keep the party moving. Patrick did a great job for our wedding. I am a pretty picky person when it comes to music, and had recommended a play list filled with obscure new wave, jazz, bossa nova and electronic music. He knew it, he played it, but then he expanded on it, playing to the crowd for a better experience than I could have done myself. HE's a seasoned pro and knows how to read a crowd. It's been a little over 6 months since our wedding. People are still telling us it was the best wedding ever. We give credit to our DJ Patrick (and the open bar helped a little.) When it came to planning the wedding, music was the most important thing to us. I was very nervous about picking a DJ and spent hours researching. I am so glad we found Golden State Productions. We had a few in-person and phone meetings before the date so Patrick and I could figure out how we wanted the night to be. He helped us create a timeline that worked for us, provided guidance on song choice, and encouraged us to do what we wanted- not what was expected. Day of, Patrick helped keep us on the timeline and checked in to see if there was anything we needed. He was great at reading the crowd and kept people dancing, myself included, for over four hours. DJ St. Patrick was recommended to us by our wedding coordinator, Jenn Pickart, at the Oceano Hotel, who had worked with him on nearly 50 weddings. We were very happy with our choice! Patrick was easy to work with in the planning calls, made great song suggestions and provided a catalog of popular songs to help us plan. He also generously threw in an extra sound system setup for free for the reception ballroom, which was adjacent to but separate from the dancefloor hall. On the day of the wedding, he queued all the songs in our ceremony and speeches during the reception perfectly, and did an admirable job pronouncing some challenging foreign names. He created a really warm and welcoming atmosphere on the dancefloor, kept the party going at all times, took all requests, and played nearly every song we had pre-selected off our long list. Wayne Noel was the DJ at our July 2014 wedding. I can't recommend him enough. From the list of music we gave him, he was able to know exactly what kind of music we liked,and trust me, we gave him some pretty indie songs. Even though he is the DJ, he was the only one really helping to keep the wedding on schedule and kept checking in to make sure everything was great. He is sweet and efficient to work with, and one of the best decisions I made for the wedding, other than the venue (and the hubby of course!). There is no way I could express my gratitude to Patrick Numair for the incredible job he did for me on June 23 celebrating my 70th birthday! He was so easy to work with and gave me exactly what I had asked for. That was a huge request because I was performing three dances with my teachers that evening where music had to be coordinated. While helping to plan our daughters wedding, my husband found Golden State Productions on the web and called. He got DJ Saint Patrick on the phone and really liked their conversation. We found him through a friends' wedding and realized he was such a great DJ by the fact that not only did he play great music, but he was also a great MC. He managed the entire timeline of the ceremony and reception and provided the perfect music to accompany every portion of the night. We couldn't have asked for a better DJ and everything ran as smooth as we could have hoped for. Leading up to the event, Patrick took all the time needed to help us plan every detail and never hesitated to answer any questions that we had. My wife (Andrea D) left me in charge of one thing and one thing only at our wedding -- the music. Talk about pressure! Thankfully, hiring DJ Saint Patrick made me look like a rock star. Throughout the whole process, Patrick was very responsive and I could definitely sense that he cared deeply about making our wedding special. He spent over an hour with my wife and I on the phone before the wedding, carefully going over the songs, styles, and structure for reception. DJ St. Patrick was the DJ at my wedding several months ago (sorry it took me so long to write this, Patrick!) and he was incredible. I had interviewed with several other DJ companies before I talked to Patrick and he was the only DJ that even came close to understanding my vision. The thing is, I didn't think that what I wanted was so weird.. I just wanted a really great dance party and I didn't want a strong (i.e. possibly annoying) MC personality... no wedding games, conga lines, or other elements that I personally find cheesy -- no disrespect, that's just not my thing. I talked to a surprisingly large number of companies that were highly recommended (and well-rated on yelp!) who just didn't meet the mark or were really inflexible. So, when I talked to Patrick, he was a breath of fresh air. He really listened to what I wanted and everything just clicked into place so easily. Plus, he keeps just the right balance between accommodating your requests and offering his own expertise where you're not sure. He asked all the right questions and thought of so many details that I hadn't considered... his planning tools really put my mind at ease. I was nervous leading up to the wedding, but the musical flow was not one of my concerns. I really felt like I was in good hands. The wedding itself was amazing. Cocktail and dinner music was spot on. He included the artists I mentioned and branched out in just the right directions. He achieved the exact vibe we discussed. The dance party was phenomenal. The dance floor was full the entire night. My only complaint is that I danced so much that I didn't take a break to have a slice of pie :) .. oh well.. totally worth it. DJ Wayne Noel came highly recommended from our wedding coordinator and we could not be happier that we hired him for our September 2014 wedding. He just might be the nicest person on the planet. Seriously. Also I'm not ashamed to admit that his online planning form might have actually helped me plan certain aspects of our wedding! He's super thorough and responsive during the planning process (which is an absolute delight and rarity in the wedding vendor space). Day of he was AWESOME. Beyond awesome really. All our ceremony and tent entrance music was perfectly timed (and I didn't make it easy on him) and he played all the songs we asked for and mixed in some other stuff that suited the crowd perfectly. The dance floor was busy all night. And I had no idea my grandma was such a dance machine. I had numerous people comment on how Wayne wasn't just standing in front of a laptop or wandering around - that he was actually getting into it and really doing his thing. Neither my wife or I have had much experience with DJs and didn't really know what to expect or what to look for. We ended up going with Golden State Productions and DJ Patrick based on the recommendation of our venue. DJ Patrick got back to me quickly and soon scheduled an initial phone consultation to get an idea of what we were like and the type of music we liked. He was very easy to talk to, laid-back, and just gave off the impression that the most important thing was for us to enjoy this experience. They also provide a google docs spreadsheet that was very helpful for thinking about what music is needed when and helped us to build our playlist. He would also provide gentle reminders to complete the form which was again helpful as we often pushed this task to the back... 2 weeks before our wedding, we had a phone conference to run through everything. It was immediately clear that he had done his preparation, reviewed the spreadsheet, and even searched for, downloaded, and listened to the individual songs that we had chosen for the wedding party to walk out to. During this conference call, we were able to run through a detailed timeline and he was able to give some suggestions about timing of events which we found helpful. We were also relieved he was not at all judgmental about our somewhat eclectic taste in music. On the day of, he arrived well in advance of our start time and was set-up rapidly. The microphones/speakers for the ceremony and reception were set-up clearly so all our guests could actually hear the vows, thank-you speeches, and toasts. Throughout the day, he would check in with us in terms of timing and to help with transitions to the slide-show, cake-cutting, and first-dance. We were actually very nervous about the dance party as only some of our friends actually dance. However, with him manning the music, people seemed to really enjoy themselves and actually a lot of people danced until the very last song. All in all, it was a great experience. We selected DJ Patrick and Golden State Productions after much research. We really wanted to music to be great but we were worried that with our very very diverse group of friends and family it would be hard to set the tone in a way that worked for all our guests. DJ Patrick was not only brilliant in the way he DJ'd but he was really just a pleasure to work with. He is so professional, he is relaxed, knowledgable and very intuitive. He knew when to dial the party up or down. We originally opted not to have additional uplighting or a photo booth but after some thought and consultation we decided to get both. The photo booth was AWESOME! I was afraid it would look less elegant but instead they have a more modern booth which they ran seamlessly ... and we and our guests LOVED it. Everyone had a blast. I would highly recommend DJ Saint Patrick (and the photo booth - it is 100% worth the extra money). Thanks so much, Patrick! You were a joy to work with - you are so nice and super talented.
